  • i didn't see the young turks i don't even watch their bullshit ...total irresponsible journalism..its not even journalism it is propaganda ..this chuckle head has done nothing buy lie about conservatives..if things go really bad in the us in the future it isnt going to go well for him and people like him (the reporter) i hope him and people like him get what they deserve..

  • the way the republican party is heading right now, the "revolution" they keep talking about will raise its ugly head and the republican party will be digging earthworms out of their nostrils for the next 200 years

  • 2 parties is not health competition

  • the country is trying to move right... LIBERALS! its time to hold our ground! HOO AH!!!

  • why the hell do you want only two parties, thats kind of a pest and kolera situation, more parties in coalisions is better, then you can vote fore the party thats make more sense for you,if i lived in the us neither the democrats or the republican dinosaurs would have gotten my vote

  • the gop is mainly democrat lite.

  • time hasn't treated this douchebag's opinion very well.

  • The Republicans keep killing their moderates. That may work in the short run, but be harmful in the long-run. Those ultra conservative candidates will not stay in office.

  • Ironic that you call pure self-preservation a typical republican tactic. I say this because the Democrats just rammed through a health care bill that no one was allowed to read, was one of the most partisan pieces of legislation in history, and that they are now trying to intensify through reconciliation. Is it sound politics to lie about a bill, saying that it needs to go in effect immediately, and then stipulating in the bill that most of it's benefits will not be available for another 4years?

  • Grand Old Party-Party???

  • honestly, honestly, I doubt this will happen at all. even if the GOP did split, moderate democrates would join with the new middle republican party as fast as moderate republicans. If the "ultra-right wing" half decided down the road to re-absorb the moderate party, the GOP will be reformed with even more guys than before. It would be conservatives and moderates versus liberals; bear in mind that most everyone is moderate one way or another.

  • so then dont watch, obviously your not to sharp if you'll sit and continue to watch someone insult you.

  • Do the right wing honchos have ANYONE with credentials, with the ability to make logical arguments from actual facts?

Dubya, Harriet Myers, Bolton, Robertson, Bucchannan, McCain...

not an Ace in the pack! GROW up, right wingers! You can't make atom bombs from gun powder. You ALL come from gun powder stock and have no chance to compete in anything ever again unless you get some REAL brains and some REAL CLUES!!!!!

  • Gingrich is bluffing, he has already become more centrist by embracing the notion of global warming. He intends to move to the center. Moving the party to the right would be a miscalculation. The Republican party will not be destroyed because once he throws the far right evangelicals under the bus, they will vote for him or the eventual nominee anyway because they will not vote for Obama.

  • i hope your wrong unlike these guys i want te republican party to fall apart and for the democrats to splinter

but first i want the republican party to die out

  • "strateguary" is that even a word mr cenk lol

  • I don't believe the USA is headed for a three-party system. The way the republicans are falling off of cliffs, it will be a one-party system. Now America's sweetheart, Sarah Palin, has decided to quit her job as governor of Alaska and runn and hide, like other republicans. Newt, Rush and Cheney will be the only ones left in the far rightwing of the GOP very soon. That does not constitute a third party.

  • you are a freakin idiot

  • Like Cenk says, let Newt do what he wants to do. If Newt thinks ultra-conservative talk is going to get anywhere, he's free to think that. Unfortunately, the reality is that people aren't attracted to that kind of position anymore.

Newt is hastening the Republican Party to the grave. However, the country still needs a two-party system. Maybe something much more appealing will come into its place? We can only hope.

Sorry Zemo, but the koolaid you're drinking is a lot more bitter than ours.

  • The conventional wisdom in '76 was that Reagan was putting the final nails in the GOP coffin.

Carter's failures, like Obama's will hasten a GOP resurgence.

The difference this time isn't the Gingriches or te Limbaughs or O'Reillys... it's the liberal academics, media, money, and entertainment industry in tight ranks on guard to preserve their newfound power.

Axelrod sold a corrupt mayor to Chicagoans, he exploited white guilt for a POTUS, bigger snake than Rove.

  • LIBERTARIANS OH YEAH

  • 2 parties is a free market of ideas?

A free market of ideas allows for Gingrich to do and say whatever he thinks and let those who agree join a return of a base for the Republican party to regather and, in time, see if that strategy results in growth.

If not, then on to the next idea.

But the watered down, so-called centrist approach is a Democrat imitation and right now the Democrats have the monopoly on B.S watered down please everybody politics.

