  • I have one problem. I calibrate the pitch to +/- 8 and in 6 it's all stay, on 3,3 too but when i connect to dvs and to tsp 2 it's show in one deck + 10,8, in +8 , in other deck it's work fine i mean i get +8 when i had +8.

  • Cheers mate, i have just followed your instructions and they were spot on! I seen your video ages ago but i wasn't to bothered about playing my vinyl at that speed, until i played on my mates mk5's and when using my decks after playing them none of my tunes felt fast enough! Now iv changed my pitch they are perfect, thanks for the tip!!!!!!!

  • got a set of mk2's and on both of them -3.3 is at -2 on the slider same on both decks, ive tried setting at 2.7 with the multimeter adjusting the pots etc but the problem still persists tried many times but can never get -3.3 +3 and +6 all spot on,is there something else that could be faultly thats preventing me getting a correct reading ? thanks

  • Hi James, thumps up yet one more time.

I replaced my pitch fader & adjusted the pitch range faster than you can say "blueberry pie" :)

  • ´Hi:

I bought a new Technics 1200 mkII and I saw your video to calibrate the pitch.

When I was calibrating/adjusting the pitch I put the power off but I forgot to unplug the turntable from the TT. I was working inside the turntable with the power. What problems may I have in future or now? What happens if you lift up the platter and you do not unplug it?

Thanks for your answer, I am very worried.

    Julián

  • @entagled1 Hi there, I'm sorry for the late reply I hope it's not too late.

As long as you didn't short anything out your turntable will be fine.

You won't do any damage by opening it up with the power cable still connected, as long as you do not short anything out inside with screwdrivers, no damage will occur.

And if you lift the platter up with the power still connected, as long as the timetable is switched off that's fine, it's safe to do that.

    Thank you for your comments.

    Nice one!!!

  • thanks mate gd vid gonna go buy sum now....:)

  • Please help. My pitch level centers at 2... (meaning the red light dot stabalizes at 2) At 0 my turntables is actually at -2 and too slow. How do i fix the "0 level" of the pitch fader?

  • Thank you very much Viperfrank!!It helped me a lots!!Peace.

  • first of all i wanna thank you for all your videos, they make things just so much easier!

but i got a problem with changing my pitch range. i use my technics mainly with timecode, so i can check the pitch on traktor and if i turn the screw for the range anti clockwise i got +3% but still -8% and so on..... it changes the positive range but not the negative one.

do u know about the problem, or is it just that traktor doesnt show the right tempo?

    ps: sry for my english

  • good video m8 i watched it all even though i wasnt looking to adjust the pitch range! it might fix my problem - i was at a party and a drink got spilt on my sl1210 mk2. i think it was me and i think it was wkd (blue). ever since when i move the pitch btween +2 and +4 it seem to stick and slow away down the tune. seems like just a bad connection to me and all it needs is a wipe with a damp cloth! repair shops are quoting prices i cant afford and the decks have been put away! i need advice please

  • @mitsubishistuntchin oh ouch thats not good, the trouble is the sugar amongst other thing in the drink will probably start to corrode stuff in there including the resistive strips in the fader, so depending on how long its been in there will depend on how badly it may corrode the fader. thats what it sounds like. to be honest i think the best bet is going to be to replace the fader as thats the cheapest part to change.

thanks for your comment and if you need any more help let me know ill help.

  • if u do this it never bes the same as the day u bought it

  • Thanks a lot mate.. Most helpful..even just the tapping to release the platter, but have always wanted to get that little bit more from my babies and now i can! Cheers. Peace

  • Well done mate!

    Cheers,

    dj pelipe

  • v good

  • @sincerehastings thank you i'm glad the video was helpful.

    nice one!!!

  • I'm having serious truble removing the platter. I'm getting it up a few mms but then it won't budge. Do I dare use forse on my beloved? I tried tapping the center as illustrated but it won't give in at all.

  • Awesome video! Very informative and helpful - solves my hesitation to go for a pair of 1200 MKII's.

  • Awesome! I hope this is the same for MK5's!

    Thanks :-)

  • thx a lot for the vid!! :D

  • no worries, im glad it was helpful. thank you for your comment.

    nice one!!!

  • Nice video, but track title is not in the description!

  • I tried this on both of my 1200m3d's and all it does is move the 0 point. I get approx -6 and +10, so it is a bit faster, but not wider (does that make sense?). Is there something I'm doing wrong, or does this just not work on an m3d model?

  • nice one fella fookin superstar

  • Good

  • Best video i ever seen as for your taste in music for that matter.

    ITS FOKING WICKED :DDDDDDD

  • With the 1210 Mk2's when you adjust the pitch as shown does the mid point stay at the same speed or not?

  • So whats the choon mate?

  • Does anyone know if I can use a 1210mk5 pitch slider for my 1210mk2.... I would like to have the mk5 slider because it doesn't have the slider click at pitch zero, anyone know if it would work?

  • you can get the click taken out of your mk2's

  • Is it possible for a Technics 1200Mk2 and a Technics 1210mk2 to have the same pitch range and not go offbeat?

  • yo.. so i have two stanton str8-80s i think the pitch is off on them.. would u know how to adjust it on them??? there is a whole on the bottom that says pitch adj, but when i take the cover off the whole leads to no where?? wtf has stanton done??

  • Good vid.

Can you do a quick vid to show how to reset the zero point on the pitch slider please?

I have 2 zero points on both my 1210's.

    Thanks man.

  • i have the same prob as you 2 zero points, please make a video james

  • BUY A MUILTIMETER AND DO IT

  • Cheers mate, very clear this vid.

  • this does not work with the technics m3d,when you turn the pitch faster like +12 % the slowest point will be -4 % not -12 %. so the pitch range stays 16% max.

the problem with the 1200m3d is also that the zero point also moves when you adjust the screw.

  • thanks m8 helped a lot very clear instructions :)
