  • You look so passionate when you play this song. It adds a lot when cellists and other musicians as well can put feeling into it. ^_^

  • Awesome !

And, love you accent, "après un rêve", haha !!

    Greetings from France !

  • @FishAreJumpinOut Bonjour!

  • OMG! Someone stated you missed on the sad and relief parts. I must Laugh. I heard every intention written by faure hear today in your playing. I loved it. The portrail of the broken heart mixed with major chording of reminensent memories of love lost. Played full of emotion thank you for spilling you heart and sharing with us!

  • I MUST get this sheetmusic arrainged for clarinet ^^ ono

  • It was perfect as a cello teacher playing it :) but was it a bit too fast and I believe you missed the emphasis on sad and relief parts? I am still learning this song :D and I am picking the right style ;)

  • You should listen to Tina Guo's version :)

  • The cello is so beautiful... It has such a wide range and so many beautiful pieces have been written for it. Its sound can evoke emotion, create vivid images -- convey the exact thoughts of the composer as the song was written...

    I should add that I'm a bass player... ;)

  • lol in this piece you can use so many different fingerings in passages its crazy!

  • I'm playing this for my All State audition. I'm having trouble though because for the requirements tempo is quarter note = 60. Its so slow and I'm messing up so terribly. Auditions are in two weeks!!!

  • @94cellolover I hope the audition goes well.

  • i love this song, i am doing it for my ESYO addition!

  • @413cello Good luck!

  • gracias,benisimo,muy bien hecho

  • buena gordo!

  • he isn't changing anything. Faure wrote a song, originally for the voice, and it had words along with it, the poem. The song was adapted into some instruments (without the words, of course) and then the lower octave came about. The original with voice does not have this octave change because, well, they had to use their voices and that would be very difficult to pull off. So he just chose to play strictly by the original. No need to criticize.

  • hmmm maybe stick to the way its supposed to be played

  • nice intonation and overall performance, goat vibrato is too intense for me.

  • Very nice! (: I like when it is a bit slower ... And I think he should start in a lower octave first.. But still very cool job!

  • Hmmm I thought the orginal hat it octave lower in the beginning. At least all the version I've heard and also the clarinet arrangement that I have is in the chalmeau register until bar 17th.

  • bow flooooooat

  • One of my favorite pieces

  • yeah, when i've played this. i have started in the the lower octave first instead of starting high

  • WOW! shivers and goosebumps! soo beautiful and lamenting. and the description is very suiting--i love it! i love it! i play violin--but now i want to play the cello!

  • Wow. I've just started singing this but have it for cello too and absolutely adore it.

  • I love this piece

  • wow how snobish of people to give you a thumbs down for stating your opinion. I will give you a thumbs up on your comment. every one else can eat it.

  • Shouldn't the first verse be an octave lower?

  • I thought of playing it like a singer sings it. It is in the same octave both times.

  • definetly yes

  • This is a beautiful piece...it only takes the first couple of notes to put goosebumps up and down my arms.

  • I'm learning to sing this song at the moment, and it's so much nicer to sing along to the cello then just the piano :) thank you.

  • beautiful

  • a nice tune the cello have

  • A lovely piece beautifully played. I love Cello Journey! Maybe you could post a video of Faure's Pavane? Please?

  • ct une trés belle interpretation,

je trouve que ce quil y a de mauvais c le fait d'avoir commencé une octave au dessus!!!

    ça donnait tout le charme;

je le sais, je joue ce morceau au triangle

  • I would love to play this song day it makes the heart feel great beloved

  • damn, you play this so well, thanx a lot man!!

I am really impressed by your vibrato, do you press hard with the thumb when doing vibrato in thumb position?

  • I love this song. I am singing it for my college audition in a few months. Good interpretation and execution of the piece.

  • Good luck in your audition.

  • hey i was wondering how long it took both of you to learn this peice becuase I'm trying to learn the piano part so i can acc.. my friend who is playing the cello. Beatiful playing too

  • I think the piano part is fairly playable.

  • Beautiful song and interpretation

  • Is the singer's melodoic line the one taken up by the cello here, or is it something else altogether?

  • Yes it is the singer's melodic line on the cello.

  • I played it on a masters cours with 5 celli....i love Fauré!!!you played it very lovely!keep on playing!

  • Isn't the first section of this an octavelower than you played it? Confusing, but still very nice

  • I try to play it like the original voice version with the melody both times in the same octave.

  • The cello..The instrument of a broken heart, filled with much sorrow in each string a persons memories last forever.

  • Beautifully said!

  • Its is surly a beautiful piece... This version is awesome... In fact, the instrumental version makes the vocal necessity obsolete...OUTSTANDING!
