  • Yeah. These are the folks we shouldn't tax very much, according to the Republicans. Sure.

  • cool cars

  • They should have just opened it up to the public.

  • @BeautyHealthZoneBlog

It was open to the public. Apparently, they could not or did not want to keep it going. Many private museums have the same problem.

However, once a municipality, state or the federal government buys or accepts a museum; the taxpayers have to foot the bill. And, the property is off the tax roll.

Sometimes; even then, the museum must charge an admission fee to cover operating expenses.

  • @BoudiccaBlanc

Well, I'm sure that someone will buy up the whole lot in no time. Everything looks to be in pristine condition.

  • Omg this looks so cool... what a waste to sell it.

  • @Kaandorpius

It is a private museum. The owners have to pay the upkeep and taxes on the building

(I suppose they could have donated it to the State of Florida)

These guys are old. They may need the money to enter an adult facility that offers "independent living" (Perhaps they took a hit during the economic downturn) Or, they may want to give the money to a charity/charities

(The Atlantic coast of Florida is probably not the safest place for a collection of antiques)

  • @BoudiccaBlanc

I'm sure they have their reasons, but damn, now it justs get locked up in some rich asshole's garage who's gonna sit buttnaked on the merry-go-round fappin himself while eating cotton candy.

  • @Kaandorpius

Hopefully, whomever purchases the items will keep them in a weather-proof buiding; in working order and in a place that is not prone to flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc..

These old musical instruments and carousels are expensive to keep in working order. The only people who know how work on them are professional restorationists (i.e. their services are not cheap)

  • @BoudiccaBlanc

Its all about the money ay...

  • @Kaandorpius

    Aye!

Any material object is prone to aging or degredation....

Even our bodies and our sun "age" ... LOL

  • @Kaandorpius how do u know these two didn't fapp away on them?
