@easypimpin123 The JSF is not much less maneuverable than the F-22 and is more useful because it's a multi role aircraft. 187 F-22's would be enough because Russia are only planning to make 1000 T-50's and keeping 200 of them for themselves and China's 5th gen fighter project is far behind that of the Raptor or T-50.

As far as I know there's no f-22 or f-35 production going on, politicians killed it. WHy? because they just realized its a very expensive plane about 350 mil each, the US debt is so high it has become a national security issue, anyway, was future weapons show cancelled? or what happened to it? i liked it a lot, maybe they cancel it because it was giving away too much info to the enemy, so if somebody knows talk now.
The country spends billions for defense against enemies that don't exist, but our own people are not able to afford decent housing, education. or nutrition. Trillions for weapons of war but no money for people and peace. Does this make sense to you?
I would give F-22 of upgrades like AIRST aka Advance Inferred Search and Track, Advance Electrol Optical, Ramjet AIM-120D, AIM-9X Block 2, Plasma Stealth, upgrade F119 to 2D to 3D TVC, 30mm GAU-8/A, & give more range.
IRST is being implimented but it's getting the F-35's systems, getting anything more advanced is just pure wasting money. The Ramjet will come, it's called the JDARAAM(or something). Plasma stealth is just making unnecessairy cost. 30mm GAU8? 3D TVC is just adding more weight, who the fuck needs better yaw control? That's fucking ridiculous the Raptor can't hold it.
An also cancel the F135 engine is totally useless and bring back F136 which is more reliable than F135. An also give more range, higher rate of climb, more thrust, make if faster at Mach 2.4 or 2.5. If I was the President I would bring back F-22 program and production. I would find way to make F-22 cheap at $100 million per Raptor and lower the cost of the program.
The F-35 can't turn, can't climb, can't run, can't defeat advance Sukhoi fighters (Su-35BM & Su-50), and can't outrun advance SAM (S-300PMU2 & S-400). I suggest congress cancel the F-35A/B/C production and program. I suggest they built F-35D a two engines F-35. An make the F-35D as export only. An also equipped F-35D with AIRST, EO DAS, EOTS, EW, Upgraded AN/APG-81 X-band AESA, CNI, HMDS, 30mm GAU-8/A, Ramjet AIM-120D, AIM-9X Block 2, & Plasma Stealth. An redesign the F-35 with better stealth.

@ResiusOnline You're a little mixed up. The F-22 is dead. The U.S. bought a couple hundred and canceled the project in 2009. I don't think the F-35 is all it's cracked up to be (time will tell), but at this point the U.S. is planning on buying about 2,500 of them for the USAF/Navy/Marines. Multirole includes air superiority, by the by.

It may not have the speed or maneuverability, but if they get someone on their six, they just fire a missile that does a 180º turn.

@nexus1g They didn't buy 2,500 F22's because they don't need 2,500 F22's. The F22 is for air to air. The F35 is for ground attacks. Many more F35's will be deployed because they are more useful on the battlefield than an air superiority fighter.

The most logical decision would be to purchase many more of something that has many more uses. About 200 F22's is probably enough for air superiority, but many more F35's will be required to perform various objectives and roles around the globe.

I see us as still being in a cold war with China, Russia, North Korea and Iran even if we're not actively fighting socio-economic and proxy wars against. It uses sensors all over the aircraft and a display in the pilot's helmet to give a true 360º field of view. They can even see what's through the floor of the plane. And the resolution of these images is amazing.

Furthermore, most of the "supermaneuverability" of the Raptor makes me wonder how useful it is, really, in a dog fight. Anytime the F-22 performs a maneuver of this caliber, it brings him to practically a dead stop making him easy prey from ground attack and in a many vs. many dogfight completely useless. No, an F-22, despite its expensive thrust vectoring, still does turn fights conventionally.
Dog fights don't even exist anymore for starters, it's been beyond visual range always since the gulf war, and performing maneuvers does NOT bring the raptor to a "stop".

