  • "Information is the currency of democracy."

  • FLAME WAR!!!

  • Brilliant vid.

  • I love how ignorant you liberals and conservatives are. Your both wrong... slyfoxx7, among others... Congradulations, all politicians are evil and the days of Lincoln and Jefferson are fucking over! This video is about Thomas Jefferson... Yet alot of people are having a democrat vs. republican pissing contest instead of discussing the videos subject matter. It's amazing how many of you sheep really exist! Who's blind loyalty is to the sheep herder, who stands to profit from your wool.

  • funny how dems our fine with bailing out every failure. yet, they get there panties in a bind over free trade. moreover, it was the progressive ideas of lincoln and the newly emerging republicans who sought to end slavery. jefferson claimed all men were created equal, but what he really intended was self governance even if it was corrupt and immoral. if you are concerned with fairness and freedom, vote GOP. if you advocate flippant redistribution and majority rule (majority abuse) vote donkey.

  • LOL! The GOP did a fine job rubberstamping all of Bush's agenda and look where that got us...I voted for Bush & my GOP reps twice and I will NEVER make that mistake again!

The GOP needs to redefine itself! Right now it is the party that destroyed Capitalism and spreads hate. The GOP needs to get Jesus out of politics and admit the horrific mistakes of the past and maybe I can begin to respect them. Until then I want nothing to do with the broken party of the past!

  • Where did it get us? Seriously? What did he do that is so bad? Destroy Capitalism? The Donkeys are the ones who want a public option so they can control the Insurance Industry. What is the problem with health care? It only became a problem when someone said it was a problem thats what sucks about our society. Things become problems when one deems it a problem.

  • WOW? You are serious, huh? Or are you part the right wing crowd that is proud of their ignorance and simple minded approach to a complex world?

Did George "W" Bush not teach anything about simple mindedness and approaching complex problems with ignorant ideas?

If you honestly think there is nothing wrong with the health care system in America then what else can I say...Good Luck!

  • There is nothing wrong with it. Absolutely nothing. Its just a scam to get more money for the government. If you can name someone that died because they didn't have health care please let me know.

  • Flippant redistribution and majority abuse you just described the last 8 years to a tee. The stunning thing is the outright blindness of the right to see their own incredible faults. You think your ideology surpasses human nature. You are fools of the highest order and hopefully your ideology has been put on the scrapheap of history. Shame on you and your ilk, to hell with you if you admit none.

  • ...if Karl Rove had worked for John Adams!

  • LOL, this sounds exactly like a modern negative political ad, and those are so the arguments the Federalists would've made. Gr8 vid!

  • I heard Jefferson stole bibles from old ladies because he's an atheist.

That's what a Federalist spokesman told me.

Great video. I should show this to my history teacher.

  • Hamilton wasn't treasurer, he resigned during Washington's administration, and Adams hated Hamilton as much as Jefferson did at that point.

  • well done

  • actually, i should have said....the ONLY decent president we've had.

  • ahhh....Thomas Jefferson....the last decent president we had.....

  • Goddamn you Adams!!!

  • Classic, great job!

  • Vote Adams!!!!

  • Adams would never run such an ad! Malarkey!

Oh, and I wish Jefferson was my father.

  • Actually, the campaign rhetoric in elections of that time period make modern elections seem entirely tame by comparison. For example, Andrew Jackson was constantly labelled a murderer (he had a colorful past as a duelist) and an adulter who married a bigamist (when he married his wife both he and she erroneously believed she had received a divorce).

  • One of the more interesting accusations that came out of this election was a rumor spread by Adams' campaign that Jefferson had died - which is perhaps the ultimate attack ad.

  • Given his promiscuity, your odds would have been pretty good in 1800.

  • Comment removed

  • HAHAHAHA! ah this is great! RIP Jefferson! I want hamilton cartoons!

  • they gave greatly to this nation, that is obvious but let us not romanticize slave awning TJ.

  • I had know idea Karl Rove was alive in 1800.

  • The Evil one is timeless :P

  • LOL!! nice

  • as if Adams wasn't a hypocrite, Hamilton central bank much?

  • Who isn't?

That doesn't take away the fact that it's true (with either of them). I just respect Adams more.

Especially after watching 1776. MMMM obnoxious and disliked.

  • how is Adams more respectable than Jefferson, Jefferson's more libertarian and Adams did the Alien and Sedition Acts

  • Adams hardly ran his own campaign.. On the other hand, Jefferson personally saw to it that those negative, false and malicious attack ads would go out. As Washington feared, party politics will get the best of everyone.. even Thomas Jefferson. Not all of the founding fathers were "perfect", John Adams was sick of being unpopular so he signed the aliens act. It was also a time where war was eminent, you can understand why he would sign such a thing.

  • As for the sedition act, I actually agree with it. Oh how detrimental those false and distorted ads are towards a nation.. Take a look at the situation now, with McCain and Obama passing distorted ads (mostly McCain), who can tell what is true and what is not? A blue collar worker will actually be against Obama believing that Obama would raise his taxes! Why shouldn't politicians be more honest about their campaigns?

  • Like how Clinton promised to LOWER middle class taxes back in the 1992 elections, only to reverse his decision two weeks in office, saying he couldn't cause the budget was in "worse" shape than he first thought. Then three months later, he INCREASED our taxes in his budget proposal. The SAME thing Bush #1 was slammed over. The infamous "Read my lips, no new taxes." Although BUsh paid the price for lying, no one called ou the Congressional Dems for forcing his hand by shutting the govt.

  • Both parties lie. Neither EVER pushes for a libel standard IN politics. (It's the only place where you can lie about aomebody to the point of destroying them and still not get sued over it.) This is planned. BOTH parties want this system. What you should be asking is, why DO they want such a system? Maybe...to keep AMericans divided over all the lies they tell. Or guessing which is a lie, a half truth, a truth? All while what happens? They get richer, we get poorer, and we need them more & more.

  • Who isn't?

That doesn't take away the fact that's it's true (for either of them). I just respect Adams more.

Especially after watching 1776. MMMM obnoxious and disliked.

  • I think that you guys are forgetting to acknowledge that 1) both of these men are dead and 2) they are some of the greatest Americans to ever live. To dump on them in light of their ackomplishments and thier contributions to our nation is to completely downgrade America and the people of it. Every person has thier flaws, but these men have long ago proved that they can transcend those flaws to sculpt the future of the greatest nation in the world.

  • I think you have an awesome point, but I love and adore these guys too much to not make fun of them constantly. ;)

And as for them being dead... history is alive, my friend!

  • And we are losing our free world as we speak. Today we are voting for people who have either never read the constitution are those who don't care about it's meaning. McCain, Hillary, and Obama all suck. I have to vote for the constitution. I have to vote for the only sane person preaching the truth left. I have to vote for Ron Paul in April!

  • "Grey hairs bathed in blood." Ha ha ha ha!

  • Vote Whig.

  • THAT IS AWESOME

  • Uhm, don't give the republic party any ideas...

  • I think it says a lot about Adams and his campaign crew that they never had to stoop to mentioning Sally Hemings.

  • Wonderful! A great, valuable lesson: politics has never been "positive."
