  • Any dude the best rhythmic base in the history is Entwsitle and Moon , but John Paul Jones and Bonham ae good to , hear another band call Grand Funk Schacher and Brewer are incridible too

  • I hate the fact that John gets the least camera time of all the members. :'( whatevs, I love you John!!!!!

  • wow great clip the who are my favorite band for 30 years

and i never saw this before. ginormous

  • here john looks like my math teacher.

  • @mikuz007 That would be really awsome I wish one of my teachers looked like John then I wouldn't mind paying attention in class.

  • it's a matter of opinions. I think it's wrong to make a hit parade, we're talking about absolute drum MASTERS. I could say they're not the only one, i could mention many more else like Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, Nick Mason, Mitch Mitchell, Stewart Copeland and so on. I agree Moon is special, he had a magic, was like a volcano when he played drums. His beats were so original that no one's ever been able to play them as he did

  • how can it be that the man that is dresses up as a fuckin SKELETON gets less camera time than everybody else?

  • @yooperwholigan13 He gets the most camera time. He's John Entwistle, he can turn fucking invisible.

  • Who's singing? John Entwistle - The guy they never show on the camera.

  • Bohnam and Moon were friends and Moon even sat in and played Moby Dick with Bohnam once, both on one kit! Can u imagine. Id say they were equals, they just had different styles

  • @IamVelcroman Yeah I would say Bonham and Moon were around equal ability on drums with different styles. But Keith just showed straight up enthusiasm and passion when he played that's unmatched. And between John Paul Jones and Thunderfingers Entwistle I mean come on. I would take Entwistle any day.

  • when a gig starts like this you know its gunna be f****** AWSOME!!!

  • I think the reason why they played this song first on the set at the time was because it was kinda like their "warm-up" song, so to speak

  • @Denthedragon True... amazing bass + drums + guitar for John, Pete and Keith to warm up, lead vocals by John so Roger could see what he would be able to do with his voice on that show without ruining the song... plus it's the best way to make a good first impression !!

  • i'm lovin' how entwistle decided to be a skeleton... lmaooooo hahaha.

  • WOW

  • this concert is defenitely some of their best work

  • The Who at the top of their game right here...

  • 0:07 Machine Gun Keith

  • fuck yes

  • nice

  • u know when the who had a great show pete never smashed a guitar. not even during my generation

  • yeah dude kuz u know that he only did that when he was pissed!!

  • what year was this made?

  • 1970 at isle of wight

  • its not that he liked wearing crazy clothes but when you have keith going crazy and pete windmilling all over the place and roger swinging his mic you need some attention standing still like that

  • gotchya, so I'm making my Skelton suit :p

lol thanks alot. I always figured he just bought it, because I know he used to like shopping at stores that carried some crazy stuff sometimes, I thought that jsut so might have been one of them. anyway, thanks alot, I can stio my epic search for a leather skeleton suit like that and start on making one. and didn't he always just stand around anyway :p.

    P.S

thanks for the roadie story, I'll have to remember that one.

  • did john wrote this song?

  • yup

  • Yeah, you can also find this one on his first solo album, Smash Your Head Against The Wall. :)

  • I find it rather odd, bassist of the milenium, such an iconic part of rock and roll, such a powerful sound, such a crazy cool idea costume, and it's virtualy impossible to find a decent quality one. >_>

  • I personally just want to know where I can get my hands on a decent, relatively cheap Skeleton Suit likle John's. I've checked a few places and I haven't been able to find one decently close to his at all. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one?

  • what i coincidence I did the same thing. no results as well.

  • He had his custom made. He used to tell a story about this very suit where he'd gotten to this show (Isle of Wight) and went to put it on for the first time. It fit perfectly but had no give, so he couldn't sit down in the suit. Sooo, he had to stand around the entire time. This is where he also described the intrepidity of the Who's roadies in stealing all the available wood, including the fenceposts keeping out the public, to fuel the band's bonfire.

  • The Who always stated they were badly dressed MODS. Also, Pete wore the boiler suit as not just to stop distraction from the music but he couldn't be assed to dress in suits. They also competed on stage for attention. John Entwistle wrote this song ;) Rare for a band to ALL be able to write, sing and play.

