  • for the L yuo could hold it normal and do F U R U' R' F'

  • yeah, this is only working about 4% of the time for me, every other time, I have to reset because the edges don't work for PLL

  • edges keep being wrong even when I do all of the algorighms, or even when I try to fix their allignments before doing algorithms...

  • wuts ur fastest time myn is 1min and 10 seconds i know intuitive f2l im learning oll and pll

  • That was amazing. Thank you so much :)

  • what do I do after 2-look oll?

  • @ 10:18 Bruno Mars lol

  • hey lance, take a look at this

    chameleon solve alorithm : (r.U.R'.U') (r'.F.R.F')

    triple sune alternative algorithm(yellow sticker facing you) : F' (r.U.R'.U') (r'.F.R)

so what i did there was just changing the last chameleons F'. its easier to remember, thumbs up so he can see

  • and also, i learned 2 look pll a while ago, but not efficiently until this video, my previous time was a lucky 32 and an average of around 50 seconde

  • i learned about all of this by heart yesterday in about 5 on-off hours of cubing(my favorite is the chamelion, and then the Bruno! :) thanks for the video

  • On "Superman", you could have done: R2, Di, R, U2, Ri, D, R, U2, R . i = inverted xD

  • i learned all the two look oll's in 20 mins and i still remember them xD

  • Hopefully you can answer this. I want to practice, so how do I set up these situations?

  • @bigbaseballs1125 just take apart your cube and reassemble it with the cases you want to practice (orient corners incorrectly;...)

  • @svderubiks Thanks, but little late now, I already know 2LOLL,

  • ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE BEGINNERS METHOD SKIP FIRST LOOK, YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO GET THE CROSS ON THE TOP LAYER! Thumbs up so people can see :)

  • @linemaster1988 with the first part you get faster the cross

    amd with less steps

  • @julianvalencia7 it's the EXACT same algorithms

  • what kind of cube do you own. the colors look great almost painted and not stickers

  • U2' ??? its ok . but not again

  • what is the difference of u2 and u2'

  • @SexyPanda939

Not much, but depending on the situation one might be a little better than the other. In this case, doing U2 in the clockwise direction requires the use of your right hand, which would require you to reposition that hand first. It's a little slower that way.

  • your cube sounds crispy lol

  • Is it really worth learning full OLL?

    Thanks

  • @nimsxmx

I would say, don't try to learn full OLL by brute force memorization. It's not worth it, and it's just going to be frustrating. Instead, learn 2-look and practice it a lot. After a while, you'll start to notice that there are some cases that show up a lot, and you should learn those first.

In fact, I think someone has a site where they list OLL cases by probability... some of them come up like once every 50 solves, and some show up almost never... so learn common cases first!

  • I know lance himself is gone, but if you need questions answered I'd be happy to answer them. I'm almost sub 20 and use full PLL and full OLL, so I'm quite sure I can help resolve any confusion you may have.

  • @rubiksfan33 you really don't need the full 57 cases until you're trying to break sub 20 like me. But for some reason I just straight up forgot the superman alg.

  • For sune i think R U' L' U R' U' L is a lot easier to do fast

  • @Jatlu97 That's called a Niklas, and its really only useful if you're worried about corner permutation. Two gen is just faster.

  • Hey, its summer vacation right now and i want to learn the 2-Look OLL in this vacation. Thank you very much for posting this! :S

  • 9:45 headlight in the front and headlights in the back"' lol -- backlights

  • for double sune, an easier algorithm is F(RUR'U')x3F'

  • Quick question: Are these all the possible cases for after solving the cross? if not what should I do when I run into one unlike these?

  • @Redsox9724 You wont run in to one unlike these but there are other algorithms... don't know them ;P

  • @Redsox9724 After doing either F R U R' U' F' or f R U R' U' f' for orienting the cross on the top layer, you will run into one of these seven cases. Every single time.

  • do you like the a5 f2 or the dayan guhong? I have a rubiks cube and i want to get a better cube and learn fridrich.

  • can you give me the blue one?

  • which cube dya use?

  • Don't stop. Believing. Whoa Oh Oh OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • awesome man thanks alot! i learned a faster way to solve the cross with the L and this cleared up all my questions with the algorithms i already had for oll. thanks!

  • Im good a it now ty a lot.

    HEHEHEHEHE BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBIES

  • i am learnig full oll

  • Algorithms in this video are really easy to learn until Bruno

  • @aditya95sriramgmail bruno is really easy to learn the three tricky ones are triple sune super man and chameleon because they will end up with one of the other three if you do it when solved

  • @tomphas1 Perfectly right !

