  • cant tell you how many times I've watched this, amazing.

  • yuck stupid music

  • @gymjustin1 You know you can mute it

  • the only man that can outrun a T1000 lol

  • I wish I was one of the walkers that got to watch ryan hall run by them.

  • Those other guys arent even in the same zip code. Crazy fast half marathon..

  • 21 thousand dollars, ryan doesnt care.

  • What a litter-bug...use the trashcans speedy!

  • Love this!

  • This guy is a living metronome.

  • Cool hug of Sara after the finish. Hall's best race? Or was his marathon trials race for the 2008 OG better?

  • High lactate threshold...............

  • O.K., I'm Stupid. I thought that was Gumby at 7:44!

  • 4:33 miles, damn thats fast

  • such an inspiration.

  • Yeah ryan! Score one for white people!

  • @grantytyta I remember some commentator saying that no white person (in a way) would do half a marathon in under 1 hour, looks like the dick was wrong. It is the type of training the Kenjas do, like training altitude. Paula Radcliffe proved this to be the case when she started to train on high land. Gives them a distinct advantage.

  • Viva la Vida was the perfect soundtrack.

  • i like these cool 240p videos that i can hardly see wtf is going on with my big 24'' 120hz fancy pc monitor.

  • I am back in training after a 6 months lay off and this is my fifth week. My last race was a 5k in 20.43 as a master runner a year back. I have lost 20 pounds and starting to feel great. I hope to get in racing shape pretty soon. Thanks for this video. Truly inspiring.

  • This is my latest inspirational video for long runs. I love this, he looks like he's totally in the zone all the way!

Thanks for the inspiration Ryan (and for the upload eolsonXC!)

  • When I work out on the treadmill set up my laptop and watch this video and watch the miles tick by. Thanks Ryan for your inspiration.

  • 6:38-7:01 The Terminator is running you down.

  • I run 90 to 130 km each week and when when it's tough I think to Ryan and I'm wandering if some days it becomes hard and if he falls, twist his ankles... is it every day as easy as it looks like for him ?

  • When you running this fast, and your in front nothing will stop you...you feel amazing like your in a trance. When he picks up the water and throws it on his head, his legs do not slow down, nothing will impare his motion and rhythm. That feeling is amazing only a few really know it.

  • I think Ryan Hall has more horsepower than a semi.

  • Rupp is going to crush Hall soon.

  • i dated ryans cousin. like a boss.

  • @nightrunner9908 yes he is a great inspiration. :)

  • when im think of Ryan...I hv energy to run more fast...tks for the video..

  • lmao at 467076 comment.!

  • The Woman at 6:15 is priceless :)

  • He is beautiful to watch. Graceful !

  • My coach met Ryan Hall! wish i was on the team then. I met Chris Solinsky though. One hell of a runner he is. Both are great runners.

  • Ryan Hall would be so beast if he was the first man to run a marathon under 2 hours. :O

  • this makes me wanna run

  • No, I haven't forgotten Ryan Hall in the midst of all my chatter..he's an inspiration and we especially appreciate his witness for Christ!

    (unlike my previous rant!)

  • Yeah, I'm OCD, why do you ask?

  • @Ted2864 Now, I open a second YouTube screen, put Coldplay Viva La Vida and start this video at 5:17 and at least capture some of the old feeling - can't get enough of this video.

  • @mm5326 O.K., this is kinda fun...try it again at 5:20, and he will pop around the corner on the first "RULE the.." and it especially feels right because at 7:58, he says "I know St. Peter..." as he passes the camera!

(I guess I just feel better now knowing that I'm not the only one out here.. Thanks

  • Iif it was 90% mental Stephen Hawkings would be the WR holder for the marathon.

  • It's a sad day when we have to worry about lawsuits and copyright issues - this video needs the original audio track back, without which it's simply not the same.

  • @mm5326 This used to be my absolute favorite motivational video. I've watched it a hundred times and have those songs in my head when I run because of this video....Youtube SUCKS because of stuff like this. SUCKS.

  • Houston to London MEN 1. Mo Trafeh, 1:02:17 2. Ryan Hall, 1:02:20 3. Patrick Smyth, 1:02:32 4. Fasil Bizuneh, 1:02:47 5. Jason Lehmkuhle, 1:02:49 WOMEN 1. Jen Rhines, 1:11:14 2. Serena Burla, 1:11:38 3. Nan Kennard, 1:12:03 4. Katie McGregor, 1:12:12 5. Tera Moody, 1:12:30
  • Dream of every runner is to run like Ryan Hall - thanks for an inspiring video, it is like watching a dream that we can play over and over and never get tired of.

  • If the competition thought Ryan Hall went out too fast and was waiting for him to slow down, they can keep waiting.

