Hitchens didnt say that women aren't funny. He said that generally as a sex, women are less funny than men. There can be funny women, however. There can be very VERY funny women. But there are far fewer funny women than there are funny men. Also more often than not, when a woman is funny she is appealing to male humour. This is why so many funny woman are butch. Sexy women can be funny, but this the exception to the rule. It is quite rare.