Even I noticed that when , on a solved cube you perform

    1) Triple sune algo you get Chameleon case

    2) Chameleon algo you get the triple sune case but the superman algo is really very strange because whtn you perform it on a solved cube you again get chameleon case .Can you please explain why is it so ? and also what algorithm we should perform on a solved cube to get the superman case?

  • @aditya95sriramgmail i have no idea why the cases do that and i have no idea how to get a cube in to superman. but what you can do is line several cubes up in a row then just do superman over and over again on the different cubes. then just do the chameleon on them to fix it.

  • TY so much i subscribed just because of this vid lol

  • Comment removed

  • YJ 3x3 FTW

  • i like this algo beter

    F RUR`U`RUR`U`RUR`U`F`

  • @blawlzorz105 FOR THE DOUBLE SUNE

  • I made an average making 1 superman and making a sune and an other anti-sune and the second one i made it faster, so i didnt need to learn the superman, is way too large, and because im left-handed too lol. But thanks for the rest of the algorithms.

  • For case #2 (the L shape) here is another algorithm: B U L U' L' B'. It's basically the same as the one he shows, except on a different side. But you may find that the one I just gave is a little bit more difficult to maneuver your fingers smoothly while doing it.

  • Excellent.

  • thanks for this, it's very clear!

  • I did 2 a day and was fine, as I just kept repeating them simultaneously.

  • Edges = 5:25 Bar 5:56 L 6:32 Middle Corners = 7:40 Sune 8:29 Anti-Sune 9:29 Double Sune 10:15 Bruno 11:01 Triple Sune 11:52 Superman 12:35 Chameleon

  • Comment removed

  • Anti-sune: Hole the oriented piece on the top right and do: R U2 R' U' R U' R'

  • hey for anti-sune u can hold the corner thats flipped correctly on the right side and do L' U' L U' L U2 L' it's just like sune but backwards

  • hey lance for double sune i would reccomend you do this algorithim f,r,u,r',u',r,u,r',u'r,u,r;,u',f' try it it is faster than the 1 in the video :)

  • Can someone please help me understand what the difference between a capitol letter and a lower case letter is? (in the bio, for algorithms.)

  • @Entityyyy lowercase means to turn the middle layer with it, say your doing a move and it your asked to do "r". Turn the right layer and the middle layer together. This way, it feels more comfortable than doing L' and you don't have to do x or y

  • @dan2x9 Thanks a ton dude, this just cut my time down drastically.

  • @Entityyyy Yeah no problem

  • Most algorithms can be memorized by the question "Are you?"

  • This was the best oll vid on youtube, good work. : )

  • I know you dont cube anymore but another algo for the anti-sune would be L' U R U' L U R'

  • Nice video, Lance.

But to all the people here, don't get discouraged by all the 57 OLL's. In the beginning, nobody really wants to learn them. But seriously, the aren't that hard, mainly just mirrors or slight modifications of eachother. When you get into it, time will fly when you learn algs. And your solving time will go down also. So if you think it's alot, its really not, and you'll get through them :)

  • what does the x mean?

  • @dylloop turn the cube, instead of turning a face, like the X axis, the Y axis, and the Z axis, they're all used in OLL & PLL :)

  • wooow! skills!

  • on the sune, I find the U2 move to be a easier than U'2, but thats probably because I'm left handed, and turn the cube more with that hand.

  • i can't get my tiny brain around this, the alg's seem long & it's a lot to remember........but i'm nothing if not persistant! P.s your vid's were recomended by "Mynameisdarthtater". Thanks

  • i didnt see it in the comments but if you hold the l shape with the fixed edges int he back and left u can just do the algorithm for bar solve in reverse to solve it

  • yo whats the cube you use when algorithem

  • which cube is the cube at 02:22 ??? please reply

  • Can i recommend a very good algorithm for double sune the headlights have to be in the front and back face the algorithm is F,(R,U,R',U")x3,F'

  • your tutorials are very helpful :)

  • Comment removed

  • if you know anything about this but if you do it would be cool if you could relply and answer to my channel comments.

Do you think I should get a 3x3x3 DIY Cube (F II) i have been doing some research on it and it seams like a nice cube It would be nice to hear your opinoin.

    Thanks

  • @MantarayProductions Type F is amazing.

  • Very well explained !

  • thank you very much

  • At the triple sune, why the "x" in the beginning of the algorithm? Can't you just do

    F R' F' L F R F' L? Thats the same, isn't it?

