This movie messed me up as a kid. It has seriously left me with a scar for life on my psyche. You can't run from it, you can't destroy it, and it knows what horrifies you. Nothing you do can stop it's torment. Is there anything more horrible?
I was a drinker and a cocaine user. The day I stopped doing both of those was the day I thought monsters in the closet were done with my imagination as a youngster.
