Okay this is by far one of the best videos on circus cruelty. Circus animals need not be abolished completely. What’s wrong with dogs? Other small animals that are not too wild and that don't need too much space can be trained without any abuse, just positive reinforcement. Fifteen minutes work in front of a noisy crowd in exchange for free food and lodgings is not a bad deal. It’s a better life than that of most people, come to think of it.

There are nerves in skin that respond to the lightest of touch! On vulnerable spots like the trunk embouchure, legs and back, skin can be around 2.5-3 cms,but behind the ears, by the eye, on the abdomen, chest and shoulders it is as think as paper! An elephant's skin is very sensitive to the sun and can get sunburns so get your damn facts straight

Its a fact that vetrinarians have said these elephants have developed all sorts of wounds and alements due to thier treatment in ciruses. 50-150 to be kept chained then perform then load up again!

Many of them were taken from the wild away from their mothers. Their mothers were often shot dead in order to steal her baby. It is you who have no idea. My dad worked in a circus as well have many others who have all said the animals were treated like garbage! Many people weren't allowed near the animals but would take a peek at them and catch a trainer beating them. Its sick and its cruel and it needs to stop. Fact is you know very little about the elephant body! You said "the skin on an elephant is thick" partly true on some areas of the elephant, but the fact of the matter is, they still have nerve endings in the skin! They aren't numb! Thickness off skin has nothing to do with pain tolerance! These elephants are in a perpetual workout! They can't tell you "Hey boss, my muscles are hurting pretty bad today, I think I need a rest." I doubt it would matter if they could!

For the record...the instrument they're using on the elephants is made of either metal or sturdy wood with a big, sharp metal hook on the business end. It's animal abuse, plain and simple. Exactly. What do they get out of beating these beautiful, smart animals?? I saw this at the Texas renaissance festival last year. They were giving people rides on elephants and would beat them with sharp rods to get them to walk and then tie them up and they'd stand there for hours and do the swaying motion like the end of this video shows. I've told everyone i know not to go to the Texas ren fest.
Um, excuse me, but I work at TRF and I hve never once seen a trainer hit one of our elephants. The owner of the festival spends most of his money making sure ALL of our animals are well cared for. From the elephants to the horses, none of our animals are distressed or distrust humans. Hell, I've been to the elephant's enclosure after hours and they allow us to pet them and will even "hug". Would an abused animal trust humans that much?

Okay this is by far one of the best videos on circus cruelty. Circus animals need not be abolished completely. What’s wrong with dogs? Other small animals that are not too wild and that don't need too much space can be trained without any abuse, just positive reinforcement. Fifteen minutes work in front of a noisy crowd in exchange for free food and lodgings is not a bad deal. It’s a better life than that of most people, come to think of it.
Elephants are just too big, too wild, too stubborn and need an entire park.

They're small, weak people, who take these animals when they are young, show them a life of being beaten and tortured....and then say it's great that they do what they want????? You want to be a trainer, then you train them. You don't beat them into submission. This is animal terrorism. There are nerves in skin that respond to the lightest of touch! On vulnerable spots like the trunk embouchure, legs and back, skin can be around 2.5-3 cms,but behind the ears, by the eye, on the abdomen, chest and shoulders it is as think as paper! An elephant's skin is very sensitive to the sun and can get sunburns so get your damn facts straight

Do you have any idea how painful it is for elephants to do some of these things over and over. Not to mention the everyday aches and pains. Its a fact that vetrinarians have said these elephants have developed all sorts of wounds and alements due to thier treatment in ciruses. 50-150 to be kept chained then perform then load up again!

Many of them were taken from the wild away from their mothers. Their mothers were often shot dead in order to steal her baby. It is you who have no idea. Fact is you know very little about the elephant body! You said "the skin on an elephant is thick" partly true on some areas of the elephant, but the fact of the matter is, they still have nerve endings in the skin! They aren't numb! Thickness off skin has nothing to do with pain tolerance! These elephants are in a perpetual workout! They can't tell you "Hey boss, my muscles are hurting pretty bad today, I think I need a rest." I doubt it would matter if they could!

obvisously circuses and cruel. don't try telling people their not. they beat the animals and teach them to do unsafe things that they wouldn't do in the wild. It's minutes of entertainment for humans, and a lifetime if misery for the elephants. Just think about it. shut animal circuse down!

This really pisses me off.This is why i have never taken my children to the circus and i advise people i know not to go because of the way the innocent animals are treated ,just to get them to entertain people.All circuses need to be shut down ASAP!!!

The man at the begining keeps telling the elephant to 'come here' and when it does get dragged over, it gets beaten on the head. It gets no praise whatsoever for doing something right, only beaten no matter if it gets it right or wrong.

For the record...the instrument they're using on the elephants is made of either metal or sturdy wood with a big, sharp metal hook on the business end. It's animal abuse, plain and simple. The circus that employs these morons need to be heavily fined and or shut down until they get the message that animal abuse is morally wrong and unprofitable financially.

Exactly. What do they get out of beating these beautiful, smart animals?? I saw this at the Texas renaissance festival last year. They were giving people rides on elephants and would beat them with sharp rods to get them to walk and then tie them up and they'd stand there for hours and do the swaying motion like the end of this video shows. I've told everyone i know not to go to the Texas ren fest.

Um, excuse me, but I work at TRF and I hve never once seen a trainer hit one of our elephants. The owner of the festival spends most of his money making sure ALL of our animals are well cared for. From the elephants to the horses, none of our animals are distressed or distrust humans. Hell, I've been to the elephant's enclosure after hours and they allow us to pet them and will even "hug". Would an abused animal trust humans that much?

Its not all cirkus who treats there animals like that.
I know many do like that, but there are aslo some that treats there animals well.
Ive worked at several onese where tyhey get treated well and get a lot of love and hugs.

And not all of them have the small cages some have really big ones, like the ones in dr doolittle, you just put everyone in that order that every cirkus is mean, but hey a reality check, not all of them are as bad as u want them to look.
