Who is honestly "Pro-war"? And no dont say governments. They'res violence. I dont this song is as simple as "Don't go to war".
War will always happen, violence will always exist, Peace has to be worked at. If you believe in simple peace, lay down your arms first.

Its sympathy for those who fight and die for such a foolish thing like war. Its not there to promote noble causes, or patriotism or "freedom".

The lyrics don't reflect the 'foolishness' of war but its cost. Important distinction. Mark seems to have a better understanding of the fighting in this world, he doesn't deny its causes but clearly points out the tragedy that arises from it. Consider the reasons for wars. Consider the Mandela concert he played at. Who can stop the military from abusing its powers? In that case not the people. It was written more about the Isr/Palstn war though. If you understand the conflict, you'll know more
