  • I would love to sing too this song.

  • Its like I just had multiple orgasms in my ears.

  • haha vevo sucks this page is cool

  • damn that andy mckees right hand i could just chop it off and surger it on my hand :D

  • The feeling in Andy's music is amazing. If anyone is interested in other fingerstyle guitar music, I have a few videos of my own and I would love if anyone would check them out!

  • Wow, it's so beautiful!

  • i think the people that dislike any video such as this are just trying to troll...

  • why is the fret board like that anyway??

  • @TheJayman213 its called fanned frets ,they make it easier to tune the low strings down because they are longer and you have more place to tune them down without flabby strings . Greatz

  • @fabfob90 The guitar itself it's called a Baritone Guitar, other artists such as Don Ross use this type of guitar for much warmer and deeper tones. It sounds fantastic

  • @jinofthegale i know that this is a barritone und the tuning i B but the asked something about the frets , nothing with the guitar itself !

  • andy mckee, you are one very blessed person, of all those great modern guitars around the world, I have to admit till now you are the best guitarist/musician in the world, God Bless You.

  • Ni lagu kenangan waktu PORPROV 2010 di hotel Fatuliu Kupang

  • 3 people are idiots and the rest though that it's replay button.

  • How can anyone dislike this? It's absolutely beautiful.

  • Awesome! i love this song

  • I think this song is almost better with the commentary on the other video cos his voice is just too cool as well!

  • Je vois le jeu, et j'apprécie tellement plus le rendu. Énorme :O

  • She sure cries beautifully...

  • @ShodakonFury The weird thing: after hearing that you wanna make her cry! Hmm....

  • Well...for $15,000 you can either buy a new car, or this type of guitar. Looks like Andy here made the right choice

  • @witherspoon1995 he was sponsored lol!! he didnt buy it....

  • @Hell31 just another reason to try and get as good as him haha. free greenfield guitars

  • this song definately need a top rated comment

    .........pure beauty.............

  • What kind of guitar is that? Somewhere around the 10th fret looks right...the others are all CRAZZZY! It's really cool. I want one.

  • @frontmanford They're called Fanned Frets.. They're supposed to help with chord shapes and longer stretches..

  • @ThatOneGuy1616 Um. No...LOL Fanned frets help keep the intonation correct with the low strings and the high strings. Also notice how the bridge is angled as well? that creates a longer scale length for the lower strings to keep the tension nice and tight since using thicker strings for lower tunings needs a good tension or else it gets to floppy.

  • @funnyguy1321 Actually, it does help with making chord structure and stretches. In addition to naturally helping the tension/intonation of the strings, the firm chords made help, too.

  • @funnyguy1321 They also say it's more ergonomic for the hand :P

  • @ThatOneGuy1616 they aid intonation not chord shape or long stretches! LOL dont assume..

  • I love the rush of his music. its from the heart...

  • song puts me in such a good mood.. every song from you sends shivers down my spine and puts a smile on my face no matter how mad/sad/depressed.. thank you so much andy!

  • it is amazing!

  • so, the special girl i secretly love is gonna graduate... :'( ill give her a special piece of music...I've made my decision! i am gonna present her this piece!!! i just hope she likes it. :D

  • I know you probly see coments like this all the time, but I really can't see the dislike bar lol

  • Great stuff. I wish more people would be able to just enjoy and appreciate without feeling the need to bitch or compare this to what they don't like.

  • yea pop culture is a failure. as is american culture as a whole. the roots of art are being washed over by all of the fake fake shit we see today in all forms of media. it makes me ill really. but theres still hope. its evident here...

  • I would love to play this on guitar hero =)

  • wow.... i mean, just ......wow

  • What an inspiration.

  • I've always enjoyed watching Andy's Videos, and all of candy rat for the matter. Seeing that there are other people out there that can have such a great understanding for music warms the heart! Keep it up candy rat.

  • A real musician. Endless talent. moving. Spectaular to the senses.... mezmerizing to the soul... magnificent.

  • See here's the thing I listen to Dubstep and I play the bass guitar so "folk" music is usually the last type of music id want to listen to..... right? Well this is just so amazing I could listen to it for hours. (and actually have been lol)

  • hahahaha, that fretboard trips me out. Feels like an optical illusion

  • @dvalukis Yeah what the fuck?!

  • @dvalukis i know what you mean :P

  • @dvalukis Well, the guitar builder just lost his glasses

  • I THINK NOW IN DAYS MOST PEOPLE DON'T LISTEN TO MUSIC THEY LISTEN TO A HOBIE CALLED SOUND MADE BY COPUTERS THAT ALWAYS SOUND THE SAME!!!!!!!