Might take time, but I'm for a true GOP.

  • How can these tax and spend socialist democrats be re elected?

The Obama Ds are wasting our money even more then Bush did.

  • because spending money on our health, environment, and society as a whole is a "waste", when compared to shoveling billions upon billions a month to get our soldiers killed in iraq for no reason.

  • No wonder Newt loves sausages & wieners, LOL!!!!!!.

  • Newt is CFR.....

  • Country fried retard?

  • I would rather the Dems keep winning and the party finnally take notice of We the people and our Constitution. Ron Paul should be the head of the party or pull us all over to a third party!

  • it's nuts if you believe in 2 party system anyway

  • Cenk: "What kind of political strategics is this?"

    Me: "The best damn one!!!1"

  • The party formerly known as GOP is digging its own grave, and Gingrich controls the flow of shovels.

    GOP = R.I.P.

  • survived by two sons:

    GOP = Gods own Party

    GOP = Gay off Party

  • How do you not know what the "right wing" is? You are bitching about them in every single video. And then you point out the fact that Rush doesn't know what socialism is?

  • I blame Obama's winning on 3rd party votes.

  • There's no way this would be good for conservatives. I know of several people who voted third party this past election. I can imagine how many people voted 3rd party. I blame those votes on Obama's winning.

  • TYT I'll remember this so I waste no more time listening

  • newt is a true representative of conservatism and its better to have newt run and lose than to have a republican president that doesn't represent conservatives.

  • have at it hoss

  • ...i dont understand whats the problem with Gingrich doing this. I dont agree with him at all, but if he split, at least he is breaking the dichotomy of American Politics. This "either...or..." in American Politics is what pushed corporatism and other anti-democratic and anti-populist actions by the government. For example, if you are "pro-life", then the Republican party is for you and all the ideals they might have are yours also. When did we throw out individualism for this partisan bullshit?

  • Zomgz, that'd be so awesome if they split :D

    Obama 2012!!!! :P

  • Newt is an old dork.

  • YES! Old and totally irrelevant.

  • Newts gona create the American Taliban maybe. Berkas and beards and death to the infidels - i-d-i-o-t

  • I would not want Newt Gingrich to join the party but I support a new conservative not neo-con party. Republicans tried to win elections by selling out to special interests. It works temporarily but long-term it is a disaster. So I am all in favor of this.

  • Sarah Palin/Joe The Plumber in 2012!!!

  • I agree, if the republicunts want to be forever a forgotten party, thats a perfect ticket!

  • LOL, I hope more people like Newt Gingrich join the Republican party.

  • The next president of the United States will be....

    Michelle Obama.

    Watch and see.

  • ...How would anyone elect a president like this faggot thats out to save his own ass ? Please....

Obama 2012. GOP is FUCKED !

  • That's what a fractured Party does..in-fighting! Gingrich is doing the same stuff that Sarah Palin is doing..leaking stuff to the media, that has them at odds with the GOP, for they can be looked apon as a Leader of the GOP for 2012.

  • What kind of a name is Newt? Are there people called pupa or polwag or tadpole?

Is Newt short for Newtonian or Newton?

Maybe that is the first thing his parents saw after he was born and they adopted the name. I can understand John Boehner(boner) calling himself Bainer because the hard on jokes would be a bit much. It's a good thing no one draws any attention to his funny pronunciation, but can yuh blame the guy, well can yuh?

  • Good. Sometimes if you're broken down and you can't continue on in your current form, as is the situation with the GOP, you have do break down and rise anew. This is the best time possible to do some serious restructuring as well because I think, if you look at how popular he is and how much the American public approves of him, Obama is going to win in 2012 regardless of what the GOP does or who they nominate. They need to nominate a place holder in 2012 and do some reforming in the background.

  • I agree. In 2012 Obama will win again and i'm happy. The odds are far against the GOP in 2012. Also the GOP are losing their loyal base as the years progress & alot of young people are Democrats. But the GOP brough alot of this upon themselves. So they only have themselves to blame mostly for where they stand in public perception.

  • Seems likely but a lot can happen in 4 years. I'm still quite afraid that a lot of people think all our problems will be solved by Obama in his first term. And if they feel he doesn't deliver what they're expecting we could see a pretty heavy backlash quite quickly.

It's hard to imagine he could ever be beaten by the party of Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh but 9 years ago I would have never believed 8 years of Bush could happen.

