  • 747 has nothing to prove right now, She earn the title Queen of the Skies... Only airbus called their flying forehead King of the Skies and I highly doubt it, those wings really looks unstable...

  • Thts some real kick ass shit!!!!!!

  • Remember the biggest is not always the best...

  • @yazpaul Your right, who wants to be waiting for your luggage along with 600 plus other people. The 777-300ER is my favorite plane. That A

  • @yazpaul You're so right, who wants to be waiting for your luggage with 700 other people. That A380 that nearly crashed in Singapore, and it did nearly crash is still on the ground there being repaired. The 777-300ER is a nice sized and comfortable plane.

  • @rsattahip Same here, 777 is one of my faves :) Since I was small 747 is my fave plane, I learn to speak 747 first than saying mama loool hehehe

  • it looks small :/

  • @Guilland23 Explain how the A380 is a flop with it having mire than 200 orders more than the 748... Please don't bother replying your ambarresing your self

  • @Aviationnation10 There has been no new order since. Do you think that the project is profitable with only 260 orders? Please! The A380 should thank Emirates. Your english is very bad by the way.

  • @Guilland23 Eh yes there has Sky mark airlines,Qatar are ordering more so are Emirates and Possibly BA, Nothing wrong with my english I'm typing on an iPhone and the keys are small...

  • I personally prefer the -400 the -800 is embarrassing to the 747 family

  • If Airbus was better than Boeing, then they would not stop producing the A340 (all variants), and say that they cannot cope with it's rival, the B777. The A380 was first a Boeing project. The 787 is the tangible rival of the still-inexistant A350. By the way, where is the A350? Coming in a few years... What's the use of flaunting Airbus under a Boeing video?

The 747 is the sexiest plane ever. I am a fan of both Airbus and Boeing, but I must admit that Boeing builds flying wonders.

  • @Guilland23 the economics of the 777 cant compare to the A340's, A380 a boeing project what are you on about?? and btw the 787 was over 3 years late...

  • @Aviationnation10 Boeing wanted to enlarge it's current 747 during the early 90s. It would have been a real double decker. But they dropped the project. You are 16 years old. New to aviation. Go and read real facts. Airbus confirmed that the 777 was too strong for the A340. Go and read. I'm a big fan of Boeing and Airbus. But I'm an Airbus employee in Hamburg. The 787 is 3 years old??? Airbus would have dropped the A350 because the A380 was a flop. Go and inform yourself.

  • @Guilland23 Firstly I'm not 16 I put in the wrong year and you cant change it...Everyone knows the 777 is much more fuel efficent with 2 engines stop stating the obvious...you clearly Do not work for Airbus... A380 a flop no sorry thats the 748...

  • @Aviationnation10 The A380 was a flop... There have been problems (technical compatibility issues) between St. Lazaire and Hamburg. I am not an Airbus employee... prove it! The whole project was a catastrophy, with delays. The A350 would have been sacked. You don't know anything... I will not reply again.

  • Lately i heard a 748 from BA in frankfurt. It was quite loud. A388 is quiet:)

  • Comment removed

  • That fat whale from Airbus seems to drag it self into the Air as for this one it seems to glide And I also realize that it is very quiet!

  • @Jl777100 A380 is very quiet, not this one.

  • Wow! It doesn't seem to even have to try to pull up to get in the skies...it gracefully leaps! This plane can never die.

  • Still the most beautiful bird in the skies.

  • my uncle designed the body of this aircraft!!! and he said that the first 747-8I would be out in february ,2012!!!! real news

  • Nice looking bird! Lets see how many orders Boeing receives. :-/

  • Airbus warns of plunge in demand. Airbus (EADSY.PK) has forecast that demand for new aircraft could dive by over 50% in 2012 after the company hit a record 1,419 orders last year. A slowdown in A320neo purchases along with the financial pressures of both airlines and suppliers is expected to contribute to the tailoff.

    Go EADS!!

  • Damn its very quiet.....

  • It was Lufthansa had been asking Boeing to stretch the 747 dated back in early 2000's

  • it far more quiter.

  • I'm not going to lie, the 747 is my favorite, but I like the look of the -400 much better.

