  • he is like..... lestat...... *w*

  • @TheAtary101 true dat..i like dis!!

  • Saw Peter last week again, two shows back to back in So Cal.. He was stunning, as always. That makes 4 shows this year. : )

  • Just saw Peter Murphy last night (awesome as always, BUT! The resurrection tour was...legend...) Thank you for posting! woooooooooo!

  • 0:50 JERSEY GOTH

  • I must say that Bauhaus caught my liking when I heard the first notes of the song Bela Lugosi's Dead. It's the first time I listen to a piece like this. It's really hard for me to listen to new things, but I don't regret listening to them and making an effort to look for their songs.

  • Bauhaus! And look at all those darklings! I wish i was there. :(

  • SKYRIM

  • I'm so jealous.

  • Bauhaus the legend of Goth

  • @PsychoticVampyreGirl, whats the difference between black metal and goth??

  • my bauhaus shirt has skunk vapor on it, but I still wear it cuz that's my band

  • Saw Peter Murphy live last sunday, still amazing.

  • Why is there a tv instead of a lead singer where is he??!!! Please can someone help me out

  • @watchtower1303 Peter Murphy is the lead singer. This opening song was performed in this way purely for theatrical effect. Peter came out onstage for the rest of the concert :)

  • Where is the lead singer, wats with the tv being there, I'm so confused. Will someone please explain this to me

  • 0:41 that guys looks an awful lot like Rozz Williams..

  • I got to see this tour at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia.... man what a show.

  • i dont want to live in a world where my chemical ramance is considered a goth band

  • @hmmtheseeder But they're not considered a Goth band. Who ever thinks that needs to listen to more music to understand what exactly the difference is from goth and whatever MCR is haha.

  • 13 years ago tonight.... Mesa Amphitheater...warm autumn night, the air thick with clove smoke...

  • I triple-dog dare you!

  • jst like alcaseltza

  • I just dissolved.........amazing!

  • this rocks for sure. juicy beat.

  • i was there...GREAT GREAT GREAT

  • Wow. I just peed my pants a tiny bit. This is fantastic.

  • 0:50 JERSEY GOTH LOL

  • I love it! I want it, I cry...

  • Since Peter became a Muslim, does he need a second wife? ; )

  • @jrmetmoi

What? When did he become a Muslim?

  • @PsychoticVampyreGirl It's true. Some years back. He married a Muslim Turkish lady and they're raising thier kids as Muslims. But he did convert to Islam yes, that's why old songs that he used to sing in Bauhaus that had more 'Catholic' language, he won't them anymore.

  • @PsychoticVampyreGirl Peter "converted" to Islam when he married Beyhan. His wife is a Turkish Muslim, and his two children were raised Muslim. He has lived in Istanbul, Turkey since the early 90's. A man who wants to marry a practicing Muslim woman must first convert before they can be married in a mosque. Oddly, a woman who is non Muslim does not have to convert to marry a Muslim man. (Peter was raised Roman Catholic, youngest of 6 or 8 children, I forget how many )

  • @krallstello marrying in mosque is personal choise in turkey and you do not have any mariage rights if you do that. (no alimony, no inherit etc)

people mary in marrying office normally, which has no religious references.

have knowlege before u speak please, its turkey. not iran or suudi arabia

  • @ebrutosbaga My apologies, I meant no disrespect. I was given inaccurate information. TY for the correction : )

  • THE definitive performance of "Bela" Nothing else even comes close.

  • Saw Bauhaus around 1983 at Caesars palace Bradford England and they have stayed with me ever since. Pete Murphy and Danny Ash have to be two of the coolest blokes on the planet

  • I'm speechless. I saw them once. It kills me to know that I'll never be able to see them again.

  • @rickysioux

At least you got to see them :) I wasn't around when they came out and I just know them a 2 or 3 years now. Most of their fans older then me have seen them so you should be happy with the one time seeing them live.

Do they still do live shows?

  • They opened their reunion tour with this, having missed out on them first time around (I was 13 when they split) to say I was excited would be the understatement of the century. The white face on the TV screen with the band giving it the biggun on stage was perfect. I have to confess a little bit of wee came out but that's between you and me, don't tell anyone else.

  • awesome!!!!

  • awesome!

  • goths not dead, it just smells that way.

  • @forcesofattraction Undead.

  • saw these guys live in 98 in philly. it was the most incredible show i have ever experienced. simply awesome. i get shivers thinking about it.