  • Yeah totally agreed. I'm no fan of Newt but compared to people like Palin he's a bastion of sanity and if that's what it takes.. well they probably won't be ready for 2012 but they might be able to pull together some semblance of an electable party by 2016.

And no matter how much of a lib you are you have to realize having a joke for a republican party isn't good for anyone.

  • I do agree with you in 2016 they stand a "better" chance of pulling a win, although still a long shot but not as long. But i think although they will do better in 2016 they will not win that election either. It might take the next one.

  • I don't know man, never say never ;) But right now it's certainly not looking good for them!

  • The GOP doesn't need to splinter.

The party just needs to kick out people like Palin & Joe the Plumber & Michael Steele.

  • If I had to donate to his campaign, I will!! NEWT GINGRICH for 3rd PARTY 2012!! Imagine if Bobby Jindal or Sarah Palin won the Republican Primary!! :D....Obama would pull a Reagan '84 or Nixon '72!!

  • The GOP lost their minds a while ago, and if they don't get their act together, the republican party could very well die.

  • OH GOD, please let this happen!

  • the stimulus spending is about as expensive as cutting ALL taxes for a year

  • I dont know why republicans love Newt. He hasnt been in office for 10 years...He resign his post. Of course, he could say whatever he wants, he is not an elected official. He doesnt have to worry about votes..

  • It doesn't matter democrat or republican they are both teams on the wrong side. Watch "The Obama Deception" and you will understand.

  • Newt is losing his mind, and the far right is becoming extinct.

  • Just a comment about the video, but you seem a little uncomfortable on the camera. Also saw that you used Windows Media Player for the Gingrich picture. Just some simple things you can fix to improve.

  • Conservative values are not far right wing, they are what made this county. Republicans and more so loony democrats are ruining this county because they are only concerned with politics and themselves, not this county. Go for it Newt.

  • Protection of liberty, property, life, and the pursuit of happiness are what made this country great.

Anything but the free market with a separation between government and economics is consistent with these beliefs.

So the republicans are better than the dems on this one.

However, Republic values miss the mark on social issues. Liberty is inconsistent with social conservatism.

  • Watch Shanedk's videos on economics and politics for reasons why republicans really are no better than democrats on this.

  • I by no means agree with Republicans. They tend to be in favor of corporatism which isn't freedom. I support the closest thing to Laissez-Faire, which I still believe (good vids btw) is the GOP, however much it pains me to associate with them.

  • As Shanedk pointed out in his video about the political false dichotomy and the tax cuts, that stuff about the GOP being for capitalism any moreso than the dems is bogus.

  • Lower taxes is a (not the only one) requirement for laissez faire. Yes, it should match government spending, but in the free market government spending should only be used to protect rights.

  • Depends on what a person defines as "rights"

If rights is used to mean "healthcare" and such, then no (I doubt you mean this, but I"m just saying.)

Granted, I DO agree that funding for the legit functions of government: Sound money, honest courts public safety, pay for politicians, national defense, and roads.

I'm not that big about spending and taxes matching up in any given year, but in the long run I'd perfer to see surpluses.

  • I generally think of rights in the "negative" way, so generally the functions you mentioned. I definitely agree, government should try hard to avoid deficit spending even if it means higher taxes.

  • OK.

I'm more for decreases in spending and taxation.

If the videos from that afq2007 channel were accurate: government spending and taxes leading to low growth and deficit spending. It would makes sense of the inverse being true too: lower (much lower) government spending and taxes leading to more growth and surpluses.

  • On a side note, you shouldn't worry about the tax amounts needing to be raised.

Even if we cut income taxes to a flat rate of 0%, we would still have enough tax revenue to pay for Clinton's federal budget (according to Shane Killian).

That's not including the mass of economic growth that would result from said tax policy changes.

  • Oh, wow, I just looked that up. That's crazy!

  • I saw it from the comments in his video.

Where did you find it (you said you looked it up)?

  • OMG, it's Christmas come early. Run, Newtie, Run! Choose that scary woman from Alaska for VP. President Obama can just play basketball throughout the whole campaign.

  • If Obama wins again. Then that will bring a double of America deserves what is coming. America rolled the dice and hit craps again.

  • If Gingritch and the rest of the neo cons left that party and formed their own party then the republicans will become unstoppable, they will every election

  • LOL hhahahhhahahhahah I hope that is a joke.

  • First question - would this be a bigger split than the one Limbaugh and Steele have created?

Second question - where is our boy PULSAR? Someone's gotta defend this moe-ronity.

  • Is Newt on Obama's payroll?