  • @c150ace

Im with you there.. but still, I'm so glad that the 747 will live on! Surely the -400 will be entirely retired soon! :(

  • she looks sweet

  • It's simply surprising that Boeing didn't go harder producing a competitor to the A380. The 747-8 is somewhat of a let down. Boeing could've at least made the 747-8 slightly wider along with all the other enhancements. Most carriers will probably just stick with the 400 series for several more years.

  • @cabrame I agree but the 747 is at its design limitations as it is. Some engineers have expressed concerns that the airframe is now overstretched and given the revised geometry and uprated power plants, could suffer critical failure in years to come. I think the aircraft has lost some of its character, its distinctive hump now looks sh**. The 748F is the better looking of the two,

  • why everybody is fighting about boeing vs airbus, the 747-8 is the queen of the skys and the a380 is the king. what´s the problem

  • Great!

  • pause at 0:03 for looooooong upper deck

  • The new Boeing 747-8i is impressive as it can turn on a dime and is very fast on take-off. Hopefully, United Airlines will have a change of heart and order this plane as a true replacement aircraft for its older Boeing 747-400s.

  • @ekweseman To be honest, as big a "Boeing Guy" As Jeff Smiesek is (UAL's new CEO) I would expect Uniteds Airbus fleet to shrink and new Boeing jets to take their place Including the 747-8i

  • @MyleneJ CEO´s job is to choose models that fit best to airlines needs, not by manufacturer, nationality or any other bullshit.

  • @Pvjinflight Alright, I'm not sure what your airline experience or affiliation is, but quite frankly you don't seem to know much about aircraft purchase. Manufacturer plays a big part in choosing what aircraft will fill a fleet due mostly in part to quality and versatility of product that's why former CO's fleet is 100% Boeing and why The A-319/320's that ARE in United's current fleet were basically given to United on a HUGE discount and nothing has been bought from Airbus since.

  • @MyleneJ If Airbus planes are worse quality then why for example my home countrys biggest airline Finnair is making their fleet Airbus only?

Please stop talking bullshit and accept that Airbus planes are just as good quality as Boeing ones. Why the hell you even think that Airbus would give United big Airbus fleet with price that does not make sense to Airbus? You are telling pure lies.

Lots of big airlines have Airbus only fleet.

  • @Pvjinflight Shut up airbus suck...... Look at Lufthansa majority of their planes are Boeing, Emirates, Cathy, ANA, Air france, what are you talking about?!

  • @yazpaul Its a statistical fact that Airbus sold almost two times more planes this year, you cant deny that. It has nothing to do how many Boeing planes some airlines have right now, Airbus has still sold more in 2011 and also in 2010. Air France has 165 Airbus planes and 71 Boeing planes, wheres the majority? Lufthansa has 195 Airbus planes and 84 Boeing planes. Also Cathay has still almost half Airbus fleet. With ANA you are right.

  • @Pvjinflight Almost all of Europe ban together to put Boeing out of business.France was the leading instigator in this since France hate any thing American and are extremely jealous of America. Because of where it was made, the France had to buy a ton and since so many parts are being made in various countries around Europe, they also had to buy into it. Over 87% of pilots when ask, prefer to fly the Boeing's and that is a fact. Bottom line, who cares?

  • @CaptainArt777 Send me reliable information source that says that 87% of pilots when asked prefer Boeing.

I do not believe that at all. Especially 737 cockpit is pretty bad I heard, not enough room for anything.

  • @CaptainArt777 you have no clue what your on about...the statue of liberty is french, the biggest bridge in the world is french, the most visited city is paris, the biggest comercial jet is french, the only supersonic passenger jet is french...Hate?? eh no Air France have the 777 and 747 so no they don't hate USA btw most of the 787 is made in Japan...

  • @Aviationnation10 No, the Tupolev Tu-144 was Russian, it first flew BEFORE Concorde!

Concorde was a better plane, with a longer life, but get your facts straight.

