Government stopped insurance companies from trading across state lines. That's why the insurance companies are essential monopolies. Government responds to the monopoly by demonizing private insurance and then trying to take over the entire healthcare system.

This is typical of government. It creates a problem, and then it gets more power away from people and private enterprise to come up with a solution to the government-induced problem.

These organizations represent only 20% of Drs. & 180,000 Nurses (out of millions) We need bi-partisan input on this !! This kind of healthcare does not work in Britan, Canada or Mass. !! Most health care professionals say we need reform including Doctors. I have talked to a number of people who have been under our health care system and other countries health care systems and they have all said we need to fix our system. The insurance companies say we need status quo. I am with Obama on this one. Government will intrude on the system to reform it. It is either draconian regulations or a public option to force competition. I want the public option way.

America will never have the best healthcare system in the world if it doesn't cover all its citizens. The Reform Obama wants does not go far enough to cover everyone, so you are still going to be left with millions uninsured. Americans argue that WEALTHY foriegners flock to America for healthcare but what about your poorest citizens who can't afford the insurance premiums. He made a good point: even people with insurance can be wiped out by one single health issue. One thing he really doesn't talk about is actual health care quality. I know getting health care in the first place is of utmost importance, but eventually we will have to address quality. Many people administering the care are underpaid and overworked. That needs to change.
