Beau spent the 2009 season on the long-term injury list because of a badly dislocated left elbow he sustained in June 2008. As a result, he's had 3 surgeries, the last of which was a total elbow reconstruction. The dislocation had caused irreparable damage to the elbow ligaments, and so they had to use a graft from his hamstring to create the new elbow ligaments. Obviously, it needs time to heal, and hopefully he will be right for 2010, because West Coast need his presence o the field.
