  • Delicioso, estupendo, Ben Selvin es único.

  • ¡I´m so surprised! Though since my teens I´ve been hearing records of music from bands like Jean Goldkette, Duke Ellington, Paul Whiteman, Fred Waring, and others, from popular music and Jazz, I had never heard of this band of Ben Selvin: it is very good. To my wit, no less than those of Goldkette of Fred Waring. Thank you for a wonderful upload.

  • @alontas Ben Selvin made more records in the twenties and thirties than any other band leader. Some of the biggest names in jazz worked for him before they became famous: guys like Benny Goodman, Eddie Lang, the Dorsey brothers, Bunny Berigan. . . Selvin often recorded under pseudonyms like The Knickerbockers, Lloyd Keating and The Broadway Nitelites, which may be why he isn't as well-known today as the other top dance band leaders of the time.

  • I must think on Marlene Dietrichs first Film "The blue Angel"

  • Darlings love it x

You're the sail of my Loveboat,

  • i just did a closing show last night of Good News. how sad! i was Professor Kenyon and the version of this song that i learned was:

You're the cream in my coffee,

You're the salt in my stew,

You will always be, my necessity,

    I'd be lost without you!

  • What a beautiful song!! I love that add for Maxwell House Coffee

  • That vocalist was on Edison a lot, had an Irish name....

  • Excellent alternate version to my favorite by the Bob Haring Orchestra (which I uploaded some time ago)!

  • This song has definitely given me the greatest CAFFEINE high. What a wonderful toe-tapping arrangement!

  • A truly great band and fox trot.......

  • Ben Selvin sure is getting a lot of (deserved) attention lately. Fortunately he lived long enough to be discovered in his old age and he loved it. He especially enjoyed attending gatherings of collectors (where he was often introduced as the "mystery" guest).

  • Great.
