  • ee ucha :D :D sagol shen :D mezobeli var tu micnob :D

  • Very interesting. I come from the very west of France where we speak a celtic language called Breton, and we have a weird 20-based counting system too, we have words until 20 like in georgian, then another one for 30... and then we count. 40 = "two twenty", 50 = "half hundred", 60 = "three twenty", 70 = "three twenty and ten", 80 = "four twenty", and 90 = "four twenty and ten".

  • @AnDivroer very interesting. I think it's more weird to say three twenty and another ten :)

  • @starklysparkling Well here are some interesting numbers then: c'hwezek war tri ugent (sixteen on three twenties) = 76, pemp war pevar ugent (five on four twenties) = 95, eizh war hanter-kant (eight on half-hundred) = 58, etc. And yes, although most people don't know it, there are 1 million French people who speak like that, additionally to French ;)

  • @starklysparkling are you from georgian bro?

  • @czarnykoks yes

  • @starklysparkling yea you look like georian

  • @AnDivroer that's probably why in French they also say 80="four twenty" and for 90="four twenty and ten" ?

  • @Sirwobblezz I think it does have a celtic root yeah, as I heard that the Gaulic language had this kind of system too. Actually there are words for 70 (septante), 80 (huitante) and 90 (nonante) but they are used only in Belgium and in Switzerland (huitante only in Switzerland).

  • @AnDivroer yea, i used to live on the border to Switzerland and refused to say quatre-vingt-huit in maths class in France. i used the Swiss way of saying it, the proudly French teacher wasn't happy.

  • @Sirwobblezz Oh yeah it can happen... some French people tend to forget that France is not the only French-speaking country and consider that what we don't say here is not correct... don't pay attention to them ;)

  • @AnDivroer

Georgian has a vigesimal number system, based on the counting system of 20, like Basque or Old French. In order to express a number greater than 20 and less than 100, first the number of 20s in the number is stated and the remaining number is added. For example, 93 is expressed as = four-times-twenty-and-thirteen)...

  • Thanks for this!! Keep it doing more videos PLEASE!.. Im from Mexico and I have a friend in Tbilisi.

  • Could you please add some more lessons, for example basic nouns - a man, a woman, a dog, a cat, and put them in sentences, e.g. I have a cat, I am a woman, they are men, etc. It would be great. . .

  • @burnsport1 this kind of language is called agglutinative :)))) and is really difficult to foreigners. most of Caucasian languages are like that. grammar also is relatively different from indoeuropean. this shows how old, interesting and different people we are :))) we have tree kinds of own alphabets. also, we are the first ancient vine producers :)) thanks for watching :)))
