  • you guys fucking rock!!!!

  • Sounds they had to catch a jet airliner!!!! :-)

  • Where were the censors back in 1977? Mr. Miller used the "S" word in his lyrics. That's great!

  • Big wet vagina

  • Is it odd that I discovered the original (Paul Pena's) version before this one?

  • Everytime I listen to the intro I imagine that Clapton is going to sing : "I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees".

This version is way too fast, I prefer Paul Pena's.

  • What year was this?

  • That tamborine guy is jacked up big time! wow! amazing bad and a different faster arraingment is ok for a change

  • Sounds like they were in a hurry to get it over with, pity.

  • this sounds like BTO

  • I love the faces that musicians make when it's their solo time!

  • Rockin that tambourine bro.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMunchy01 - No Kidding Bro !!!!!

  • Gay performance, ick

  • @tommyhollis u are an absolute tool to ever say such utter nonsense u have alot of nerve to disrespect a musical legand like steve u fuckin moron he wrote alottt of original songs dipshit

  • way to rock it out!

  • Steve miller, the most over rated singer in rock n roll he makes money by doing other people music what is the word im looking for.............plagiarism.

  • @tommyhollis Led Zeppelin did the same thing, but they're both great bands. They're entertainers and musicians, and they do a hell of a job at both.

  • @tommyhollis An what EXACTLY did he plagiarize? We're waiting.....

  • @brianthompson72 Miller never got any royalties from Jet Airliner, Paul Pena, the song's writer did. All Steve did was record it after having heard it and liking it. No plagiarism. Paul's version finally got released in 2000.

  • 20 people are scared to ride a Jet Airliner.

  • :O /|\

    ULLAH!

  • @The31415927 Big O Jet Airliner Don't carry me too far away OOH Big O Jet Airliner Cause It's here and I've got to stay.

  • If I was a muscian,I'd be proud to be this man,Steveie "Guitar" Miller

  • This version sounds different than the version I'm used to listening to.

  • @Cyclops236 it's cause it's being played faster and in a different key than the original recording as well as steve's more recent performances.

  • Too fast.....

  • ZinGruRoe

your 16 and you dont know how to spell!

  • @hgftufquq You're not sixteen and still can't spell...

  • yup they be awesome! I am 46 and remember them very very fondly (to say the least) when I was 14 years old.

  • miller looks so wasted

  • miller looks so wasted

    i just didnt catch it

  • @akomada90 Garry Mallaber dude!

  • @akomada90 Garry Mallaber dude!

  • Love it, but i'm just not feeling the tambourine lmao

  • @yamachicken needs more cowbell

  • How is age a qualifier to judge music? If a song is good is it made better by the fact that a 16 year old or 84 year old like it?

  • @BakkaAmerican I think the point people try to make is that they feel it is a truly great song or band that can stand the test of time. For example most teenagers now are either into screamo or that bubble gum pop stuff, but for a few of us we alow true music to shine through. So I don't think they are saying age is a qualifier to judge music, that is just simply their way of complementing it.

  • These guys are fukkin real men. They wear suits.

  • Meh good song but I hated that solo.

  • @Rushworshiper92

i second that. that solo made my hair stand up; and i am bald!!!!!

  • Seen them in Sydney Australia back in the 1990's.......

  • This is the gheyest Steve Miller band ever!

  • this was apparently the big 80's double espresso version.

  • Damn... Needs more tamborine?? Dude looks like Will farrell with the cowbell LOL. Don't get me wrong great freakin' road song, just jokin'..

  • crap can some one help? I justrremembered this song sorta its kind of about a guy and a girl but I'm not sure who it's about or who it's by. I think the name of the song is a guy's name and a girl' name. like Sara and john by whoever but I dont remember the name of the people.

  • @XwashburnbassplayerX

Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp?

  • @XwashburnbassplayerX Billy Joe and Bobby sue? Steve Miller "Take the money and run"?

  • Been a big fan & collector of Steve Miller band since I first heard them (70's)

Never heard or seen this video before. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me where this cincert was & when?

  • @ReidBlacksheep This is the 2. Open Air festival at Loreley/River Rhine/Germany, August 20th 1983. The line-up of the festival was Dave Edmunds, U2, Stray Cats, Joe Cocker and Steve Miller as the closing act. It was broadcasted by German TV and Radio.

  • how old is this video? anyone know?

  • NIce live version!

  • Whats the backup guitarist doin with a Strat body and Tele neck?

