Thats why you need to come to Holland my love. Search for Awakenings/Awakefest, 5 days off, Amsterdam Dance Event ect. If i understand correctly what style you are refering to you should realy come party here, or anywhere not-american for that matter. Soulfull, grooving, pounding, drumming and slamming techno is everywhere you just need to know where to look. That whole minimal hype never realy caught on for as far as i can tell. It started and 2 summers later it was gone.

Cuz most people are idiots. A great deal of dance-floor junkies don't discriminate between, talented, complex DJing and anything four-to-the-floor, resulting in a lot of shit getting support. Part of it is drug culture - ecstasy makes it pretty easy to not give a fuck - and an emphasis on what sounds cool versus coordinated musicianship. there was minimal techno (also called drumtracks) regis,beyer,hawtin etc back in the day. In late 05' new music much slower and crappyier came out from electro called minimal. two different things with a similar name. most dj's now to keep their jobs switched over. check out marco carola now vs 10 years ago.

Richie started plus 8 back in the early 90s (before m_nus) along with John Acquaviva to release their friend's (as well as their own) records. The plus 8 refers to a function on mixers that sharpens the song by 8 cents.

M_nus was created when plus 8 had a hiatus due to Acquaviva's focus on DJing and not producing.