And, yes, when an F-22 performs a cobra maneuver, they are effectively sitting still in the air. A blind kid without hands could throw a rock and hit it while it's performing one of thoe maneuvers. Thrust vectoring is a completely pointless expensive PoS. Unless it's being used like on the F-35B for STOVL. At least then it has some practicality to it.

It's a little bit worrying that the F-35 can only carry two Air to Air missiles if a bomb load is included into it. And considering that two missiles are fired to attack a single enemy aircraft it might not be too survivable... The way they talk this aircraft in this show is a little... unusual.

The Royal Navy has gone off the VTOL variant. Too complex, too much servicing, loses too much performance compared with the catapult version,and if the aircraft returns to the carrirer with bombs on board, it can't land and has to ditch them in the sea.
@TheMostWantedR1 This is a US/UK program that started in 1993 and is designed to save money in the long run. The JSF program was the result of the merger of the Common Affordable Lightweight Fighter (CALF) and Joint Advanced Strike Technology (JAST) projects. It is less expensive than the F-22 and the naval variant won't beat up the airframe on take off and landing giving them a longer service life. The maintenance on conventional carrier-based aircraft is incredible.

It IS designed for dog-fighting, but the Raptor is stealthly and designed to supercruise at untouchable altitudes, use a very powerful radar and scanner system to detect enemy threats below and around it at incredibly long distances. You'd be dead before you knew what was coming. the Raptor has a kill to loss ratio that completely dwarfs the typhoon. 144-0. Nato pilots stated they would rather ust the Raptor. This is fact, look it up.

@ResiusOnline You're a little mixed up. The F-22 is dead. The U.S. bought a couple hundred and canceled the project in 2009. I don't think the F-35 is all it's cracked up to be (time will tell), but at this point the U.S. is planning on buying about 2,500 of them for the USAF/Navy/Marines. Multirole includes air superiority, by the by.

@nexus1g They didn't buy 2,500 F22's because they don't need 2,500 F22's. The F22 is for air to air. The F35 is for ground attacks. Many more F35's will be deployed because they are more useful on the battlefield than an air superiority fighter.

@nexus1g Yes, now I realize that. :) The F22, despite it's astronomical cost, is a valuable asset for the US with fighters like the J20 and T50 in the works. The most logical decision would be to purchase many more of something that has many more uses. About 200 F22's is probably enough for air superiority, but many more F35's will be required to perform various objectives and roles around the globe.

It uses sensors all over the aircraft and a display in the pilot's helmet to give a true 360º field of view. They can even see what's through the floor of the plane. And the resolution of these images is amazing.

Thrust vectoring is a completely pointless expensive PoS. Unless it's being used like on the F-35B for STOVL. At least then it has some practicality to it.

The JSF program was the result of the merger of the Common Affordable Lightweight Fighter (CALF) and Joint Advanced Strike Technology (JAST) projects. It is less expensive than the F-22 and the naval variant won't beat up the airframe on take off and landing giving them a longer service life. The maintenance on conventional carrier-based aircraft is incredible.

@souro19 The apache is an attack helicopter, not a jet fighter, and the F-117 is a stealth bomber, and not a jet fighter. The F-18 hornet is a jet fighter but was not shot down in a "DOG FIGHT". It IS designed for dog-fighting, but the Raptor is stealthly and designed to supercruise at untouchable altitudes, use a very powerful radar and scanner system to detect enemy threats below and around it at incredibly long distances. You'd be dead before you knew what was coming. the Raptor has a kill to loss ratio that completely dwarfs the typhoon. 144-0. Nato pilots stated they would rather ust the Raptor. This is fact, look it up.

Their main fighter is still the SU27. The huge soviet navy has sunk in Murmansk harbour and Russia spends less on defence than the UK.

@souro19 And where did yoi get that from? Off the top of your head? Biggest nuke ever detonated was the Russian Tsar Bombe of 57 MT. And that was the size of a bus. Nobody makes nukes that big anymore. Most warheads are under a kilotonne now, they are so accurate they don't need to be that big. And you would never get a bomb of 100 MT in a MIRV. Its enormous, size of a bus.
