ha, mate you dont know the half of it, the car was handed to me and topology was sooo bad it completely bogged down the puter, a proxy fixed that and a lot of hand keying. the shadow was composited and animated (yes separately from the car) in Fusion, the shadows opacity, translations and edge opacity, all animated by hand, actually there are two layers of shadow created in fusion. the day night stuff was simple RGB and levels.
Not bad. Some good audio. There's bits where the car doesn't quite look right, especially as it goes around a corner and then speeds up really fast, but I know the pain of hand animation.
Also, it looks like you have the footage played twice, but with different colours and levels.
from a moving train.., and then graded it to all look the same (the composite that is).., the scenery is real footage.
shadowing done in Fusion.., not maya.., duped the car, flipped and scewed it.., desaturated it, blurred it.., then keyed it every 3-5 frames.., at times.., every frame.
