okay, i can understand someone preferring the C64 version of the title song, but the entire rest of the NES soundtrack takes a steamy monster dump all over the C64 version and it's not even close.
Kind of impressive in that many say this theme is inferior to the C64 version yet still pretty good, especially considering that the C64 theme exhibits some of the best music exhibited from that computer.
Rob Hubbard knew what he was doing, and he did it well.
I don't see how anyone could like this version better than the C64 version (WHICH ABSOLUTELY ROCKS). This version is actually missing a ton of notes due to the capabilities of the NES. There are so many parts that should be chords but it's just one note. Still a great tune, but not this version.
@Gfors85 The C64 version actually uses a sound sample of a real guitar in its intro and is in fact the machine this game was originally designed to run on... Back in the days when EA released more games for the home computers (atari 800, c64, apple ii, etc) than the game consoles.
I'd rather hear digitized Electric Guitars than the dull thud they replaced them with on the NES. Other than that, the NES did an decent job vs the c64.
@Scioneer nope, I had obviously NES? and when I got this game I thought and still think that like all the tracks are awsome, maybe not for high jump. but the rest are killers. but my point here is, everyone likes different, just accept it.
I was talking about the c64 in general, your post seemed like you hated the c64 beyond just Skate or Die. Many Apple II and Atari 800 series owners were envious of the c64s abilities, so my last post was more of a sarcastic joke about the old "8-bit computer wars" of the eighties. Yeah, I know everyone has different opinions, no problem with that.
@Scioneer nah, I had a friend who owned an atari. I hade something much older that I dont remember the name of. it had like tennis, squash and suck simple games all built in. you just flipped a switch.
@snake2006 Hello. This is not crap. Within the range of NES themes, this is one of the best ever, also including: Ninja Gaiden series and Double Dragon I and II, for example.
SKATE! OR! DIE!
SKATE! NOR! DIE!
SKATE! XOR! DIE!
SKATE! AND! DIE!
SKATE! NAND! DIE!

Wow. To each their own I guess. You'd be the first person I met that thinks that.
This rendition is pretty lousy to me.

Your joking.
The C64's version is a billion times better than this crap.
But then again the NES can't even touch the awesomeness of SID.
