Thank goodness for these videos. I keep missing them so it's great that someone has put them up here. And come to think of it it's ABC anyway, so youtube shouldn't have to much grief with these videos being here.
@TorchwoodUK As far as I know the ABC doesn't do any HD stuff other than news at the moment. Though I don't live in Australia so I'm not exactly an expert on why. :P
@TorchwoodUK Then the problem is none of the releases are 480p. All the episode releases (official and by release groups) are 640x352. If Wikipedia is correct the ABC broadcasts at 720 x 576 but none of the releases are at that resolution. I spent a few hours trying to track down HD or at least higher resolution video but no dice.
@ChaserEpisodes seems like ABC could be doing a better job with its picture quality, hate stretching 360p to even the medium size video frame on YouTube.
But I sent you a 704x576 of one of the episodes! I have episode 8, 7, 6, 5 in 704x576. I got the TV tuner after 4 and recorded 5 in the dead of the morning on ABC2.
I've cut some small bits and put them in my channel but they're small tidbits. The versions you're likely finding are ripped from ABC iView. They take ages to upload though, each being about 400 - 500 MB each.
@ChaserEpisodes The problem isnt that the resolution is low 640 x 352 is fine when uncompressed (or using mpeg) the problem is youtube shits all over low resolution files which is stupid. I really think youtube needs to have a high quality low resolution option as most films andtv shows to date aren't in HD (as they were made before the use of HD cameras was made popular)