  • YOU MEAN it isn't splintered already. throw in sarah palin and newt gingrich and kiss the g.o.p. adieu(pardon my french)

  • The only real issue I have with the Republican party is their hypocrites. They want less government, but if it something "against the bible" they want more laws, more government. They only want smaller government when it suits them. Until they are no longer "in bed" with the evangelicals I'm out.

  • So the Democrats are not hypocrites? They want government out of the bedrooms but they want them in the boardrooms?

  • Theres a big difference between the Democrat and Republican party. The Democrat party will never split because 80% of Democrats don't vote on their beliefs, they vote on who's more popular. Beside Regan Dems.

Republicans int a united party as as much as people try to make them out to be.

Republicans are split between Neo-Cons & Zionist aka McCain and Bush. Liberterians & Constitutionalist aka Ron Paul. Paleo-Conservatives & White traditionalist aka Pat Buchanan

  • Well, hell, Teddy Roosevelt did it.

  • I love Teddy, but remember the Bull Moose ticket lost to Taft.

  • Yes, and then Wilson took us into WWI.

Eh? Eh? We've found a loop in the system!

  • I like how this is sounding...Down with the GOP!

  • Think about some other possibilities, Cenk. Imagine if the Republican Party splits into two parts: far right with a new name, and, say, center-right Republicans. Shed of its wackier extremes, a pruned Republican Party (in theory) could hold the center with whatever on its right and the Democrats on the left, and thus do well in the long term.

Hey, the pattern occurs in other countries from time to time (eg. Canada, Israel).

  • Yeah, thats just what America needs.

A washed up, crusty, failed revolutionary from the 90's.

  • Newt's days have come and gone. His pseudo academic strategies are designed to help him make a buck...and of course here's a guy who now wants to convert to Catholicism...guess he will have to convince the pope to annul his two previous marriages so he can receive communion...LOL! Newt, just keep hawking those idiotic alternate reality historical fiction books you have to write with a co-author. That's your forte.

  • lol ok ok lets knock the democrats for once

  • This is bad for everyone... without competition corruption in the democratic party could flourish (not a statement about the Dem's, but just ANY party that goes without major challenges)

  • GOP - Greed, Oligarchy, Power!

Let's put up the Nine Commandments in the Capitol (we'll leave out that adultery one for Newt).

  • Wow.

  • Multiple party system FTW, there are more than just two directions a nation can take!

In this case however it's kinda stupid ^^.

  • The GOP is talking about stripping Michael Steele of his title as President of the Republican Party...if they do that, they can kiss the Afro American and Latino votes goodbye for the next 20 years! Translation: The REpublican Party is a JOKE!

  • like they were going to get those votes anyway, micheal steele is a joke. they might actually gain 3 votes if they got rid of him

  • The republican party is so redundant.

Indeed, good luck to you all.

  • Actually a 3rd party candidate is highly possible in 2012 that will threaten both parties. Obama's popularity is based widely on people that hated Bush and him being the most different form Bush. There are a large number in this country that hate both Republicans and Democrats. This 3rd party, unlike what Newt is threatening, should be more centric. Liberal on social issues and traditional conservative on foreign policy. Democrats look strong because many think there only threat is Republicans.

  • Does Newt even have a job? By what authority will he split the party?

  • GOP Party

    Grand Old Party Party?

    Redundancy, my friend.

On liner notes, I agree completely. Keep up the good work.

  • if the US got rid of the gays, the potheads and the illegal borderjumping mexicans the democrats would get no votes

  • Well heck that means in 2012 the democrats are gonna have a massive landslide victory for Obongo.

  • I bet your mother voted for "Obongo"?

  • "if the US got rid of the gays, the potheads and the illegal borderjumping mexicans the democrats would get no votes "

If the US got rid of bigoted idiot hypocrites who allow politicians to take over their churches and use the pulpit to whip up hatred in order to protect a few rich white men, the republican party would get no votes.

  • Seriously pulsar, quit trolling. It's getting old fast.

  • and if we deported all of the fucking retards the republicans would have a hard time finding a new country to give them sanctuary.

  • yay, a regressive, militaristic revolution from above!

  • we need more than two parties, but the American people don't have the attention span for it.

Also, what do you think about a fixed ceiling for spending on a presidental campeign? that way it's based more on message and not on the dollars--might open things up a bit

  • 99 flavours of Twinkies but only two parties to vote for.