    10K 28:22 (4:33:91 pace)

    9 mile 40:57 (4:33:00 pace)

    Half Marathon 59:43 (4:33:31 pace)

  • looked like the guys at the waterstation were shokced to see him there that soon

  • i bet 99% of the pedestrians didn't know that an olympic champion just ran by them, or that an american record was set during that race

  • Amazing to think he averaged 4:33 per mile, this should inspire every runner to work harder........

  • Nice! So what is Ryan doing nowadays? Is he planning for London 2012?

  • @meshyis he was going to run Chicago but he dropped out.

  • @crackedjacker The Chicago marathon NO WAY!! He probably didn't want to get shot lol.

  • i wonder what his 5k is...

  • Ryan Hall runs with some serious guts....Get those kenyans....

  • who's the guy that keeps talking about the money at the end?! He just broke the record and all that guy can think about is the money!

  • who's the guy that keeps talking about the money at the end?! He just broke the record and all that guy can think about is the money!

  • how tall is he?

  • @Rmho4hhs 5-10 1,80m --> and he's 130lbs , 58 kg

  • What a great athlete Ryan is. This goes to show that you don't have to be black to run well. It's all about training and discipline.

  • @FourSeasonRunner Like you said it's all about training,Africans athletes train on high altitude mountains paths, where the air is poor in oxygen, sometime shoeless, welcomed by 40 degrees Celsius and a high rate of relative humidity

  • I think Ive seen this video a thousand times! It totally pumps me up before a good run. Good job eolsonXC!!!!

  • Incredible!

At the same time, I wanna just choke those slow walkers/joggers that are in his way and don't make way.

  • love his perfect form when he runs

  • Ryan is blazing a path at lightning pace.

  • Taylor Mooneyham!

    2012 Olympics!

  • the mist is helping him, its creating an atmosphere of silence in a city.

  • Ryan Hall is a truly the first American leading runner none of the Kenyan-Ethiopens who naturalized.

  • Ryan Hall is a fantastic runner! From Ireland

  • I watch this video before I for my long distance run on Saturday mornings. It keeps me motivated for 13 miles, hopefully 15 next week. In the process of training for NYC 2010 Marathon. Remember it's 90 % mental and 10 physical. Wish me luck!

    Brendan

  • @Brizbags Good luck man! Do it! :)

  • @Brizbags is it??

  • @Brizbags hope to see you at the 2011 brother!

  • @Brizbags: It is NOT 90% mental and 10% physical. To say that completely demeans and undermines the extreme training that elite athletes undergo; of intensity that you will never realize. It insinuates that a weekend warrior like yourself could possibly will yourself to be this fast. Trust me, you can't. It is more like 95% physical and 5% mental.

  • @dtddd1161

some great distance runners are born, others are made. one CAN train, and become amazing just like ryan hall. one simply has to put in the time, blood, sweat, and tears. however, most don't have the willpower to try and go to such lengths. and these runners would most likely agree that it is 90% mental, because they push through the pain that most "normal" runners are too afraid to experience, and don't want to experience. that's how you come across such great runners as hall & cox

  • @wookiegamemaster You have to have potential to be this great though. For instance, staying injury free is my biggest problem and my form is crap compared to Ryan's. The normal runner CAN NOT become Ryan Hall. It isn't because they're afraid of pain. Runners in general are stronger mentally than other athletes.

  • watching him attack that hill at 6:36 is just mindblowing

  • was this race at night or very early morning?

  • it would've been in the morning

fun fact, apparently ryan hall's first flight got delayed or something, and he was running on 3 hours of sleep... probably the best race of his life so far

  • I love how at the water stop around 6:00. No one thinks he's in the race. They're on the sidelines Bullshittin and then the guy in blue does a neck-breaker and is caught off guard classic!

  • Sensational clip!

  • This guy kicks ass!!!!

  • @ 6:20 I wonder if those walkers have any idea who just passed them! lol

  • Is it me, or is Ryan Hall kind of fast?

  • @tomhetistgut3 kind of is kind of an understatement haha he passed that wheelchair guy... that's fast

  • @tomhetistgut3 He's got the gift of a long, springy, loiny body. He will gangle his way to the finish line.

  • Thanx Ryan what you said to me was truly inspirational, hopefully i get to speak to you again - Isaiah

  • Thanks for all the positive comments and keep on running

  • @eolsonXC

can you make this available for mobile devices? no one can watch it on their phone or ipod

  • @eolsonXC dude your freaking Erik Olson thats crazy. < that guy 13:59 as a freshmen. I saw a video by eolsonXC and I was like "wouldnt that be funny if it were Erik" and it was <3

  • @inkada1 hahaha thanks

  • this is actually like one of my favorite videos on youtube

    well done!!

  • Nice video and what a 1/2 result. Amazing. I enjoyed watching Ryan attack the incline at the 6:40 point on the video.

  • man i want go running

  • what can i say, that said it ALL! Keep your dream a live Ryan~!