  • @acustic95

Why on earth is this post so excited?

  • Simply beautiful. How can so much come from one man, his music is so richly orchestrated. Can anyone with a soul dislike this music?

  • what a brilliant guitar...love it

  • why are the frets in that shape?

  • @TtEkSoF the frets are "fanned" because it makes it more ergonomic for your fingers. Especially for the wide stretch chording andy does!

  • @RedSheap incorrect my friend. the fanned shape was created in order to achieve greater intonation accuracy.

just like the saddle is angled on a typical guitar to improve intonation. this is just a step further in that evolution.

normal guitars are a comprimise in this respect, as is andys, his is just a bit closer. lots of crazy ideas floating around on the subject. problem is- if you play with andy you'll sound out of tune after just tuning:@)

  • @stevelanemusic makes sense because of the different contact points in accordance to the distance between the saddle and where u are fretting. right? me dumb dumb

  • @TtEkSoF It's a GreenField fanned fret Guitar. It gives the guitar perfect, if not much much better intonation than a regular guitar could.

  • 2 bad kids these days dont know what music means... not that I disagree with what they call music... but I just cant see a future without musicians like Andy....

  • @JudasGlavie Im 16, so still a kid kinda and totally agree with you. People don't even know what music is now.

  • @Opawhale same I'm 15 and music isn't as cool anymore

  • This bring me to another world.

  • please don't ever stop playing :)

  • Your sound is a "soulcatcher"! A sound with heavenly feeling...wonderful and precious! Thank you so much!

This guitar has a WHOW sound!

  • When she cries.... she realizes she's deaf and can't listen to Andy McKee :(

  • he lost hella weight.. ;)

  • @vxzen Hella is gay

  • Andy McKee+ Guitar= Damn....

  • What guitar is that?

  • @paranoid270 It's probably one of his Greenfield fanned-fret guitars. He has two, I believe; this one and a green one. Both have fanned frets.

  • Why don't you guys just watch and listen rather than arguing?

  • i wonder how he tunes his guitar..

  • @arisgobaldo I saw a video where he said it's mostly DADGAD

  • @LeonKayy This song is actually in C maj 9th... tuned... CGDgBC

  • @arisgobaldo he said he plays DADGAD or EADGAD

  • Pop music is for those who are easily 'entertained'!

  • the frets are trippin me out!!! they're either slanted or the shrooms are kickin in

  • seen that beautiful guitar in person :)

  • y cant people listen to this??? my attitude changed right when i started hearing this music. right after a long annoyin day at school im more relaxed after hearing andy's songs. if i could listen to this on the radio it would b AWESOME!!!!!!! radio stations should put this on the radio and take off that i lift my hands in the air sometimes sayin something that i dont remember.

  • i love that guitar man.

  • 5 people who disliked this must like restless heart's "when she cries" more than this :P

  • I love music that tells a story...

  • PLEASE GROW YOUR BEARD AGAIN! >.<

  • @LeonKayy wtf? it's his face? he can do what he wants.

  • @xDjRC i know. I'm only sayin'. Don't play the moral apostel you YT-addict-douche.

  • @LeonKayy fail comeback much?

  • That guitar is alien. Completely awesome.

  • @heashon2000 I know right? It's a GreenField Fanned Fret guitar, I want one but they are hand made, cost a fortune, and the wait time is at least 1 -2 years!

  • all right Mr. Genius, where'd you get the awesome custom job done on your axe!

  • @Hye5oul ps. 5 people who rated this video suffer from erectile disfunction

  • Is it an optical effect, or are his guitar frets at a weird angle?

  • @RUAV2TWIN nah, theyre called fan frets, its designed to keep the correct pitch as you go down the fretboard. since his guitar its a baritone.

  • @acousticCfboy

Thanks for that.. First I`ve heard of them.. Appreciate that..

  • Something very centering about indulging in Andy's music meanderings.

I can say virtually instantly - an order and inspiration was restored in my life upon hearing this creative effort.

I'm happy someone has ventured down this path.

REAL nice intonnation solution there. Greenfield eh ? I'll have to explore that.

  • I like this....x

  • Solid Point @BurninAss. Being a musician myself I can safely say that the majority of todays pop music doesn't really interest me that much. I think it's to simple and easy if you ask me, but catchy, and that's pretty much the point.

