@Sho69607 Probably because it would put the jetway at an awkward angle. If they wanted to use the front door, the plane would have to park further back and would probably block the taxiway behind it.
@Mach3Films The reason being; first class is the first door. They dont want coach passengers to walk through first class. So they use the second door where coach or economy begins.
@Sho69607 its to stop the coach passengers walking straight past the business/first passengers but then again that's what we do here in the UK i'm not sure about the configuration of the 757 as we don't use them that much here in the UK just airbus and the larger boeing aircraft e.g. 747, 777 variants but the normal procedure is to stop the passengers from coach just walking on up to the front to get off...
@Sho69607 I used to work for United and we used door 2L almost all the time when possible, first class is to the left and economy to the right that way economy passengers do not have to walk through the first class cabin, plus makes it quicker to deplane :)
@Sho69607 The reason is because using the front door, everyone has to trapse through first class. Using door 2L First Class passengers can peel off to the front and steerage can go to the right. No commoners through first class. Really, that's the reason.
Wonder where it came from?
