But there's a couple of flaws in your theory: 1) Whitebeard had the Guru Guru No Mi and he never learned how to get to Raftel because he wasnt interested. One Piece is in Raftel from what is revealed so far. 2) Gold Lion Shiki had that one devil fruit power and he was Rogers rival who wanted the "apocalyptic weapon" Roger had found. This was a year before Roger became the Pirate King. One Piece cant be a tree.

For what I get from this, I assume "D." is either an ancient bloodline ( Which might be explained through those ancient stones that Robin is investigating ) And it is a secret line that Roger discovered during his days as king. Perhaps "One piece" is the missing "piece" in the puzzle, which explains everything. Or at least that would make sense.
