For those who are confused: This was supposed to be in "Clerks", but wasn't filmed due to budget limitations. Smith had this made in 2004, but included references to his other films which weren't in the scene originally. The first three minutes to be exact. The theatrical version of "Mallrats" refers to Julie's death as just happening. Smith added it during reshoots, when he changed the opening of the film. Read IMDB and Wikipedia for more info.

Not quite. This was originally going to be a scene in the beginning of Mallrats, but the filming was too expensive, so the film cut straight to them running out of the house.