  • I Isaw these guys in Athens-1984.we was only 400 funs (including skins=did not like them-spitting on face Peter. But ! When the band start playing Bela Lugosi ! the skins remast speechless like everybody.I have no words to discribe the feelings.Never saw a band like them,a perfomer like Peter.! Exept The Sisters of Mercy -an other kind of

  • No matter if you are a metal fan,a hard rock dude, a hip hop fan or whatever, you must listen these guys at least once

  • 11 dislikes are from kids who think My Chemical Romance is "goth"

  • @Marcuskristicus Very nicely said, The only reaal modern Gothic rock and garage band are The Horrors and they are from britain too. Listen to the songs count in fives and jack the ripper

  • @Marcuskristicus

No sorry don't you mean the 11 dislikes are from the kids who think 'Black Metal' is 'Goth'?

Yes i know what your saying i was trying to make another point

  • Fucking. Jealous.

  • The ultimate brilliant band.

  • Post-peak Geriatric Goth Rock

  • @sitjar

I was just thinking that. Goth isn't dead, it's just geriatric.

  • @AlmightyScubba I did see them 14 times first time around. Including their last gig at the Hammersmith Odeon. Recently, all my bauhaus collectibles from the era got destroyed in a flood, including set-lists i'd collected from the monitors at the end of the gigs. Gutted.

I still have most of the ticket stubs though and a lot of photographs, though have lost the negatives....again, gutted!

  • @sitjar

Aw man, that sucks. I'm jealous that you got to see them so much. I had one chance to see them live and I couldn't go. It was their very last show ever.

  • @AlmightyScubba The first few times I saw them they were amazing but then I followed them on the northern leg of their "mask" tour and they played pretty much the same set every night, so got a bit predictable.

Still, the music was unique for the time and formed a large part of the soundtrack to my youth.

  • I saw them play their first gig November 1978 (unlike many books that tell you it was New Year's Eve 1978).

They played to around 20 of Us at Nene College Park Campus before a pretenders gig....they were full of so much energy even then when they didn't have much kit and Murphy was menacing! Off stage though he was a really gentle ,friendly guy !

  • @rael1999 showing your age there rael.

But yes, Pete Murphy was very menacing at his earlier shows. First time I saw them was at Rock City in Nottingham promoting kick in the eye and he almost hit me in the face with his mic stand. He did throw the mic stand at a guy in the audience who was spitting at him and as far as I know, hit the guy on the head with it. not sure if he knocked him out but it was a pretty menacing show in that respect.

  • incredible the real goth band and the of all time

  • @stephecono Bauhaus is always been dark, but this band was never about death in the beginning. The young fans take it to a different place than where it started. Bauhaus is my youth I should know! As Peter would say, "Kick ass is the very route word" Don't ever stop making music Bauhaus, we’re listening still! Kick Kick Kick!

  • @1066deliverance YES! We were all PUNKS! goth came about because EVERYONE had to give it a name! (Years after) Bauhaus IS NOT LIKE ANYOTHER BAND! My friends and I would run to the RECORD store when new Bauhaus EP's or LP's came out :) We had to see The Hunger every year because Bauhaus plays Bella in the beginning of the movie. I half expected Peter to fly away like a bat!

  • sweeeet!!!!

  • this guy (peter murphy right?) has to be in the top 10 for most badass voices ever heard

  • The people in this video are SO lucky to be able to witness an event like this live. Bauhaus are the true gothic artists Im tired of other clowns pretending. This band started it all! long live the bauhaus!

  • I saw them open up for Nine Inch Nails in 2006. It was the most amazing show I have EVER seen. I can now die happy, which is ironic for most goths.

  • @LilCatLaughs

Nine Inch Nails should be opening for them.

  • @LilCatLaughs I saw them open for NIN at Coachella... AMAZING!!!

  • @ivehearditallbefore NIN should open for them

  • NIN should be opening for them! Shit!

  • "I dare you to be real" Eric Reed Boucher once had the guts to say; 'Y not everyday r u so afraid What will peple say?' Because ur role is planned for u There's nutin u can do But stop n think it fru But what will da boss say 2 u N what will ur girlfriend say to u n da people out on da street they might glare at u n whadya no ur pretty self-conscious 2 Why don't u take ur social regulations And shove 'em up ur ass Why don't u take ur social regulations And shove 'em up ur ass
  • @forcesofattraction can you... type in english sounds like a good quote but it b hard 2 red wen u typ lik dis

  • @scbwrhcp , yeah I know, but the quote was longer than the character limit allowed, I had to go back and 'shorten' my what I would have called anyway breif message. it's the lyrics to 'Halloween by the Dead Kennedys, ric b AKA Jello B. lemeno how it goes.

  • I saw Peter Murphy live a few months back, amazing concert although I'd love to be able to see Bauhaus too.

  • i saw them twice in philly and one of the shows was at this little club. i tell you the best show i have EVER seen !! you have to love a band like this even after they stopped playing and got back on the road again they didn't miss a beat or chord! they were and are incredible!

  • @Nessie1001 same here

  • I'd give almost anything to see them live. Beautiful, dark, romantic, genius band. Words can't describe.

