They are in trance but they don't have to have eyes closed during the process. My first half-serious response? Go to my webpage and get my DVDs and you will learn just how. :-) My more helpful response is that they are already in trance. Hypnosis does NOT require eye closure. In fact, if you check my youtube videos, you will find examples where I do this sort of stuff with NO formal trance induction at all, no eye closure, no relaxation but they respond wonderfully. I teach how to do this.
