This message of the film goes beyond your ideologies and such political flavors nonsense. It is saying that power corrupts no matter what good intentions the different sides pay lip service to. It is saying that human weakness always ensures that those with power will use it against those without power to ensure they keep it and even if those without power get power, they'll end up doing the same. Man oppresses man, regardless. Nothing ever changes, meet the new boss, same as the old boss, ect.
