  • The girl is actress Carla Borelli (she acted in the soaps Texas, Another World back in the late 70s, early 80s)

  • If they combined them, it could be an under-arm hair color/antiperspirant.

  • I've never seen 'em do an ad for two things at the same time so overtly but I could be lying or just forgetful...

  • Brunettes stink more?

  • i love how everything from like 1970-73 still looks like its from 1967-68 lol.

  • Good luck to her finding a phone booth today.

  • Was that Cousin It on that woman's head............YIKES!

  • @Simon5005 Well IT looked hot in any case! LOL

  • BRUNETTES ARE WINNING.

  • Can you just imagine the BUSH on that dame?

  • I want the soundtrack on iTunes.

  • Is she half sasquatch?

  • Hmm that's so weird a double commercial and for totally different types of productsp

  • Holy Cow that was epic!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's bru-NETTE, not BRU-nette!

  • BTW - the actress is Carla Borelli, who was on "Another World" on NBC in the late '70s.

  • This ad was clearly geared toward the parents of the guys who would later lust after Wonder Woman and Zena the Warrior Princess. Hot superhero babes . . . yummmm . . .

  • wow

  • lmao

  • ads like that when i was a kid are probably what gave me my hair fetish

  • I've a question for you, Rob.

My progressing age is turning my entire head white, as opposed to the Lily Munster streak and the odd hair here and there, even though I'm in my early 30's.

If I were to let it go white, could I apply Manic Panic to my white greys and do you think that it would turn out as well as when I used to strip my hair down first?

    Thank you in advance.

  • @thegirl44 Manic Panic ? Cute ! I was just making a comment about the attractive model.

  • Ah, I thought that you meant "loveshair" as in you're a hair dresser, Not, "loveshair" as in you have the same attraction to long healthy hair that my husband does.

    Gotch ;).

  • YouTube user "bongomanfromdalou", thanks for the historic information about Calm deodorant. Because Alberto-Culver had introduced New Dawn haircolor probably the same year as Calm.

  • ok is it just me, when i read the title of this video i immediately imaged a 2in1 aerosol product that covers up those pesky greys (underarm grey hair?) while keeping you fresh. lol all the while clicking the video out of curiosity i wondered but doesnt the color get on your clothes????

  • i'd forgotten all about calm deodorant!

  • God I LOVED woman like that!

    The Raquel Welch look...

  • M-m-m-m-m ... long-haired, unshaven chicks of the seventies ...

Oh crap, did I type that out loud?

  • Not such a strange crossover when you consider For Brunettes Only and Calm 2 were both made by Alberto-Culver (of VO5 fame)...the original Calm was introduced in 1964 as the first aerosol powder deodorant for women. Calm 2 was a reformulated version 9(the way Ajax laundry detergent was sold from 1967 to 1969 as Ajax 2)...

  • THANKS man had vivid memories of this commercial. Thanks for posting!!!!!

  • Whatever happened to Calm One?

  • calm 2 puts a hole in the ozone layer so big al gore can fly his carbon footprint through it

  • Shmujew... "Al Gore" + "hole". Yes, they seem to go together, but something is missing. Hmm...

  • Whoa she was smoking!

  • Actress is Carla Borelli, who was a soap regular a couple times in the 70s.

  • I've been wanting for years to see one of these sexy "For Brunettes Only" ads that I only had dim (but impressionable) memories of. Thanks!! (and hope there are more to be posted).

  • I have a few others... I'll see if I can dig one up.

  • Thanks! Those'll be great to see again.

  • Posted on from 1971... Search for "1971 For Brunettes Only Hair Color commercial".

  • Totally H-O-T!!

  • Do you have any idea how old that ad is? LOL.

  • Calm 2-Its benzene free.

  • lmao I love these vids!

just wondering though... are brunettes the only ones allowed to use the Calm 2? LMAO

    *being rhetorical ppl*

  • finally! products for my lifestyle!

  • Thank you for posting this ad. I loved these ads as a young boy. those thigh boots stirred feelings that never went away.

  • Thank you Wookie!

  • How about that product bundling! Bet someone got a bonus for that concept.

Nice one, Wook. And happy 2008 to you and yours.