When you've been working with music a while it's always nice to see true craftmanship and passion, and that's what I see in the musicians of Candyrat.

Pop is to commercial, and is more like a product you can buy at the super market, which is sad if you ask me...

  • amazing... I was in such a pissy mood before listening to this and I'm smiling once again!

  • sensacional

    todas são um acalanto

  • I can play this song from 0:00 to 0:44 :)

    I'm still learning :)

  • @SamIbanez351 Are you going to be making a cover vid of 'when she cries' on utube once you are done?

  • @toyyib1234 I'll try. Now I can play it from 0:00 to 2:05. The fast part is very hard you know...

And I'll try to find a good camera!

  • it sounds like flowing orgasmic nirvana

*no not the band u jackwagons, try picking up a Dictionary.*

  • i am in love with it!

  • He looks good here, lost some weight . But his music still gets better and better! I love this guy!

  • @crazyorjustblond cocaine

  • damn

  • Lovely...

  • this is next on my list got drifting and all layed back and stuff tight now.

  • stop with the how ever many dislike comments, there fucking annoying..

    great tune tho.

  • O.o whats with the frets on this guitar! that is one sexy looking guitar. I dont think i need to say anything about the sound.... 858 likes and 3 dislikes says all you need to know.

  • wow, whoever she is, she cries beautifully! :-)

  • Hey andy names kyle i love ur style and the way u play keep it up maybe we could get to gether and i could put some lyrics to some of the stuff u play if so hit me up breedapartband@yahoo.com

  • all of Andy's beautiful music is my favorite

  • i've written a text to this song

    i love it

  • I listen to Andy all the time and play a little of what he does but I keep reading what Joshonthenet wrote and its so true. You are amazing and cant pass a day without hearing something of you.

  • this song evokes emotion, not normal emotions, they seem otherworldly

  • I think I want to use this song in a tribute to my dog. She's being put to sleep tomorrow.

    Beautiful song.

  • @jhealz18 Hope she has lived well.

  • what a cool guitar!

  • Absolutely beautiful :)

  • @irish66212 the music industry has always been like that. Profit was everything since the dawn of time. The firm found out that what most people want is not that type of music our friend andy mckee plays, but that gaga stuff. And they´re unfortunately right. But as long there are "real" musicians going against the industry´s tide, we shouldn´t complain about how "our" music stopped to be popular. Remember: even Hendrix WAS MADE popular by the firm, because his music was what people WANTED (past)

  • @49Ferdinand irish66212 makes a good point though. people had skill and heart back whenever. you think Katy Perry cares about "teenage dreams"? she doesnt give a shit. hendrix at least put his soul into it, right?

  • @unceasingforce of course, this point is right. The quality of popular music is constantly descending. The new popular music is less complicated and maybe even easier to listen to. The people who listen to it don´t want to think about the music or the artist´s intention, but they want to party to it. You can´t party when listening to andy mckee ;)

Last but not least, sounds are very subjective. Maybe someone likes the sound of Perry´s "easy" pop music simply more than everything else.

  • @BurninAss word up to that

  • @BurninAss Or sometimes they should be exposed to more genres of music? I often find people who listen to only one particular radio station and therefore limiting themselves to such music. Which is why I always share my playlist with my friends, to see if they like any of the bands with a similiar sound. Not to sound like I'm advertising, but I would like to encourage our fellow YouTubers to try this instead of bashing on videos &such. We need to spread music like Andy Mckee's to the world. :)

  • @BurninAss I'm parting to it. I'm RAVING to it. ;)

  • @BurninAss You guys are missing the point. The reason why musicians think that popular music is worse, is because once you dive into the world of how music is made, you start looking for new ideas and new things that interest you and can make you better. It doesn't mean that popular music is worse. It just means that after a while, you must move on.

  • @BurninAss As a music major in college, music is literally my life. Sounds are objective and subjective, and if you listen to where classical music is going you'll see what I mean. It's better to say that something like this McKee tune and "party" music are just different, because complexity DOES NOT equal quality, and there is no universal scale for musical quality.

  • @richiec54 a very good and precise explanation. I´d say the discussion has reached its end.

@KiffeKun so true... I´m some kind of musician, too but it actually kind of bothers me when I catch myself (/ or someone else) qualifying other musicians on their musical complexity. Maybe musicians´minds are conditioned to considering complex music as more attractive because creative minds always tend to seek new inspiration which can´t be found in most of commercial music.

  • @BurninAss i can party all night listening to andy mckee! it might not be a very good party but the music would be great!

