@dirint my father in law is a trapper of all kinds of game including small animals and he never has used a gut hook. if you can use a knife you don't need a gut hook.
I have been coveting one of these whilst paying off this month's bankcard bill. I already have, use and love my Leatherman SuperTool 300 but it lacks scissors, a diamond file, is much heavier and its blades are on the inside.
this guy would be annoying to talk to as he would keep finding ways to say "charge TTi" and "locks into place" into the conversation as he seems to enjoy saying in so damn much
I like my Charge TTi very much, but I wish it had a awl!!! Since one could be made to fit a bit holder, there is really no reason not to add one. (I hope I am behind the times and Leatherman now makes one.) I know some have modified a hex bit on their own to correct this failing. I get tired of hearing, true though it may be, that it is not a real outdoor tool as it does not have an awl.
1ohtaf1, I exceed the character limit, I'll have to divide my reply. Sorry for the delay but I was camping and on a trip.
The diamond file on the Leatherman Charge etc., is so good that I would hesitate to compare the relative usefulness of the file and an awl. The choice does not really need to be made. The awl could be added as a bit or the small bit driver which is of low usefulness could be modified or eliminated to either incorporate an awl or be replaced by an awl.
I know, I really want a TTI, but I love an awl. It's funny, before i had any swiss army knives or multitools i thought the awl would be useless, but I seem to use it more than many other tools. I will probably mod a bit into an awl like you said.
Not really, you do get some staining if u fail to clean it after using, especially if used around water and the sea. however the staining is easily removed and u should thouroughly clean the tool and oil it after use. it will last a lifetime.
@DryWhiskey Metals used in multi-tools and knives are not rust-proof. When making stainless steel, the higher the rust resistance, the softer the metal. A good balance will give you a moderately rust-resistant blade that can maintain an edge well enough to be usable, but a metal that can be completely rust-proof and hold a decent edge isnot as easy...my Leatherman has light rust on it. But considering I dropped it in the snow and found it a few days later, I'm impressed.
@DryWhiskey not any screws, the multitool is mostly stainless steel constructed other then the titanium handles and the S30V steel main blade, a reminder is that stainless steel is stain resistent not stain imune, i have forgotten a victorinox knife on the bathroom for a few months and after i found it the corrosion had completly destroyed it and it was 100% stainless steel, you can wash it with water, just make sure you dry it and oil the main blade after washing it.
oh no this is the one with the kinda of useless hook on it´s blade. i hate those

@Raccoonraper for me it means coolness since i like titanium :P, but the main reason is to lower its weight while beeing very sturdy.

Do you think a file or an awl will be more usefull?

The bushings are made of bronze, which naturally lubricate upon use. The best multi tool on the market.

nice! does it have any parts -like screws- that could rust? stain? if you want to clean it with water?