  • @rockymountainrandom Tu-144 never went commercial...it was a crap the russians just wanted supersonic and didn't care about quality

  • @Aviationnation10 It's true that the Tu-144 was not as great a plane as the Concorde, but it did briefly enter passenger service with Aeroflot, just so you know. But you don't have to be rude about the Russians...they have built some pretty good planes recently, only they haven't gotten as much international attention as the Boeing and Airbus models. However, both Russia and China are planning on getting a better share in the international aviation market with new programs, such as China's C1919

  • @rockymountainrandom It didn't even pass test flight it has over 100 faults in one flight,Nothing against the Russians they have huge potential they have the most billionares for a city in Moscow having said that any time I have met them they are extremly rude anyway their not all like that,I don't have much faith in them they are very noisy but modest in price.

  • @Aviationnation10 Sorry kid, and you do sound like one. I can write a book about all the french has done against the Americans. You simple don't know and for you to say all those dumb things that has no bearing on what we are talking about tells me a lot about you. I am done with this, at least with you until you grow up and learn all your facts.

  • @CaptainArt777 god Jealousy is a sad thing its constant why are Americans so Anti French?? how about the things americans have done in the short life of the country Iraq,Afghanistan,Hiroshima etc...

  • @Aviationnation10 Americans anti french? Wow, have you been living in a cave? Most of South America don't like the French. Did you not hear what the Argentina team said about the French. I was all over Europe this past summer, and in talking with the locals, they don't like the French either.

  • @CaptainArt777 Americans are pretty much anti anything not american...if its so hated explain how its the most visited country in the world

  • @Pvjinflight WHY ARE YOU ON SOO MANY BOEING VIDEOS COMPLAINING ABOUT WHY AIRBUS IS BETTER, THE EUROPEAN ECONOMY IS GOING DOWN THE SHIT HOLE, AND NOT TO MENTION AIRBUS IS STRUGGLING WITH THE A380 PROJECT WITH SOOO MANY DELAYS THAT SURPASS THE 787 DELAYS. THE FACT IS AIRBUS BIT OFF MORE THAN IT COULD CHEW, AND NOW THE E.U. IS TRYING TO SAVE PORTUGAL, SPAIN AND ITALY, NOT TO MENTION GREECE IS LEFT BEHIND, THEY BARELY HAVE ENOUGH TO HELP AIRBUS, OH AND THE A350=WAY MORE DELAYS, HAHAHA.. GO 787.

  • @k4n3n1 I am telling the truth and I enjoy arguing with retarded Boeing fanboys like you.

B787 already had years of delays.

Also EU sucks I agree with that part. However Airbus has nothing to do with EU or those countries you mentioned.

  • @k4n3n1 wow you need to get a life arguing with people over the INTERNET over a plane

  • @yazpaul So check your information before commenting.

  • @yazpaul dont pay any attention to Pvjinflight, this airbus slut as been on every boeing video trying to convince people airbus is better, and i mean every boeing page,Pvjinflight if you love airbus so much why are you on sooo many boeing video, you just cant get enough looking at what a real airplane should look like ah.

BOEING=history, culture, pioneer, tradition, future, elegance, beauty, and helped win ww1 and wwII, and is still defending the west NATO nations.

    AIRBUS=SHIT.

  • @k4n3n1 Also its just plain retarded to say that one manufacturer is shit just because it competes with manufacturer you love. It just shows how immature you are, although I am defending Airbus I am not saying that Boeing is shit. Actually I think that both are very good manufacturers and need each other. Its free market you know and competition is good.

So grow up and accept that Airbus is equal to Boeing. Airlines have showed that already by buying their planes as much or even more.

  • @MyleneJ Also if Airbus products are worse than Boeing then why did Airbus just sell almost 2 times more planes last year than Boeing did?

  • @Pvjinflight Well, it's pretty clear to me you're at best a raving Airbus fanboy with an affinity for the word "bullshit". Fact of the matter is still that, Airlines still and always have bought their fleets based on the factors of Product Quality, Price, and Brand Loyalty. Furthermore, I have not spoken a single lie, look it up yourself UAL got its Airbus fleet at an extremely discounted cost in an attempt for Airbus to gain a foothold in the US.

  • @Pvjinflight And again, as i said, if you don't believe me, I invite you to do the research yourself, instead of being insulting and accusing me of being a Liar. There are also plans in the works for United to Cancel its A350 order. So, I will return to my original statement, I have not once personally claimed Boeing quality over Airbus, My original statement was, simply that UA's CEO is loyal to Boeing and prefers their product to Airbus. I'm sorry that pisses you off so much.

