not only is brownbird's music awesome, he's a really nice guy too. finally met him after one of his shows in NY, a pleasure to talk to, and him and his girlfriend ended up giving me and my friend a ride to the train station. solid guy.

This guy plays conventional blues straight from the style of the 20's and 30's. He calls it 'acoustic holler blues' and sites Charlie Patton as an influence. He played Hartford again last night and today is his birthday. Happy Birthday, Rudy. Whatever he wants to call it I call it rock-n-roll in its purest visceral form. I am a fan and think this man should go places!

@ytza3 It's called a Resonator. I'm not sure if this one is made by the Dobro company. It's called that because the center pan behind the strings 'resonates' the sound making it brighter and louder. Fender makes one with a wooden body construction but believe me when I say that the all metal ones like Rudy's are heavy as all get out and are never set up for straps like conventional acoustic guitars. When Rudy picks that up and starts to jump around he certainly means it!!!
