Out of the Jewish Post:--When we deal with the Exodus, we basically have one account-the Torah's. . When it comes to the historical analysis of the Exodus, we have only one account, and asserting the historical validity of an event that took place 3500 years ago on the basis of a single account does not put you on very solid historical footing. But . . .
The Exodus is not about history; it is about faith. If we could "prove" it, we would not need to have faith in it
if one does not get it, I don't blame you! I didn't nearly a year ago! So don't worry, this isn't me saying your wrong, this is me simply saying WHY I believe in the Word of God be perfect.
Further, the Bible isn't something that I "want" it to be, the Bible is what God wants it to be. What this really means then is that I see God as He is, and because He is the way He is (which is an infinite perfect being) then His Word has to be.
I will admit, the Bible is an exceptionally difficult text to understand in some instances, mostly due to its longevity and because it does come from the Father, who is so complex...
Yet, we can grasp it, we can have epistemic access to it, and...
Really? One can take a look at the Bible and see it either way they wish. I find it to be full of truth, knowledge and lessons. You find it to be false and erroneous. There ya go.
And I have kept reading it and I keep finding untouchable knowledge.
ps. the reason that I find the Bible to be true is that God, who is an infinite being meaning that He is capable of all things, can not be limited in any way whatsoever. If He is that, then how can something that He "writes" be wrong?
Just out of curiosity; could you give any examples?
P.S. I'm not here to start a whole debate or anything and probably won't even respond with anything more than a thank you. I'm just genuinely interested in trying to understand what it is religious people see in the bible.
Most religious people refuse to accept this, because it's not what they want to believe. "The Truth" is that bible is ridiculous-- full of the most foolish absurdities. It has no place in the modern world. Keep reading, and I'll prove it to you.
Why am l calling the Bible trash? Because in spite of it being advertised as the "Good Book" and full of truth--- the bible is neither good, nor true, and the fact is that believers don't read it with an honest, objective mind, and can't see what I'm about to tell you. Somebody famous once said that the bible has almost as many mistakes as it has words. It is filled with thousands of errors, contradictions, and outright nonsense. Time and time again it has proven to be false.