  • wow she indeed is a beauty and eye catcher!

  • This is the most beautiful commercial airline in the world, even better than the 400! It make the French 'flying forehead' look so bad:)

  • @j1a9m7e2s lol funny :)

  • @j1a9m7e2s not really the lack of orders show...

  • Well, I was wrong then. If you extend the top of this 747 to create a full second level, you will probably be at around 900 to 950 passengers with economy seating...

  • Awwww Yeeeaaaaa, this thing can get to around 770 passengers. Maybe more. Just wait Airbus... Boeing has another 200 ft of fuselage to work with !

  • @umaxen01 The maximum capacity of the 747-8I with a 1-class layout is nearly 640 passengers not 770

  • Technically advanced, enormous, majestic, stunning. You expect no less at $300+ million per copy

  • I would love to be able to fly on an a380 but I've been hearing that there are many problems with the planes around the world......

  • No other aircraft has such a beautiful takeoff! 747 rox!

The A380 is very nice too!

  • 747-8 "quitely" brilliant!!

  • looks like Lufthansa prefer the Boeing 747-8I than the Airbus A380

  • @Endevour1995

Why? They also operate the A380 with a total of 17 on order. However, Lufthansa has a long tradition with the 747, being launch customer and evoled in the design of the 747-400 and 747-8. They also have a big infrastructure including pilot training and maintenance facilities for the 747.

  • Beautiful plane, but I don't get why Lufthansa bought it. It has no chance against the A380 on economics. It may make sense as a freighter until the A380F is out. But still beautiful :)

  • @AgimA74 FYI, the A380F program was cancelled long ago when all orders were cancelled by airlines, so talk about economics having some facts...

  • @pacavis The 380F was postponed, whatever that may mean. The orders were cancelled because Airbus won't have been able to deliver for years. And you seriously won't dispute that from the economic (for a carrier) point of view a 380-800 surpasses any 747. I can understand that Lufthansa bought some 20 as a good gesture and because the 747I can be easily and cheaply converted to the cargo version.

  • Even though the 747 isn't going against the A380 747 kicks ass

  • isnt Lufthansa

  • @Thesnowdead1

Of course it's one of the 20 748i to be delivered to Lufthansa.

  • @Thesnowdead1 There's a video response of the plane getting painted in Lufthansa livery, looks even better afterward!

  • so quiet... =D

  • just putting it out there, boeing has been making aircraft for about 100 years or so -correct me if i wrong- airbus has been around how long? 20 or 30 years? the A380 is just another piece of crap thats trying to take over the skies, leaving the little guys out.if you think im wrong, tell it to the crj taht the air france a380 hit.. again, just putting it out there

  • @legomaster335

Try 40 years and before that, the companies which finally became Airbus already built airplanes as long as Boeing does. Not too long ago a 777 did the same thing to a CRJ, so is the 777 a piece of crap, too?

  • @blablubb12345 It was a 767.

  • @legomaster335 I do prefer the 747 as well...and anyone who's seen that video of the AF A380 clipping the little CRJ can tell how helpless and distraught the little Canadair looked :(

  • Amazing looking plane. Let's hope that it fulfills is promise of quietness and environmental friendliness.

  • When I was a little girl I didn't think anything could be more beautiful than a 747 taking off. Looks like I'm going to grow old still knowing just that. Congratulations Lufthansa and Boeing. What an awesome plane!

  • @kreativdronare ur Airbus have to take like 500 years to get to Boeings Standard. Get the fck over it buddy

  • @ApplePreview98 Boeing just happens to be american junk!!! Nothing else!!!

  • @ApplePreview98 Boeing just happens to be american junk!!! Nothing else!!! Get thje fuck over it!! Airbus is the KING of the skies!!!

  • @kreativdronare Is that why Airbus has no sensible legacy aircraft.......all their aircraft programs are cancelled after a few years......the only reason the A320 still sells is coz boeing cant produce the 737s in great numbers, backlog is over 2500 and more orders still coming in, so airlines choose airbus as an alternative...otherwise the A340 is crap and out of production, A380 is just mediocre, only A330 has some sense in it...