And at the superman, why "(...)" ?

  • thanks man!!!! this vid really helped me.

  • ncie tutorial!

  • @studman4250 fuck

  • @studman4250 fuck

  • cool but i always used R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R' when holding the headlights on the left and right, because it is so similar to sune I found it out intuitively, and i personally think that it is easier to use.

  • chameleons are way cooler than octopuses. they have a huge tongue with they shoot at a 1000 miles/h ar a tiny little bug, that shit's way more awesome than an octopus who can only pis ink when they're scared.

  • Actually, octopuses are incredibly smart. There is an aquarium in Australia (I think) where the lobsters were going missing. They couldn't figgure it out. After putting in cameras, they saw that an octopus was escaping from his tank, eating the lobsters, and hiding the shells under a stone before returning to his tank.

Not only that, but their color changes can make them, not nearly invisible, but pretty much impossible to see even if you're looking right at them.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight Through all of this, no one has cared to mention, the proper spelling is octu-pi =3, just enunciating, pretty much

  • @1134yannick paul the octopus. that sez it all.

  • Hey, Thank you soooooo much! You have no idea how much this helped me man, Thanks!

  • Can you put the time in the video for each algorithm in the description?

    For example: Chameleon - 12:35

  • I'm not an expert. Let me know if this question is crazy. When I solve my cube, about 1/20 times, I end up with a chameleon or headlights, but all my other pieces are oriented correctly and place correctly. No where I look can I find a headlights of chameleon algorithm that will keep everything else the same. Please help if you can.

  • i'm going for the full oll now

    i got 3 learned today

but i used the one with only on algoritm

    and it's indeed damn slow

  • for 6 you can just do F RUR´U´ RUR´U´ RUR´U´ F´

  • @mrcoments83

well, yeah you can just do a lot of things... but the algorithm I gave is the faster than yours.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight hey lance. may i suggest trying this algo for double sune. the headlights must face to the left & right and the algo is as follows:

R U R' U R U' R' U R U2(whicheverway u like to go) R'. it works really nicely with your hand and feels more comfy to me because i made it from the normal sune but doubled it.

  • @arcanemaxp Thanks, I like it.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight cool :)

would you you recommend i get the YJ cube that you reviewed? i'm getting a new one because my old one is REALLY prone to popping and its not that smooth anymore (my friend used vegetable oil to lube it....)

ALSO. how do i lube it properly (no sexual reference intended).

  • THE BEST OLL TUT :D

    Thx , it helped me:D

  • Comment removed

  • but if it does make a difference (if u have to turn it tiwce) how come the end in the same place? i do the algorithms nothing happens it still makes a cross or completes the face.

  • @tony123456789cube

It's because it's faster to go one way than the other.

  • This is so great, thx alot!!!

  • is there a diference witch way u turn it if u have to turn it twice?

  • If you are a slow cuber, no. If you are a fast cuber, yes.

  • i also learned all of them in 3 days

  • for the L shape all u have to do is hold the L facing toward u so it looks like a backwards L then u use the algarithm F U R U' R' F' its alot easier

  • This OLL tutorial's gotta be better than most of the others! The algorithms are

easy and you show the examples which makes this a breeze to learn.

  • cool, you can use this to solve the 2x2 except the superman case where you should do f r u r` u` f`

  • what is your average whit these algs?

i have about a minute so i was wondering how much i would get

  • Dear Lance, i know Anthony Sirle aka speedcuber023. I am Arnie Ramirez i am extremely interested in speed cubing, i am not that fast yet but im learning my current Average is: 01:15.56 my PB is 45.82. well i hope u get to reed this. u seem kool i have seen u in some of anthonys videos. well i am also a fan of u to. if u are willing to send a cube to a fan that would be kool. i was jking. i dont need a cube i have one :) well plz right back thanks for the new method i will be using!

  • Cool man, Well I'm sure that if you practice as much as Anthony did, you'll be a great cuber in no time. Only about a year ago, Anthony was the same speed as I was. Now he's one of the best cubers in the world.

If you're average is more than 1 minute, you should just do lots of solves until your average is about 40 seconds. Do this before you start learning lots of new methods, kay?

    Take it easy!

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight I will Thanks u are kool well i will still pracrice and who knows maby one day we will be on the same pracrice table at the word comp. well thanks agen and u rock.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight I will Thanks u are kool well i will still pracrice and who knows maby one day we will be on the same pracrice table at the word comp. well thanks agen and u rock.

  • Faved and subbed. Thanks for the algorithms. I will be learning this soon.