  • Yea lol the reason why John has the skeleton outfit is because he needed something that have him seen more on the videos than Pete.

  • they got the spotlight on roger, pete, and keith. all 3 of them are amazing. but then, LISTEN to john sing, play, and look hardly even interested in the song. i LOVE that. and then watch him in the background at 3:00. playin that melody, lookin at everyone else. amazing. the whole band!

  • So I guess Roger's cross is quite contradictory? lol Either way love them all!

  • This looked like SO MUCH FUCKING FUN! LONG LIVE ROCK, LONG LIVE THE WHO!

  • best song!

  • Listen to this on Live at Leeds.......this is what rock is all about. Each band member is like 3 people, so they're firing on all 12 cylinders. Moon is just plain out of control. Viva Le Who!!!!! Squisito!!!!!

  • who wrote this song?

  • John Entwistle

  • this could of been the perfect pop song if it wanted to,it's so fuckin catchy, jesus,it probably is!

  • it really pisses me off that the whole dvd is basically just close ups of townshend. i mean even here, its an Entwistle song, hes singin lead, and its still just close ups of townshend. i mean, i like townshend but fucks sake.

  • God, I still remember the first time I heard this song on the "Leeds" album. I just couldn't believe my ears. Stunning.

  • Its one of the top 5 songs ever created on the earth man

  • Same. I couldn't believe how good hey were live.

  • One of the hidden gems of The Who. Fantastic!

  • sweet entwistle tune, moon is god

  • I'll still take Moon and Entwistle over any other rock rhythm section ever. There have been faster and heavier players, ultimately just copying and speeding up other people's styles - Moon and Entwistle were original, innovative. This song is God talking! Who4ever

  • I don't know

What about John Bonham and John Paul Jones?

Nah nevermind, I think Moon and entwistle are better.

  • yes they are

  • @pinballwiz01 , HELL NO! Jones & Bonham kill Moon & Entwistle!!!

This is one of The Who's best songs! One that for some reason doesn't recieve FM radio play? Execs don't know shit about what the public wants to hear!

  • @amstell13 lol this song is very good but not their best the moon and john revolutionized their instruments with their playing and pete's writing put them in a category of their own beyond all others plus everything moon done bonzo wanted and copyied but he never reached the same level as moon did and radio is playing only bullshit anway i can't belive you are so naive you mesure quality by it

  • @Korph88 ,Bonham didn't reach the same level as Moon? Your right, Bonham exceeded it! Bonham was faster, he kills Moon for his bass drum playing alone, & Bonham made the better grooves! I say Edward Van Halen's solos sound the same, well Moon sounds the same in many of the who's songs! Moon didn't even play a hi-hat. I like Moon, & even think he is a top 5 drummer ever, but he isn't better than John Bonham!

  • @amstell13 KEITH MOON IS THE ONLY DRUMMER TO NATURALLY EXCEL AT AMBIDEXTROUS DOUBLE BASS DRUMMING!!!Whn he playd wth just 1 foot, he plyd with his right foot.Thn, whenever he used both, he would play LEFT-HANDED.& whn John playd a bass line was when he would use 1 foot, then then 2 whn John did fancy stuff. What he did with his toms depended on Pete and what he did with his cymbals depended on ROGER'S SINGING.He would also do a fill whenever he wasn't doing anything else.Whole time hit cymbals.

  • @pinballwiz01 yeah but Daltrey couldn't even hold up Robert Plants jockstrap back in the day lol

  • Show it to Catholic kids at their Sunday school so you can explain Heaven and Hell and the differences between them. Lol its a joke though.

  • Lol they should show this to little kids in sunday school.

  • They should show Dead Babies by Alice Cooper instead.

  • Rofl....I'm a former Catholic, I'd love to see the shock on the Sunday school teacher's face!

  • Best band ever! Thanks for the footage!

  • Awesome.

  • It's like they put the pedal to the floor from the second they start, then they put it through the floor!

  • I don't know why but this is my favorite Who song.

  • this song kicks

  • great song