  • @kreativdronare the Qatar CEO said it right " AIRBUS IS STILL LEARNING HOW TO BUILDS PLANES"...........

  • @pacavis I am surprised after all, wasn´t the Germans who build the best planes?

Arado-234, Me-262, HO-229 seems to me that the CEO of Qatar have no clue. Oh sure the Mustang P51 It was conceived, designed and built by North American Aviation (NAA), under the direction of lead engineer Edgar Schmued a German .

  • @pacavis And people of Uganda are still learning how to write.

  • Airbus 380 is the king of the skies!!! Get over it all you american assholes!!

  • @kreativdronare yeah but 747 is the QUEEN of the skies.

  • Lufthansa is the best!! American airlines are shit!!!

  • Apparently ,some people are missing the point regarding my comment on the A380!

It's simply that it's an aircraft that would be better suited for a Spruce Goose mission than carrying passengers! You ( Airbus) were able to finally build an airplane larger than the 747, but at what cost? It will most likely never get in the black! Maybe it has enough load capacity to carry enough money from Beijing, and fly it to europe to save their crumbling economy? I doubt it!

  • 0:43 truely majestic !!

  • Awesome!

  • 747 is a legendary design, and the 747-8I is no exception! I'd prefer to fly these Lufthansa 747-8I for my future hub-to-hub travel, than in an A380.

  • B1 flug, oder?

  • Until 787 full in operation Best boeing is 777, this 747 is a failed atempt to fight A380 that is more better airplane

  • @juank1958 Dude, The 747-8 is the aicraft to fill the gap between the 777-300ER and the A380 in seats.

The A380 will have 555 seats in 3 class config, the 747-8 will have 450 seats, and the 777 up to 380 seats. now its up to the airline which aircraft will fill their needs

  • I don't even dare try to compare a380 with 747. 747 (my favorite Boeing) was Boeing's bestselling widebody before 777 superseded it.

  • brilliant airplane

  • Lufthansa is a good airline.

  • @perezster I totally agree!

  • The A380 is superior in NOT being as versatile, operationally!

Think of it as how the Panama canal has been the standard for the maritime industry. Why would you build a ship that wouldn't pass through the canal? I've been stuck in traffic jams at JFK in a 747-400 a few times due to the fact that the A380 can not use most taxiways there.

Not to mention the fact that the A380 has a limited contingency airport pool.

Have fun flying it, just pray you don't have to divert!

  • @vikingsurferguy If there are taxiway & apron issues at JFK, they shouldn't have been cleared by the FAA as "A380 ready". The trouble is, the authorities at NY have a habit of short cutting regulations and using taxiways of inadequate width. They did this when the 1st 747s landed. The incident involving the AF 380 wingtip clipping the tail of another is an example. You cannot blame the A380 operators if the Port Authority gives it clearance to land. Airlines need the 380 to grow the business.

  • @vikingsurferguy

if this is the truth, it´s a problem of jfk airport

if they are not really ready to handle an a380, they shouldn´t accept it

in FRA there aren´t any problems like this

  • it sounds quieter from outside during takeoff.

  • thats not a 747-8 bc its a 747-400 and only one 747-8 has been sold

  • Omg.. stop arguing about Boeing 747-8 vs Airbus a380 both are great and both are new, I'd fly either one.

  • @PilotGleb Yea seriously lol, fanboys argue like they'd refuse to get on the plane if it was a A380 or 747-8 that's going to take them to their destination lol

Ya'll ain't never gonna be rich enough to afford one, some can't even afford ticket to sit in one. Just watch the clip and enjoy!

  • @PilotGleb I prefer your mom :D

  • @aexmendz Joking btw ;) Both manufacturers are great I agree :)

  • Amazing engine power!

    But the A380-800 is stronger.

  • @HamburgAirport stronger my arse... the 7478 is not only the fastest passenger airplane in the world. it also holds the record for the heaviest load flown on a plane over a million pounds. plus dont forget the problem the a380 went through a few months ago, not just engine, but also wiring and equipment problems...not so great for a new plane. dont give me wrong the a380 is a great accomplishment, but it will never accomplish what the 747 as accomplished.

