anyone have some advice for running a firsttime game? I was thinking just getting the players to generate some base characters and do a few shootouts to get things started. maybe a "quick and the dead" scenairio
Just what I've been looking for in order to see if I should buy Aces & Eights. Still a bit skeptical... drawing cards for each shot seems like a bit more flash than substance, but knowing me I'll bite and try it out anyhow just since it sounds cool.
Nice combat system.

I would be so afraid of losing the clear plastic thing.

I wonder is this better than Boot Hill?Boot Hill is pretty awesome but this seems cool.

Yes, I agree Boot Hill is a great game. Aces&Eights, IMHO, gives you a lot more options during play and is far more realistic.

anyone who has played this game is this game worth it and does everything come with it besides the deck of card?

The game comes with two "shot clock" overlays - 1 for shotguns, the other for pistols/rifles. You'll need your own deck of cards.
And ye, it's most definitely worth it. :)