  • thanks for the tutorial

    it was really helpful :D

  • Is that porcelain white speed cube from cube4you? If so Is cube4you reliable?

  • Yepp impossible too hard i knew it from the start of this vid... i give up

  • come back to it after a couple weeks, start by learning the beginner method, then learn F2L and finish the last layer with the begginer method, then start to learn this.

  • Dude, you've got to be the best rubik's cube solver I've ever seen.

  • I have gotten this comment a lot, so I added an annotation showing it as an alternate algorithm.

Personally, I think that my way is better.

  • I got a problem with the cross and f2l in speed, and i pause too much between the oll and pll looks

  • I have the same problem with F2L. Just keep practicing, and eventually you'll get it down to about fifteen seconds.

  • Ill definitely be learning this this summer :) Im so busy right now its not even funny :( Great Video btw...i just wish i had time to sit down and learn it now :P

  • at 1:28 u said that most speedcubers are not able to perform the full OLL . so there are really speedcubers that learned all of them? by the way awsome tutorial. now i just need to learn PLL.

  • Yeah, lots of people know it.

    Even I know it. lol

  • Absolutely fantastic tutorial, blows almost all others on youtube out of the water.

Im worried i won't be able to quickly recognize which to use, will that come naturally?

  • Yes with time and practice it will come. Then you can learn 1-look oll :). (only 50+ algorithms xD). Awsome vid btw.

  • you are my hero lance :D<3

    when I know 2look OLL

then on the yellow side all yellow's are facing up, but are not inte the right place, is it PLL I use then?

  • Yes, sir! OLL twists them, then PLL places them.

  • heres a much easier triple sune alg. do a y2 from where you start and then do:

    F' r U R' U' r' F R

and yes, that is the chameleon alg just with the F' moved to the front

  • not a y2 a y

  • Great Video mate. I plan on making a whole youtube series on the different methods of solving cubes from the 2x2 to the 7x7 and I will refer back to this video (and your others) as videos to see. I am having a bit of problem with my speed with the cross at the beginning, any possible solutions? I have been cubing for 4 years now and I get an average of around 10 seconds (for the cross :P ), it could be way better. Anyways keep making videos, good work.

  • Why in the sune is it U2' and not just U2, finger trick preference?

  • Yes.

  • Thanks for the vids by the way, very well done and easy to follow. Have F2L down and I've got an avg time around 3:00 and this is the best video i've found for explaining the ool by far.

  • i use F U R U' R' F' to fix the L

  • Why (example F(R U R' U') F') is some of it in parentheses?

  • I think it's like a memorization tool, and that pattern is very commonly used in any algorithm. also, if you repeat (R U R' U') 6 times, the cube will be back in it's original state

  • you're good!

  • For the Triple Sune, you can also (Take this from your original position of when you start the algorithm) y2 (so that the bottom left yellow corner is facing to the left, and then do R U2 (R' U' R U)x2 R' U' R U' R'

I was just suggesting this because of the sake of how similar it is to Double Sune

  • watch the pll video, that teaches the other algs you need to know for that

  • thank you very much it helped me alot and i learned about mabey 3 a day so thank you

  • just messing around, i came up with this sune algorithm: (oriented corner in the lower left)

    R U' L' U R' U' L

  • Cool man, that's pretty good.

  • i just realized that the sune algorithm is the exact same as one i already knew that is supposed to switch 2 edges, and the antisune is the same thing just inverse.

  • Okay, so in the Sune and anti-sune when you do U2 does it matter if you do U2' or U2 because they both do a 180?

  • @Hidekils

I say U2' because it seems to be faster.

Sometimes your right hand is 'not available' to do a U2 clockwise very easily.. in which case, I would recommend using left hand to turn it anti-clockwise.

  • now I understand why the sune was so easy to learn for me (it was in dan browns tutorial)

  • thanks for u video

  • for triple:

    (R' F) (R B') (R' F') (R B)

  • tipp for everybody for the L shape in the edge orientation hold it the same way and do

    M´ U M U2 M` U M

is will go straight to the cross its faster to do

    :P

  • yes, but it's too much. We prefer to not move as much as that method.

  • supose ur right its just something that i found helpful im quite fast with M slices

  • acturly if u hold them in the top left corner they will get to the cross

  • or you can do, F U R U' R' F' :)

  • Best teacher ever. :]

  • Nice vid man you realy are a good teacher Thank you SO much man

  • With the adjacent edges, you can actually hold it in the back, and do F U R U' R' F'

  • I found this too.

  • ur a good teacher