  • lucky people

  • Bauhaus are a fucking great band. Not sure why blokes who are old enough to know better and still live with their mum need to dress like an 18 year old goth. You can still ike goth music without dressing like a twat. Grow up. I did.

  • Pete Murphy's gotta be a vampire

  • I saw Bauhaus at the Sunrise Musical Theatre in Sunrise, FL 9/16/98 and I remember Murphy leaning into the mic during the show and saying 'NO PICTURES". Apparently, I don't think he wanted the annoying flash of the cameras during the show. Bauhaus is in my top 5 shows of all time and I feel fortunate to have experienced this.

  • hahahahah comparing manson with bauhaus? those musnt know shit

  • Alright it's not like you can really compare the two artists... Bauhaus has its own unique thing going on completely different from industrial. So comparing Manson to these guys is just unfair. I know some one is trying to follow a trend in ashimalicedied here some cute little puppy following the crowd. Sure I wasn't born in this era either however I went and discovered the original "goth" movement for myself did a lot of research and I already had a pretty extensive industrial background.

  • Alright it's not like you can really compare the two artists... Bauhaus has its own unique thing going on completely different from industrial. So comparing Manson to these guys is just unfair.

  • Wish I could have been there.

  • so many goths....

  • caught em in houston around this time. amazing. good to see they were probably better at that sometimes than when they were around the first time

  • had to be born in fucking way after this FUCK, whats with those costumes

  • This gave me chills.

  • 0:51 - JerseyGoth

  • I got messed up with Peter Murphy during Convergence 6.. He is a great guy.

  • Who is better.... Bauhaus? or Justin Beiber? LMFAO!!!!!

  • I was at this show. The Hollywood Paladium 1997. Freakin' awesome!!!

  • I was there, I was there. I can finally boast that on the you tube comment thing. One.

  • they should get themselves a tan

  • like this if your heart dropped in your stomach a little.

  • i sheded a couple of tears watching this video )':

but it's all the more reason to suck it up and get back to buliding my time machine

soon i shall join these true goths and rejoice and behold the band that created

    goth rock.

  • @No1sWaGg3RLiK3M3 actully death rock

  • @No1sWaGg3RLiK3M3

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @No1sWaGg3RLiK3M3 Take me with you! I hate being born in the wrong era! *cries*

  • Alien Sex Fiend, All Gone Dead, Tragic Black, Half Head, Velvet Acid Christ, and Bauhaus- greatest mix ever

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • I dear you to be proud, to dear to shout aloud.....simply perfect

  • @maogrevena Which is less than can be said for your spelling. Sorry but I couldn't resist!

  • I saw them open up for NIN 4 years ago. As cool as that was it was NOTHING as cool as this

  • I myself am deeply jealous

  • First sounds aren't Pink Floyd's ones from "Echoes"? :o

  • dare those

  • A long way from Trinity Church, Bristol in the eighties.

  • I've seen them live in Milan, Italy, in 1998.

    Best concert ever

  • Fuck if they were to play at least once more here in Canada.. I would fucking go.. defiantly!! +the lead singer is hot... fuck being 17 sucks.. I never got to live in the wonderful era of the late 70's and early 80's.. To see beautiful music played by such talented people would have been fantastic. and seeing goth for what it was truly... Now a days goth is usually all the same.. from what I hear no one looked the same back then.. it was pear being yourself..

  • @Vempyra6Demon I know! Im 15 and all we ever hear about are those Disney fucks... it's really unfortunate.. :(

  • @LoveKillerXx Agreed.

  • @LoveKillerXx hannah montana can take some lessons from these guys :d

  • @arnedagsfghfgh seriously!!!

  • @Vempyra6Demon great that someone from your era admits that music from ours is better.

  • @pawnsacrifice1 Well of course. I mean you don't see the lead singer of bauhaus pole dancing and causing a scandal with disney or posting half soft-core porn on the internet and blaming the media for peeking and spying or some other bollocks.

  • @Vempyra6Demon I can appreciate music from all eras from the 60's onwards except now because generally music today is utter utter crap.

  • @pawnsacrifice1 Agreed. I do enjoy some of the music from today.. I also enjoy old music. I actually kinda wish for these guys to return once more.. But if they came to my town, unless people from Toronto and other places came then i would be the only one at the concert.. ^_^

  • The guy at 0:42 is really sexy.

  • @MarilynMess i agree with you 100%!

  • What an incredibly evil version. The vocals are just creepy...

  • i ws born too late to see them :(

  • @H2HOtex how are we losers, if we are losers then clearly you are for clicking onto this song and commenting and we can listen to what we want and lady gaga, cheryl cole, gwen stefani and britney spears is the crap music

  • Most missed reunions in this century, of one of the most celebrated and grownbreaking bands in the post-punk era ever.

