yeah i agree with coxiesara it's weird watching them being all sad and intimate one moment and then laughing the next...just goes to show what good actors they are!
first take was cheesey......I like the actual one in the episode. Oh, I'm going in for Nursn, for anyone who doesn't know what Pagents Carcinoma, it's a form of Breast Cancer. This scene should have been labeled "soap opera." I've never seen this much Drama....oh wait, yes I have....my old Highschool.
Danggggg....he can really sell it! Scully's always been there for Mulder...from the time Mulder's Dad got shot and killed, dealing with loss of his little sister, to the suicide of his Mother because she had cancer that couldn't be treated. She took care of him when he was ill, and put her job and life on the line for him (Anasazi, Extinction, Armor Fati, Brand X, Biogenesis) Chris Carter did a really good job creating these characters. But Dang! David can really sell it!
I think the first clip with her starting with "she was trying to tell you to stop" was the best scene. we saw and heard more emotion in it. thanks for this! very cool!
Glad someone's enjoying 'em, beyond me! Finding dailies for this show was like finding gold, which is why I'm sharing. Even in this crummy quality I eat up every little detail of their performances. Also, notice when cut is called after the 1st take, GA is laughing (despite the angsty moment that just played out)? Looked maybe as though DD had left a trail of tears/phlegm all over her shirt or something. :)
I know!! It looks like he was lifting her up at the end of the scene, as she was practically over his shoulder. You really get a sense of how intense the working relationship was between them from tidbits like this. It's one thing acting with an ensemble cast day in and day out but with just one other person, it must have been so tough.
@monstroushummingbird she does laugh... but first she says "ooh" as i think if she was trying to leave the acting behind cause in the first shot she was crying too. Then she laughes but i think it's more an actor's / actress' mechanism to get away from an intense scene...
This is GREAT!!!! Thanks loads for posting this.This is one of my favorite Mulder-Scully scenes & it's great to see it in 3 different takes.
