Why are people saying the evo has like $45,000 invested in it ?? the z06 is a awesome car but these 4g63 engines are rock solid!!! I bought a 92 talon awd for $1500 and spent like $4000 on parts and i am pushing 32psi and making 639awhp on pump 91 with meth. this is also my DD.

@ArchAngel2911 Evo's are meant for high boost, they come out factory at 19 psi. Thats higher than most cars can handle. 33 psi is high for pump gas yes, but for E85 that's avg. I have 106k on my car and i'm at 27 psi. Still stock motor.

How would a rear wheel drive car have an advantage from a roll. No one has an advantage from a roll. Also the evo has more power than the vette at the motor. It loses a lot through the drivetrain being that it has to put it to all 4 wheels and not two. Good race. By numbers alone I would have called it a tie, but probably would have gave it to the vette by a little bit.
@888mexico Stock, yes they are in fact 2.0L. this car has a crank shaft from a 2.4l mitsu motor, & with the appropriate parts makes it a 2.3L stroker.
Boosts makes the displacement irrelevant. 33psi>10psi plus the c5's were much slower than the c6's and a procharged c6 would have killed that evo. But, still a pretty cool ride

Both cars are great end of the day the v8 would win in the long run were the 2 litre will slow down

I've also seen some very nice vette's pulling big figures, it's power to weight ratio at the end of the day.

How would a rear wheel drive car have an advantage from a roll. No one has an advantage from a roll. Also the evo has more power than the vette at the motor. It loses a lot through the drivetrain being that it has to put it to all 4 wheels and not two. Good race. By numbers alone I would have called it a tie, but probably would have gave it to the vette by a little bit.

Boosts makes the displacement irrelevant. 33psi>10psi plus the c5's were much slower than the c6's and a procharged c6 would have killed that evo. But, still a pretty cool ride

how much boost was the vette at like 5 psi.
I have a friend with a vette that has the same build except his is sts tt and it made 700 whp and 750 lbstq at 6 psi. that blows my mind how much power to how little boost.
that being said I plan to crush him with my 2j powered fc rx7.

@mybeatmhz THIS evo is a bit better than THAT vette, yes. the AMS Evo is a Beast. Vettes are superior to EVOs in most things other than all terrain rallysport. I've loved evos since 5th gen.
But regardless of that you know this Evo is a top of the line street car, this vette kept nearly neck and neck with it but you're still willing to say it sucks? Take your head out of your ass and give credit where its due. This vette is amazing, as is the evo.

@mybeatmhz turbo kit - 3500, internal kit 2,000? maybe for a chinese knock off. looking closer at 4,000 for internals. 2k for machine work, including cylinder head work, if you think a stock evo transmission can hold that power you are high and stupid. getrag trans ~2500, dual plate clutch kit ~800, wheels and tires ~1200, standalone engine management ~1500 at least, then you get to factor in the cost of tuning.