  • welp the party is split lol

  • Cenk,

Please, when was the last time that the Republicans were a "thoughful" opposition and not just the party of the wealthy, greedy and the party of "no"? I say all hail Newt! It's time for the Publican party to die and for a new and meaningful opposition party to take its place, whoever that may be. I am a lifelong Demo, but as the saying goes "Power corrupts and abosolute power corrupts absolutely'. Bring on a worthy opponet!

  • Maybe this is a ploy to make the Republican look like the centrist group in 2012 compared to the ultra conservative group that gingrich threatens to form.

if there were 3 parties the republican party may look centrist and dems will look far left. let's just hope people don't forget what the republican party stands for...

  • If that happened though there would be two seperate circuses of clowns...

  • The party needs to split. I usually vote democrat, but it would be nice if there was an actual opposition party and not a fucking circus of clowns

  • Dude two party system does not work. You'll need like 10 parties but that is way too much for the American to understand and create his own opinion.

  • yes the idea is somthing like what italy and iseral has the only problem is that in order to pass any form of legislation you need to form cololitions and in the end you would really only have two parties left and right

  • I don't see how two parties can represent the views of 306 million people. Here in Norway we have 7 Parliamentary parties and we're 4.7 million people, that's a little over half the population of NY City!! What are you guys doing over there? The greatest democracy on earth my ass!

    I say, It's about time.

  • The problem is that a large percentage of our people are just plain stupid and ignorant and the media and government keep them that way. I mean we voted Bush into power twice. An intelligent, educated and discerning population does not do that. In Europe, there may be more prejudice etc, but people are far more knowledgeable about the world and its people.

  • Dam right. And a huge number of people would NOT vote for an intelligent man were based on the idea that he was a socialist, nazi, muslim who murdered people in his free time! But now that intelligent man is changing our country for the better and those idiots still think he's the fourth reich.

  • All this splitting is confusing folks enough. Good grief.

  • Personally I think the Republican Party needs to be split. One for true conservatives, one for neocons.

  • I would LOVE to see the Republican Party split up!! Divide it into the Neocon Party (worshippers of Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman) and the Theocon Party (pseudo-Christian fundamentalist nutcases)! A war between the Wall Street Republicans and the Wal-Mart Republicans! Woohoo!

  • But.... But... I love the two party system. There's no debate without one... but if they leave... WHO AM I GONNA FIGHT WITH?

  • I never thought I'd say this, but I wish Newt well. By all means Newt, splinter the FUCK out of your party!! You do whatever it takes to split the whaco-fucking-crazy's that lead your party and we Democrats will continue to repair the mess left by your party you.

  • actually I think the problem lies more within the weird "first past the post" voting system, which nearly forces a 2 party system, like also in GB.

  • Man, these'll be some interesting times if we get to live through the birth of a NEW party! Like, if the Republicans go the way of the Whigs or something. That... will be damned weird to go through.

  • It is nuts the same thing happen in Canada, which gave the other political party a majority power for 3 elections. However, the party that split still have not recovered.

  • There is one way it could be a smart long-term strategy (if it's not just an idle threat). The R's are weak now anyway and rebuilding. The Nader/Green movement's point was to influence Dem policy so that in subsequent elections the Dem's would act like a left party rather than weak sauce Repub's. And it kinda worked: Edwards, etc. So a Gingrichite party could make the ideological focus of the R's more intense -- although that might not help them either. But it would help the ideologues.

  • I honestly wonder what Gingrich would call his little splintered party. I'm thinking he might call it something Orwellian like the 'Populist Party'.

  • I think they should call it the Mavericks... LMAO I so hope this happens... That way the rest of us can get on with our lives... seriously if the republicans are ever gonna stand a chance again they need to change something cuz this dirt digging and word twisting crap just isn't gonna cut it anymore... The American people voted against it in the last election. :)

  • Yeah, I think the Republican Party is just gonna pretty much die away. It's become nothing more than the hardcore segment of the corporatocracy's consumer base and it's made up by a bunch of braindead wingnut fundies. I mean, I'm basically anti-political party, but the Republicans have proven themselves to be the worst of them all.

  • Oh that is too funny. All I could see was Sara Palin getting all mavericky at a campaign rally full of "real Americans". LMAO, whew. Cenk's ratings would go through the roof.

  • Cenk believes in 2 parties that are strong and the free-market of ideas. Cool, but why are we so closed to the possibility of a multi-party system? Personally, I think it would be awesome to have a 3 party system: Democrats, Greens, and Libertarians. MAYbe Independants can come too, but only if they promise not to be Republicans in disguise. Here's hoping the GOP and their unoriginal and unproductive taxation ideas go the way of the Bull-Moose party.

