The whole punk concept is dead by now, so this is musical and cultural history, why not document it? It's not as though this was some huge mainstream release, it was a relatively small film. Furthermore, it's likely this film has and will introduce alot more people to the Germs, perpetuating their legacy.
This movie was great they were very accurate in portraying the Germs, not to mention that they had some of the actual band mates helping them out. Shane West also did an excellent job in portraying Darby, he actually sang in the whole film with the exception of the scene in the studio and he put on fake teeth in order to really embody the look of Darby. Great film I definitely enjoyed it.

Haven't seen the picture yet, but I was apprehensive when I heard Shane West was playing Darby. Judging by the trailer, he's spot on. . .especially the scene where he's yelling into the mic. It's spot-on with the footage from the old documentary 'Decline of the Western Civilization'. It would be interesting if they explored his childhood more and his involvement with the alternative high-school scientology people. ..but I doubt they get into that.

Um, I think it was left out because Darby never actually wrote that on the floor. It was only a rumor, a local legend amongst punkers who were desperate to build as much legend around their recently deceased idol as possible no matter if it was based in any actual truth or not. From what I've read Darby in reality only left a short, sad note to a buddy of his with the words "my life, my love, my leather goes to Bosco" scribbled on it, then hit a vein with that needle full of smack and died.

Being a member of one of the pioneer punk rock bands and they aren't getting anything out of it. They sound good too. Darby had to be a musicians' nightmare, not singing into the mic, not paying any attention to rhythm.

Well, no "true" Germs fan will tell you it was a great movie, but I'm sure it's not terrible and is probably worth watching if you have an extra 2 hours. Shane West doesn't deserve all the hatred, but he doesn't deserve to replace Darby like he's sort of done. And like somebody elsesaid, all the characters are too clean.

Um, I think it was left out because Darby never actually wrote that on the floor. It was only a rumor, a local legend amongst punkers who were desperate to build as much legend around their recently deceased idol as possible no matter if it was based in any actual truth or not. From what I've read Darby in reality only left a short, sad note to a buddy of his with the words "my life, my love, my leather goes to Bosco" scribbled on it, then hit a vein with that needle full of smack and died.