  • Bill Murray on guitar and lead vocals

  • Great chorus!

  • it woulda been pretty sweet to see them live in the good ol' days!

  • @manohman101 not in that pink jacket.

  • @manohman101 I heard he's just as good today

  • never knew how he looked like until now!

  • More tambourine!

  • is it me or does the beginning sound like crossraods?

  • Ha I was thinking the same thing

  • HAHA 0:19 to 0:23 straw hat and beardy right in the front there made me laugh

  • ROFL! Looks like the uy from the hangover!

  • you all trashin them down, let's see your stupid ass up there. What cat got your tongue, fuckin posers!!!!!!!!

  • hahahaha holy crap, look at the dude with the tambourine at :15 and :53!! he's going nuts

  • This was crap compared to his earlier live. This was an attempt to sound more Euro-techno. Disgusting. Trust me...I lived SMB in the 70's and loved him - - he rocked. But this...no thanks. It's crap.

  • oh man, this is for a long time - The Steve Miller Band at the Rockpalast festival on the Loreley, Germany! If I have seen in 1980 as a Kiddie even on the German television - in parallel in addition the live transmission also ran in the German radio stations. I have the cassette on which I recorded the gig still today!!! Great concert from a great rock time - thank you very much for uploadin'!!! Rockin' greetings from Germany!!

  • oh man that is the worst guitar solo i've ever seen

  • Love this song and the band but this is like Spandau Ballet doing a cover

  • If i would play the electricguitar in a band i would do it like that. And in a black suite, not the pink.

  • Too fast and too 80's sounding they had it right the first go around back in the 70's.

  • hepped up on goofballs is my guess

  • Good job but why'd you play it so much faster than the original? Oh I see Frankster81 asked the same thing :) "Coked up", too funny!

  • I LUV all of there songs! They rock!

  • Livin in the USA was a 1968 hit. . but you are right, most of his stuff came out in the early 1970's.

  • Some wedding going on or what.? Crap Crap Crap

  • Very talented song writer, nice voice and dedication to the guitar. Back in the late 60's - his music caught a whole generation.

  • @74LesPaul you mean 70's..

  • I like this song very much but why did this band play it so fast?

  • coked up

  • to fast

  • @ColdToiletSeats where then?

  • @kaisersteev they are playing the song at the wrong tempo

  • RIP Norton

  • Norton Buffalo Died a few weeks ago!

    Such a talent...UNREAl

  • RIP Norton Buffalo

  • I think he's still with us...

  • That Miller fellow & the band is really cool. Pink sute & a male dancer. Real nice bassplayer & the guitarsolo is awesome.

  • Hey, what's Kevin Kline doing playing guitar and singing at 1:31? :)

  • One of the best songs ever made from an album that is one of the best albums ever done.

  • man im 16 and i love steve miller band! they gotta be pretty frieken awsome if they appeal to my generation let alone a hard rock junky like myself

  • @ZinGruRoe

There are...go find all that you can and savor the artistry !

  • @ZinGruRoe except that you blow

  • @nerdflanders8710 how do you figure you dont even fuken know me

  • @ZinGruRoe while they are pretty freaken awsome...sadly i don't think most people of our generation would know who the steve miller band is...call me cynical or ignorant...thats just what i think

  • @ZinGruRoe I keep seeing these comments about age. I'm not sure why age is a qualifier to judge music. The fact of the matter is Classic Rock is one of the first generations of music in which the next generation actually likes the previous generation's music. My personal opinion is that stadium rock has a large say in it. You could also point to MTV or Vh1, although I think they have less impact. The fact that your favorite team is at fourth and goal with seconds remainging and ACDC comes on...

  • @ZinGruRoe Wanna start a CCR and steve miller cover band? I'm 17

  • @ZinGruRoe you make a very valid point my friend.

  • That band is too cool!!!!

  • man that soloist has definietly been influenced by jimmy page in someway

  • Thats exactly what i thought

  • i want his guitar, thats the shinyest strat ive ever seen lol

  • when played this fast, in this key, it sounds exactly like the riff to Crossroads [Cream] im just surprised i never noticed this shit before. wow

  • Not really..

  • First thing I thought about when I saw the tambourine guy.....

    Needs more cowbell.

  • LOL! That joke never gets old. :)

  • I thought that the song could do with more guitar& Less tambourine

  • needs more cow bell...lol sorry had to

  • omg! I want his jacket : DD

  • actually, Allan Thicke plays a pretty rockin les paul too.

