Is 50$ per night expensive? 200$ per night? You can find hotels at 50$ / night, even less. They are called "business hotel". Not full comfort but fully functional (and often good situation) ^_^

Most likely you will need a valid visa to live here first ^_^

Then, for sure, to speak japanese would be much helpful than english. Like in any country, it's better to speak the local language, yes. English can help but it's by far not as convenient, especially in Japan :oD

I got a job offer in the Ginza area.

Is it expensive to live there? I must from the looks of it, with the shops and all, it's looks pretty costly..!

Is it a nice place to live? Or is it just for tourism?

Well, I think that unless your job offers you an extremely good income, you'll not be able to find any reasonable priced place to live in Ginza. All the center of Tokyo is usually quite expensive. Try a little outside. There are very good public transportation facilities, even if it can be very crowded ;oP