  • @BurninAss For the most part, I wholeheartedly agree. Then someone like Adele comes along and blows everyone else out of the water. You may not like her music directly, but she has raw talent - something the pop world hasn't really seen in a very long time. So there is still some hope for mainstream music, at least for me.

  • @paleran Very true their are diamonds in the rough in every genera. Adele being a very good example of being a diamond. And I'm pretty sure that if more people would start listening to artists with talent that the industry would have no choice but to change. But until that happens we will need to shift through a lot of crap before we find true talent.

  • @unceasingforce I think Katy Perry was alright back then. She has recently be made into an industry product to be sold to the population. To be honest, I thought she was talented, played the guitar nicely with her singing. She wasn't Hendrix or anything, but she had some heart in it. I don't blame the artists, but the industry, corporates, and the cruel reality music business that made them into a product.

  • @CanimCursor ah i c ur point, industry does change a person im sure

  • the crazy twisty fret system is called ''fan-fret'' its to help alternate tunings, keeping the bass string nice and tight. gorgeous guitar eh.

  • it's like people don't even care whats being said or how much skill music takes anymore with all the auto-tuning. this is what music is all about. true self-expression

  • Definitely one of his best. Heartfelt from start to finish.

  • what is the guitar he's using? it looks like twisted. so cool :)

  • @fourcous hey, he's playing a "greenfield g4" in this video i think^^

  • what kind of guitar is andy using in this video ?

  • @TheVrowsell i dunno, but it freaks me right the fuck out

  • @TheVrowsell Not sure but I think it's a fanned-fret guitar. Made to make the higher notes sound better perhaps.

  • 3 people are deaf

  • tremolo......wow...i didnt expect it to juz come up...beautiful...

  • Autotune gave confidence to the tone deaf, and made us the unwitting audience for their pathetic noise. I sound better in the shower with a cold. Men like Andy, who play acoustic without trying to be a singer, too, is genius. Know your talents and focus on that only. Don't try to be something you're not. If you can't carry a tune to save your life, find something YOU are good at and leave music alone. Your friends and family don't have the guts to tell you. Oh yeah, spare us from American Idol.

  • 3 people missclicked and have chopped off their ears to prevent them from hearing anything after they've heard this song so they wont ever forget their mistake nor the song.

  • ENDING WAS EPIC!!!!!!!

  • I would do sick things to be able to have his guitar

  • nice

  • I cried listening to you play.. Thank you. You're talents has so much emotion, and this song is so romantic and charming. <3

  • haha im tripping over his guitar, let alone how he plays it!

  • Wow.. I like this! Thanks Andy! God bless you more and more!

  • incredibly inspiring. this is so heartfelt!

  • hell yea, i completly agree with josh

  • wow those frets are crazy, look at those angles there placed in.

  • @BurnedFaceShreder its called a fanned fret guitar and it helps to hit notes on the high E string

  • @aletterfromjanelle1 I'm pretty sure they are designed for better intonation...

  • I love this!!

  • to jump on the bandwagon, someone just replied to another comment of mine essentially denying that Andy Mckee is not on the same level as Jimmy Page. While I greatly respect Jimmy Page's tunes, considering Mckee's entire body of work, I simply think Andy Mckee is more talented.

  • @YanosAldrin - I've seen both Jimmy and Andy play live...both awesome and for similar reasons. Oh, to hear both gentlemen play "Over the hills and far away"...or, for that matter, one of Andy's originals.

  • when i listen to andy's music his message is so clear< its almost as if i were reading it from a book! that takes true talent

  • I agree with Joshonthenet, I guess I'm just tired of people getting record deals and doing so well financially just because they look good or have money to begin with, but in actuality they suck. I'm not talking about all pop music, a lot of those people have amazing voices, I'm just tired of hearing crap,I wish that people like you Andy and Antoine Dufour could replace what I listen to on the Radio.

  • What an amazing guitar. Fanned frets make it look really beautiful.

  • So Awesome

  • That's a unique guitar McKee has!

A perfect Match for a Unique Guitar Player :)

  • I like how he drops his head at the end....

i bet he sits there with his head down for 30 minutes recovering from the massive load he shot in his pants after finishing such a masterpiece.

  • Listen to MEDITATING MELODY if u liked this! its the first one when u search it both amazing songs!!! :)

  • i was looking at the grenfield guitar site! man! i was shocked! they are nice guitars though. £15000+ for a hand built guitar for your own specifications, plus a £500 consultation fee! man alive! i want one........one day.

oh btw this song is pretty

    like the guitar.