  • Agreed.

I live in Canada, where it isn't a 2 party system, as it should be. A 2 party system is unnatural and naturally polarizes groups of people because human beings aren't so black and white, but they're forced into it because they have no other alternatives

  • Newt is bluffing. If they go more right, they will die. If he splits the party, they will die. Why on earth does he keep getting elected? He's obviously brain dead.

  • He keeps getting elected for those very reasons.

  • The Republican Party are coming to grips that Obama has something that they(including Limbaugh,Fox News)will never have:a man(or woman)are smart and understands what Americans wanted. The rest of the world wants change and they see Obama as a leader who will force other leaders to change or else they will lose trust that they have with their own people.

  • I have been saying to split the Republican "base" for years... go forward!

  • That would be the splintering of the super retarded hypocrits from the main body of just retarded hypocrits. A man has to take a stand, on matters of principle.

  • We are witnessing the death of the Republican party and it is a suicide.

  • They are going out, not with a whimper, but a bang. They either toss around the same ideas from 30 years ago or they deliver statements and proposals which are completely nonsensical leaving the listening audience responding with a resounding "The Hell?!?".

  • I have no doubt at all that Obama will steamroll anyone that opposes him in 2012. He will crush anyone that dares to run against him.

  • Cenk... we need more than 2 parties. We need 3, 4, 5, 6... let's have an actual marketplace of ideals. LETS BE MORE THAN 1 PARTY AWAY FROM A MONOPOLY IN IDEALS!

  • Or better yet, erase it in entirety and act like human beings with individual ideas. Then there'd be no idiotic ingenuous defending or attacking of the other side's ideas.

  • Sorry, I meant dinsingenuous*.

  • Individual ideas are fine, but we have to have an agreement on some stage. WHat would we erase. The party system?

How can you do not attack another sides ideas? By stating "Raising the national debt will decrease the value of the dollar as well as increase the burden on future generations and will do future harm" you are attacking an idea like a stimulus bill.

without attacking an idea you can never find the problems until it's too late.

Besides some ideas should definitely be attacked.

  • When I was little, I had the "naive" idea that people voted for these politicians based solely on their ideas.

As I got older, I got to hear about the people like Cenk's dad, who has said "I will never vote for a republican." and my best friend's dad, who has said "I will never vote for a democrat."

Unfortunately, there are way too many people who like the idea of thinking, they're part of something bigger. This is why you have hosts (not Cenk) constantly reminding us we are at "civil war."

  • What you get is altered perspectives in morality. Some people are totally convinced that when Cenk disagrees with Obama, he is turning conservative, because as a liberal, he MUST defend liberal ideas. That is a backwards way of thinking, obviously.

So, the party system would be pretty harmless if you didn't have groups of unquestioning followers. Unfortunately, we do, and that's why I think the party system is insultingly childish.

  • He was a conservative. Now he's a liberal

  • The party system in our government is entirely broken. We were warned of this back in the day of the founding fathers.

Just like they warned us about the Federal Reserve, just like they warned us about being up in other country's business' like we do... etc...

The reason why you want more than 2 parties, is because when you have multiple parties, you divert too many resources attacking them all. So instead it's more feasible to just try to sell your idea like What a Burger commercial.

  • For quite a while I wanted to see Ron Paul as Barack Obama's running mate. I think that would have been a good idea.

After hearing some of the talk that has come out of John McCain's daughter, I would love to see her run for some sort of office or get some sort of chair. Hell she should at least attempt to get Steele's job at some point.

I would like to say that I would vote for a republican, but seeing most of the ones that currently hold power, well.. they need to be more like McCain's child

  • I´d also think that you´d be better off with a european style parliamentary system... Though these too are usually dominated by two parties the option of coalitions (rather than the US-style "winner takes all") allows for the representation of a larger variety of interests/perspectives. Campaigns should be funded with public money based on membership size of the party so that it´s harder for a few super-rich to control the game. Never gonna happen though without a revolution :)

  • By one of the founding father's predictions we are LONG overdue for one. I don't remember if it was Thomas Jefferson or who it was specifically. I'm really bad at remembering who says what, because people say a LOT of things. :P

Despite my inability to put the quote to a person I would rather not do a parlimentary system but possibly either fix what we have or try something new altogether.

Hey if we're really the number 1 nation we better be able to be
