The heavns of old were the pre flood era. The canopy of water that God prepared in the beginning was released along with the founttains of the deep, and this would effect the sunlight and moon light and its effect on the earth. So they are old heavens only in the respect to the release of the canopy of water. They did not exist prior to Gen 1:2

"scientists think" - so if they can not Actually Prove their Theory as they claim no one can explain GOD - then what gives anyone the right to try & rule their theory over the other.

Gap Theory proves God and Evolution. Just one less thing for Atheists to find a flaw with in Christianity. This could be incredibly beneficial to the integrity of Christians if we accept this view. It is obvious that the seven literal days happened, but according to the gap theory, it happened later), but what does is if you accept Jesus as your savior.

The earths surface in the Ocean has a crack all the way around it splitting the continent apart. The earth is millions of years old, proven. There are tree rings that go back over 10,000 years, Ice Cores that record the past weather. There is no mud layer with all the dead bodies in it. We find distinct layers with different kinds of rock. Floods don't do that.

Gen 1:16-17 there is a difference between made and created. God originally made the heavens (which include the suns, planets, etc) in the beginning. Before Gen 1:16-17 They were forbidden from following their original command then God restored them by clearing the 1st Heaven. In my opinion, the earth prior to the 6 days of Gen was in an Ice-age!
