Tip to all those who find this bread a little hard when cooked. I've made this bread a few times, each time it came out a little crunchy and hard so I decided to sub a few ingredients here and there. You need a little more water then 1 cup, I'd go for maybe 1/2 cup more, but thats after the 1 cup of water. To add a little softness to the bread, add 1 tsp of baking powder, I think that does the trick. I tried this way yesterday with the spinach pies and it came out perfecto! No crunch at all :)
Thank you very much for all your wonderful recipes. You are very comprehensive, informative, and fun to watch bcz u do everything step by step,. I have gotten so many delicious recipies from you..THANK you a million...
Hello Dede i was curious if you freeze the dough how do you defrost it? Would you just let it sit till it defrost and than use it right away or how? Thank!
Hello Mrs.Dede!! You're soo awesome!! I love watching your videos...I learn soo much masha'allah on your talent! Keep up the great work! I have a ? please. How much cups of four did you put in with the yeast in the beginning right after you added the sugar? Thanx as always!
Hello dede! I hope u are doing well....I want to know, if you are making pizza, should you place the pan on top of stove, under very low heat to slightly cook the dough in the middle, then place it and bake it in the oven? Also, i need to know where's the best shelf level should the pan be at when baking in the oven? for example, should it be at the middle or bottom shelf of oven? Thanx!
If you are using it to make pizza, then place the rack in the middle at 400 degrees and you should get an evenly cooked pizza. If you see that the top cheese is melted and brown the but the bottom crust is not then move the pan on a lower shelf and cook for another 10 minutes :)
wow great recipe.. I love all your video's Dede because they remind me of the stuff I grew up eating!! Would you recommend using this dough for something like fried dough? Also you should do a video for halva or halawa, its one of the best desserts!!
thanks for the comment, yes you can use it for frying, your can make spinach pies or meat pies and fry them up! I will work the halawa video into my upcoming schedule :)
you should kneed it for about a minute but you can kneed it more but remember the longer you kneed the dough the harder it will become when baked. Flour has gluten in it and the more you work the flour the more it is released and makes whatever your baking harder.
Just to let you know I tried few of your recipes and they were all easy to follow and turned out delicious. Thank you!!!