Thank you for the music, thank you for the records, so far..

Get the wheels running Peter.. you're not dead yet.

  • this is something incredible!

  • What I would have given to be there!

  • God, I love reading comments left by the dregs of society who think it's cool to argue on YouTube about ridiculous and inane things such as: opinion.

  • pro goth und mehr

  • Never got ta see em and probaly never will now

  • I always thought the cure to be the orginal "GOTHS". bauhaus are ok but so cheesy. LOL Manson is wearing a cape now to. Alot of people say the cure are the original goths, some say bauhaus are. Catch me if I fall I'm losing hold, I cant just carry on this way. (Faith) great album from the cure

  • heyy BAUHAUS RULES!!!...YEAH!!..ILOVE YOU PETER MURPHY

  • Love the band, hate the fans !

  • @youtalkiname Snobs: They're pretty good for lulz.

  • @youtalkiname well said

  • Funny, the really goth likes Bauhaus, Siouxsie And The Banshees and ¨The Cure, it's funny because I like gothic music and I never wanted to kill myself... Such a lost generation, bunch of cowards, who think it's better die than live.... SIGH... These suicide generations makes me sick. Wake up for your lives, instead of being selfish...

  • one of my fav songs

  • us goths are the best. i love you brothers <3

  • physicaly Manson looks like Peter. And the music REALLY sounds like MM and the spooky kids.

  • @Jackantonhuxley what??!? u blind? deaf? this is WORLDS apart.

  • Marilyn Manson who...

  • I was lucky to be there in Brussels

  • BTW the mixing was way low on the band...another bit of FYI....for those who know ;)

  • You know what's funny is...a friend of mine sold Peter his outfit that night of the reunion....a bit of FYI....yeah I'm stealing the show, but nah.....BAUHAUS is untouched on ALL levels....=)

  • when was this?

  • @GenzoluvsKarl FUUCCCKKK being born a 90's kid.

  • @00000thatoneguy00000 I was born in 94 and have always thought that the 90's was such a boring decade ... i also see the 2000's as a terrible era with the rise of Hip hop and Dub step ...

One of the few good things to come out of the 90's was cradle of filth though :)

  • @AntagonistMusic i was born in 94 too and so wish i could have been alive to experience the 80s in all their glory such a drag

  • @AntagonistMusic COF used atual Goth influences into their work and now those BlackMetal ppl hate them 4 it.

  • This makes me sooo fucking sad. I missed EVERYTHING. T_____T

  • @00000thatoneguy00000 yep, you did. Go kill yourself.

  • @azynkron I really should. Life has no meaning anymore...

  • i saw 'em twice - once at an outdoor venue in cleveland, and the second at a college auditorium just north of DC (strathmore?). both were good shows. the strathmore show had more of a spirit from the audience. but THIS footage makes those shows look like it was an afternoon of chamber music. very cool....i think they will bring it on the road once more. do it!

  • 51 SECONDS LOL

  • holy shit at 53 sec. is my fucking uncle sable sex from who killed bambi? holy shit man no fucking way

  • @arikoyamato No thank you.

  • MM's got nothing on Bauhaus!

  • @ashimalicedied Your comparing MM a wannabe industrial 2 a Bauhaus an original Goth Band?

  • @666deathghost Ahem. I am sick of ubergoth pricks like you on youtube. Yes I am comparing that loser Manson to Bauhaus. (Even though I know Bauhaus is wayyy out of their league.) What, I can't express my opinion anymore? Can't anyone? Why don't you mind your own business?

  • @ashimalicedied No you can't this is youtube I can ask or say what ever I want and whats your problem you got a bat stuck up yur ass or something? U having your period? BTW MM sucks dick! End of story.

  • @666deathghost Um fyi if you can ask or say whatever you want than so can I. No I do not have a bat up my ass and last time I checked only women got their periods. I never said I liked Manson, I like a few of their songs but have gotten way sick of them considering my ex was obsessed. Grow up.

  • @ashimalicedied Wow I've forgotten who the fuck u r and ur now commiting on what i've said like a month ago? Wow... And I thought u was done talking.

  • @ashimalicedied He would openly admit that one. So would Trent.

  • @ashimalicedied

    Marilyn Monroe?

  • @ashimalicedied How did MM get mixed into the conversation.

  • @ashimalicedied ur right but mm is pretty cool

  • @nhdaniele i can smell the stench of DEATH!

  • *cryes* omg *cryes harder* i wasen't there *floods the room* oh i wasn't there oh nonono bauaaahhsss

  • To all you lucky bastards who have seen Bauhaus or was @ this show... FUCK YOU with love. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous right now. I've been told for years, they said they would never play again and here is recent Bauhaus. Pete sounds the same. Thank you for the post, lucky bitch:0p

  • the riviera in chicago, show one of two... best. show. ever.
