I would still rather have the CSL, purely because the E92 is mass produced and less 'unique'. The CSL sounds lovely, and looks like pure fun to drive. I have to say, the E92 does look better in my opinion. Boy..... I hope they still have cars like these when i grow up : ]

The M3 V8 definately has the power !, but the old CSL still has the best handling. (15 seconds faster round the Nurgburg).

guys I have a bmw m3 e46 with a management chip done by dave g in Uxbridge and nothing else and my car will wipe the floor with both of these cars, I"ve tried it , maybe I'm lucky and bought a good one.

Actually the CSL is quite a bit faster around the Nürburgring Nordschleife than the E92 M3.

I like the E46 CSL much more than the E92 M3 Although you do have to admit. The CSL runs semi slick track tires. The E92 runs street DOT sport spec tires

E92 M3 is available though with the pilot sport cup tyres now but yet it still cannot match a CSL on track, but not such a bad thing considering the CSL is purpose built and the E92 has to be compromised in terms of all round refinement and usability

actually go look up top gear...talking bout the slower DE engined 350z has the same lap time as a E46 m3...so yeah a HR 350z(07-08) would be faster

the csl is amazing. e46 m3 is amazing in general, but i dont think bmw would have any flaws in the new m3. around a track the csl would keep up but the e92 m3 is better

I'm sure the e92 is awesome, but it's a lot heavier than the CSL and straight line speed isn't everything around a track. I'm still convinced the CSL would take a standard e92 around a tight and twisty race circuit.

how much heavier is the e92 if ur sure? i know for a fact that the new v8 is actually lighter than the old 6 and i heared the csl was only a couple hundred pounds lighter than the e46.

fat car it maybe but its full of techonlogy and have u seen whats inside a BMW M3 CSL... lol .. absoulutely nothing lol, not even radio,A/C the boot is like cardboard... it is stripped down for less weight, but an M3 E92 is not a kids racing car its more like luxury excecutive, for people maybe who work far and travel on the M4 frequently and also wants to drive with comfort and power.