    I cry with you.

    Paul

  • This sux!

  • ok, wtf???? this is funky shit...not the good kind. And I dig Steve

  • that guy on stevie's right with the red guitar is the biggest dickhead i think i've ever seen prancing around on a stage. even his "chops" are laboured and over the top.

  • super wat een tijd dat was jong zijn op en over yves

  • No. It was originally written by Paul Pena. His version is great. It's much blacker.

  • yup...and he was blind

  • worst version of this top 40 pablum I ever heard. sucks to the 9th power

  • 1jammn57Dewd..I totally agree..I mean really, wheres the fire?? Usually when the rock stars sing them after their prime, they do down a few octaves and beats.

  • Hahahaha, for a moment I thought that could never be the Stve Miller Band and they were some copycats,but...it's actually him?!LOL,man I could've never imagined he was capable of ruining this great song...Steve is not good at all on this one,but that band of his???...It's really too funny to watch.!..I bet they all plunged into a pile of coke before they went on stage..damn,it's so bad ,I'm gonna watch it again!lol

  • Sucks

  • This is pure unadulterated diarrhoea and not a patch on the original

  • yes, and fly like an eagle.

  • This is a horrible version, and aside from mr.pink they are all high on drugs jumping around like a bunch of tools

  • lol

  • The tambourine guy needs to lay off the coffee and red bull before a show.

  • I have heard many versions they have done of this song, but this was has a fast tempo-- almost like Clapton's Crossroads! AWESOME!!!!

  • what is it with the guy dancing & singing all over the place. Thougt this was a rockband..

  • whats the name of this song

  • jet airliner!!!

  • The band is really fucking into it. That is awesome. Why is he singing so low?

  • bc thats how it was origianally sung... if you listen tothe record you hear the tempo of the song. in the old days the steve miller band would play the beginning riffs of their songs to pump up the crowd... :)

  • The music is awesome but why is he dressed for a barmitzvah?

  • This was live from Adam Sandlers barmitzvah in the 80's

  • you know what this song needs? more tambourine! haha hes goin to town on that thing. great song though!

  • and some cowbell! i got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

  • omfg lmao

  • oh yeah baby steve miller! lol wow. that is really cool. and anybody who thinks differently can listen to their stupid rap crap or that hard core metal stuff.

  • hey now, don't be dissin the other music, all music has it's qualities

  • its a different guy, if you look at the suit, Steve is wearing a pink jacket, the other guy is not. Steve has a gold guitar, the other guy has a red one. Two different guys =D

  • my guitar never changes colors or colors during solos:(

  • A little coked up wouldn't you say? They're rushing like crazy and look at how spazzed the two guys to either side of Steve are. I love Steve Miller but this is just awful.

  • Just how long have you been making hits? and how shows a year do you play on the road? just asking... asshole!

  • tumeni notes in that solo.

  • wow nice guitar solo

  • i loved it, i don't know about anyone else, but i love steve miller band, they can do no wrong.

  • what year is this?

  • Judging from the pushed up sleeves on his jacket, I'd say early 80s...probably concurent to their Abracadabra era...

  • Come on, give credit to Paul Pena. He wrote the song. Look it up on here.

  • its alright when the songs are created right from the start with the intention of changing the songs for live performance.

eg, Queen's live songs are heavier and more powerful than their album versions, and the Rolling Stones give alot of their songs a rockier makover live

  • i cant fkin stand it when artists try to switch thier songs up make them sound diff , for a "change of pace" gimme my money back! also the tamborine man, dances the "surfin' bird" to each and every song!!! takes away from STeve millers performance SEVERLY!!!!!!!

  • THAT SUCKED ASS.

  • I can't believe I am saying this but, that sounds awful.

  • this is like what marty mfly would listen to

  • doesn't sound right at all

    horrible

  • I like the original version by Paul Pena much better.

  • the guy playing Tamborine i think is Norton Buffalo

  • He picks his guitar in a very similer way to Mark Knopfler

  • I dont know for sure but the Tamborine man looks and sounds like Grahm Nash, if so I think Steve would be very happy with the video.

  • Yeah what the hell is up with the tambourine man? How annoying. I saw a better live version of this from the 70's and I am trying to find it.

  • let me know when u find it

  • Not bad, seems they are bored with the song. Original song was in Key of C, this is done is Key of A. 4 notes lower then original. It is done too fast too. But one can I say the guy is a legend.

  • Why was everyone in the band so dressed up?
