How to use Spybot Search & Destroy

I had A problem a few months back where a Hacker/Hijacker took over my computer, Litterally, and could turn it off/on, take over my mouse and do stuff without my knowing. He Put like a chatbox in the middle of my screen and told me he'd take off the Trojan, And ever sence than nothing bad has happened, im not sure if he's taken it off, ive run scans and it says theres nothing wrong with my computer, I really do wonder if he took it off my laptop. i've downloaded this just to make sure.

@oblivian448 in most cases with registry errors. its best to leave them alone. If you start messing with the registry you might end up making the computer worse. in the end. Its best just to leave it alone.

@akhiz123 yes you can, when you have a wireless Internet connection. then you can up date. a wireless internet connection is the same as a wired. You have internet and that is what matters.

What happens if i have no Internet? virus wont even let me have internet on SafeMode! I have downloaded it on a another computer and transfored it but it says i need to update it and i need internet to do that. So now what? ugghh.

@PumpedMusic Sounds to me the the Virus changed your Internet Settings. Do this.

Open Internet Explorer go to > Tools > Internet Options. Then click on "Connections" Tab (The tabs on the top) Click on the "Settings" Button And uncheck the Proxy Section (The Virus Did this.) Now Click "Ok" and Close Internet Explore, Then open Internet Explore and check if you have internet. Also Check to make sure ur internet is on and connected to the computer. I hope this helps. NOW YOU CAN UPDATE :D

@slaytamer lol sorry, that part is only if you need to recover a file that you know is safe. but still most of the time when Spy Bot says its a not safe, then the file. just leave it.

@nerdydoom No you don't, you can just leave McAfee alone and just run Spy Bot.

Try using Malware Anti-Malware I made a video on how to use that program as well. Download it and install it, that should help you out. What ever spybot can't do, Malware Anti-Malware should be able to do. Hope this helps!

The answer is yes..even though this is a free program,you need more protection with other kinds of anti-virus programes(i have 4 of them..spybot,mcafee,spyware doctor and MalwareByte)i recomend that you have a anti-virus program that has a extra firewall,cookies monitoring and more...