  • @k4n3n1

Are you serious? The A380 has a MTOW of over 1.2 million pounds, so it's safe to say that it does > 1 million lb flights on a daily base and did so long before the 747-8 even left the ground. However, the record for the heaviest load ever flown is held by the Antonov An-225.

  • Majestic! Absolutely magnificent! The A380 has nothing on the Queen of the skies!

  • Like a boss!

  • coolest plane i have been on. and it was still filled with test equipment

  • LUFTHANSA IT STANDS 4 THE FOLLOWING.

LET US FUCK THE HOSTES AND NEVER SAY ANY THING!

  • @solomonpilot767

that makes lufthansat for your info not lufthansa

  • Am I the only one who loves the teeth ridges around the end rim of the engines??

  • @Vekoma1261 They're called chevrons.

  • @Vekoma1261 I love them too!!!

  • @Vekoma1261 Those ridges actually lower the engine noise!

  • @Vekoma1261 Yeah they are pretty cool!! Did you know that design is not to make it look cool, but it is actually for decreasing decibels of engine noise.

  • when is the delivery?

  • what a lovely king of the sky. the jumbo 747 always is my favourite plane. nothing else, not the A380 can replace it.

  • A380 is a better

  • @SALEM712

    lies

  • @SALEM712 different plane .....i prefer GALAXY C-5.

  • @SALEM712 Bullshit !

  • @SALEM712 You're right, but there are some here who find that too hard to take. Nmbers of sales are the litmus test and whether we like it or not, the A380 is the VLA of choice for the world's major airlines right now. People ought to give credit for technological achievement. The 747-8 is and always will be iconic, but it's also yesterday's aircraft. The A380 is simply superior in almost all ways.

  • its so quieter than a380 wow super impressive

  • @kenpatrick98 Actually they're very similar in terms of noise levels

  • @aspiringdrummer17 oh then that's awesome

  • As long as the seats aren't as appalling as in the 747-4 fleet that lufthansa has, I'm sure this aircraft will be a great asset to the airline.

  • @RainfulPhenix Agreed.

  • GALAXY C-5 IS BIGGER ???

  • @DEVASTATOR478 Yes and no a little bit longer fuselage and wings but C-5 is a little taller and fatter.

  • @MABurns888 thanks great ! I LOVE 747 ! THIS VERSION IS INCREDIBLE STRETCH ! DO YOU KNOW SOME DAY WILL ARRIVE 747 WITH TWO FLOORS LIKE AIRBUS A380 ???

  • As much as I love Airbus aircraft, this is one of the most beautiful planes ever, ever to be built.

  • Forget the A380 that airplane just aint cool it Looks like a Fat Kid! The 747 is and will Be my favourite airplane' the queen of the skys <3

  • great airplane

  • Who are thr 4 trolls that disliked this vid?

  • @PilotGleb probally airbus lovers

  • Lufthansa might fly a 747-800 to Charlotte.

  • the return of the queen!!!....i love the new 747-8i....sooo sexy

  • Comment removed

  • Why is there always a red-painted window in front of new aircrafts such as the A380 or B787 and B747-8 ?

  • @Shoxk when they rolle out a new plane there is always stuff on the airplane, as monitors... and other equipment, once i saw a video where the ''red painted window'' belonged to a water tank to simulate a passengers weight, from the outside i saw the window red too, and from there i always believed that was the red thing, but yes its very strange that every single plane has that red window, i would like to know too whats that for

  • Comment removed

  • I like watching planes progress into the future.

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who muted the sound? These engines are too quiet for my liking...I want NOISE.

  • 1 guy lives at the end of the runway

  • @MLewisUT yeah that's true. he doesn't like the 747 ;)

  • Try all you want Airbus...you will NEVER match, or even come close, to the beauty of Boeing aircraft.

  • @MLewisUT Boeing is fucking crap!!!!!

  • @kreativdronare..... dreamliner 787 has orders of over 900 aircraft...A380 = Concord.....airbus-eurotrash may know how to make a special plane, they just dont know how to make money for their customers..get over it...

  • @wilatemodel This guy is a serious die-hard-redneck!! Dreamliner and all the other

Boeing shit is just american crap!!! Get over it Buddy!!!
