The title is "intelligent", not "intellectual"-often enough only to a narrow minded pose. Intellectuals should have good answers to the question "how did we get here?" on a range of topics but also question their own beliefs and assumptions with experience. Hard to do. An intellectual should ask 1. When did I last reverse my opinion on an issue? 2. Do I get any experience or do any reading that might conflict with my most strongly held views? Done that lately?
