  • I want all of us to look in our sheds, barns, and trailers and find a lot of things that we can give away to help these horses. I am willing to spend a few months to travel around and give FREE help to these horses. I am so sorry that they are in so much pain. I am going to look into starting a group that will travel to these places with me. I want to help the horses here in the U.S. and we have SPCAs that will do that thru the law. We all can give a little to help a lot. Who's with me???

  • OMFG this made me want to puk!! Them poor horses and a swear in another of your videos i seen some foals, or what looked like youngsters with foal tails. That poor 2 year old at the end. So nice to think my horses are wrapped up warm on this cold wet night with a belly full of feed and hay!!! Wish this would end

  • I cannot afford to donate myself, as I can barely keep my own pets in the best veterinary care (I will go without just so they are in good health!) but I will encourage others to consider donations. It is blessed work they do for these animals. Thank you for bringing their work to the eyes of the world.

  • What a miserable country. The wealth in India is so ill divided it's rediculous. While the super rich are living like royalty there are orphanages filled with starving babies and people and animals roam the streets like walking skeletons.

  • its very sad and

    outrageous

  • Horses exist in a completely different socio-economic and historical context for a poor suburban farmer in India than for an experienced sport horseman in the west. The question is: can we elevate the quality of life and care for these labor equines without increasing the cost of upkeep for poor farmers? It's difficult, but we did implement some simple ideas to treat lameness at a far lower cost (to the NGO, not the farmer) than daily oral NSAIDs.

    Thanks again for the comments.

    Cheers,

    Ash

  • I didn't post these videos to provoke anger, but rather to

    a) illustrate extreme equine medical conditions we often only see in a textbook in the west, and

    b) offer insight into global human-equine interaction.

It is sometimes difficult not to judge their condition by western standards, but these videos can be viewed as an education in cultural difference.

  • Thank you all for the comments. Keep in mind that often the owners usually dont have it any better than their horses. These people do indeed lift heavy loads, work long hard days, have only rudimentary education, and can barely afford food and medical care for themselves.

  • Unbelievable. It appears that the horses are disposable to these people. I'd like to rub their backs raw and force them for carry a heavy load all fricken day long. And I'd like to make them walk on injured legs & feet with a raw back until they eventually die from their injuries.

Sound radical? Look at these animals.

  • In America, owners of those types of horses would be prosecuted. I cant believe the saddle sores, etc, on the back of that one individual. It's terrible how some people treat animals.

    Btw, you seem very knowledgeable.

  • oh my god. and there still working those animals?

  • sigh its terrible, im a vet student and it pains me to see the animals like this :( and not being able to do anything about it, and not anything done about it

  • Wats even worse is they owners are still workin dem hard!
