What a sad sad loss. I was devastated to hear the news. I do wish that she and others would realize the value of accepting medical care after an accident even if they think they are not injured. We should do it for our loved ones if not for ourselves. She was a wonderful person, from all reports, as well as a great actress.

Every other "sport" like riding a bicycle 2 blocks from your house,people wear helmets and for what? WHY don't they wear helmets for this DANGEROUS skiing?
1) ALWAYS wear a helmet when skiing, biking, sledding, boarding, etcetera. "Helmet hair" is a small price to pay for going home to your children.
2) When trained personnel tell you they'd like you to be assessed by a doctor, DO IT. Refusing medical care doesn't make you tough, it makes you DEAD.
3) Make sure you talk to your family about organ donation. If Ms. Richardson's organs had been donated, she could have saved 7 lives and her death would not have been in vain! DONATE!

The Quebec hospital totally failed to see that she obviously had a brain injury - all that would have been needed to be done was to shine a light into her eyes and look for reactions, and then order other tests to confirm it.
If they had done these things, the pressure inside her skull could have been quickly relieved with either drugs or surgery, and she would probably be alive and healthy right now instead of going brain dead.

Omg, this is so sad. :( I wasn't a huge fan and I didn't follow her career, but The Parent Trap has been one of my all-time favorite movies since I was about 6 years old, and I always thought she was a great actress in that movie. maybe should have worn a helmet, but many people have not done so before and ended up unscathed, it was a tragic accident, for a talented actress to be taken and so close to Mother's Day too, Parent Trap is one of my favourite films, won't be same watching it, my sympathy goes out to all her family and friends, my thoughts are with them at this traumatic time.

I was 5 years old going for my swim lesson and would not even sniff the water without a life jacket.
i was 5 when i rode my bike. I would not sniff the bike without a helmit.

Can you imagine? One moment she's being a parent to her two kids because they wanted to go skiiing so bad. Then she has a tumble and less than 2 days later she is no longer with her kids. Quite shocking really. I'll miss her, I hope Liam will be alright, but especially her kids.

she didnt die from the fall really. she was fine, but the fall fractured her skull causing internal bleeding, causing her to go brain dead, which made her die. if u rnt sad then WOOP-DEE-DOO! whatevr.

Omg, this is so sad. :( I wasn't a huge fan and I didn't follow her career, but The Parent Trap has been one of my all-time favorite movies since I was about 6 years old, and I always thought she was a great actress in that movie. It's not fair, she was only 45 years old and still had so many more successful years ahead of her. I can't imagine what her husband and sons must be going through. :( RIP Natasha :(.
