Luke and Noah are soulmates who have gone through paralysis together, near death experiences, and a marriage of convience, they're just going through a rough time right now made rougher by Noah's uncharacteristically unforgiving behavior (bad writing) and the introduction of Reid into the mix. I see Reid as nothing more than a blip or a speed bump in the Luke and Noah relationship. Reid is to Luke and Noah as Damian is to Lily and Holden.
@6ftladee In order to be 'soulmates' Luke and Noah would need to be equals and they would need to bring something unique to each other's lives. Neither of those statrements has been true for their storyline. Even throwing all the lame speed bumps/dramas in their path could not liven up their relationship. I think they both were meant to move on to other people: Luke to Reid and Noah? Well, not sure since he has never been a very fleshed out character. Maybe some TV producer in LA?
@Jennloam They should have brought on Ricky Martin (who started on General Hospital) to be in Noah's first film. If the fans saw the potential for Ricky and Noah they would gladly accept LuRe.....Too bad I didn't write for the show! LOL!!!!

Luke and Reid have a good chemistry going and if the show hadn't been cancelled maybe they could have built uo to being soulmates but at this time they are nowhere near being soulmates. On a soap you have to have gone through many trials and tribulations in order to reach the soulmates or better yet super couple status. They have done neither. They are still at the I like you alot and I could see this going somewhere stage. Reid even knows he cannot say he loves Luke yet, still to early.
Luke has ALREADY chosen REID over Noah. He told Noah he would not go to LA because of REID. He will tell Noah on Sept. 1 that heis in love with Reid. It is so obvious that Reid is Luke's soulmate, the one he is meant to be with as a life partner. To kill him off, leaves Luke with a huge piece of his heart permenantly missing. I think the writers owe us an edited ending with an alive Reid!! Make the call. I NEVER like Noah and Luke together. Noah never could play gay. Was better with gals.
Side note, I feel that if the writing would have been better Luke and Noah ending up together, as it looks like they will would have been more accepted by the LuRe fans.
With all the talk of Reid dying I think the Luke, Noah,and Reid storyline is going to end something similar to the way the JP and Craig storyline from Hollyoaks did. In that storyline JP told Spike and later Keiron he loved them too but in the end he found that no matter how much he loved the two of them he just had a deeper connection with Craig.

I went to HappyChintz72 to request they call ATWT or visit cbs website to post for LuRe and they are responding....If they can respond, I would expect you guys to do the same...Aren't we, on this site as loyal to LuRe as those on HappyChintz72's site? Please, everyone make the call , then get at least one other person to do the same...pay it forward and this grassroots effort to save Reid might actually work. VERY easy to edit the dream scene at the end even though production is ended.

I also feel that if he would have still been there, all of this crap that they came up with for the end would not be happening.

@TheCjr917 Sorry - the EastEnders channel is very much into the initials cause for some reason the BBC keeps cancelling out the channels that are uploading that story line. It is the story of Christian and Syed (who is Muslim and dealing with all the cultural expectations of his Pakistani family).

@roguejedi8 Tell me about it.. When I found out a little over a week ago I was actually feeling physically sick for days, feeling like I would burst into tears at work. It is crazy to be so invested in these characters but the actors are so great they have really brought Luke and Reid to life and I feel as if I found out a very dear freind is going to die in a few weeks/days.

@JRRDPR I love the way ESS explains this in interviews - that Reid prejudged Luke cause he had none of the qualities Reid would have looked for in a partner, but that he couldn't help falling for Luke because he was "ridiculously charming!"
However, drama and tragic events are to be expected in soap as well as in real life. We know that life is not fair, so why should we expect a fairy tale when the show is coming to an end? There is a lesson to learn and remember ATWT by (in Reid's words): "Nothing in this life is forever.".
@BelliinaXX You do make good points here. I would have less trouble accepting the ending for Reid if I felt like other really well rounded characters like him, and straight characters (not like him), met such tragic endings as this show wraps up, somehow it seems out of balance. But you are right, as is Reid, nothing is forever. :(

@mandrsol A few commenters have told me about other gay SL's. I have watched a couple of episodes of Christian & Oliver and Botineras. For me personally, it's all about Luke & Reid. I have never been into a soap couple gay or straight like I am with LuRe. After ATWT is over, I will see what else is availabe in this genre. :)
@CasieDearest And actually, Reid bests Noah in terms of being with Luke in almost every poll out there, so I would definitely disagree that Nuke fans outnumber LuRe fans. I remember how it was before Reid came along, Nuke watching was way down on YT and the whole thing was just TIRED. Reid turned that around in a big way.

@rosepetal801 [spoilers in this post] a while back multiple "insiders" leaked that reid would be dying and recently one of the writers said luke and reid's story would have a TRAGIC end. it sucks :( but thats where it comes from
@skyemcleod1 Even though they HAVE finished production, they CAN easily edit the ending to suit the fans. IF you call 866-695-1860 you can make it happen...They are there, recording the calls and said the writers/producers are listening to them. Either it may get an edited ending or, maybe if enough calls are placed, somehow this soap or parts of it will be picked up by another affiliate.

@09parisgirl I really dont believe Luke is going to LA with Noah. I believe Noah will come back, give up his film career to be with Luke during his time of grief. He will use that old line "you would do it for me" It would finally show him actually sacrifice something for Luke (same way Reid did by giving up his dream job for Luke). I am SURE they would never have Luke appear to get over Reid's death in a matter of days. Now, THAT would REALLY be an insult to their beautiful love story.
@reidstheman Frankly I think Noah being at Luke's side at "his time of need" is an insult to Reid and their relationship and when I'm completely honest no self respected person would depend on Noah after the way he had treated Reid. It feels like cheating but I might have an extreme perspective on this one.
And I think Luke going to L.A. with Noah is a possibility, not like "He Noah, hon, wanna move to the city of Angels to fuck our brains out", more like "Noah, I'll come when I'm ready"

Luke and Noah are soulmates who have gone through paralysis together, near death experiences, and a marriage of convience, they're just going through a rough time right now made rougher by Noah's uncharacteristically unforgiving behavior (bad writing) and the introduction of Reid into the mix. I see Reid as nothing more than a blip or a speed bump in the Luke and Noah relationship. Reid is to Luke and Noah as Damian is to Lily and Holden.

@6ftladee In order to be 'soulmates' Luke and Noah would need to be equals and they would need to bring something unique to each other's lives. Neither of those statrements has been true for their storyline. Even throwing all the lame speed bumps/dramas in their path could not liven up their relationship. I think they both were meant to move on to other people: Luke to Reid and Noah? Well, not sure since he has never been a very fleshed out character. Maybe some TV producer in LA?

Luke and Reid have a good chemistry going and if the show hadn't been cancelled maybe they could have built uo to being soulmates but at this time they are nowhere near being soulmates. On a soap you have to have gone through many trials and tribulations in order to reach the soulmates or better yet super couple status. They have done neither. They are still at the I like you alot and I could see this going somewhere stage. Reid even knows he cannot say he loves Luke yet, still to early.

Luke has ALREADY chosen REID over Noah. He told Noah he would not go to LA because of REID. He will tell Noah on Sept. 1 that heis in love with Reid. It is so obvious that Reid is Luke's soulmate, the one he is meant to be with as a life partner. To kill him off, leaves Luke with a huge piece of his heart permenantly missing. I think the writers owe us an edited ending with an alive Reid!! Make the call. I NEVER like Noah and Luke together. Noah never could play gay. Was better with gals.

With all the talk of Reid dying I think the Luke, Noah,and Reid storyline is going to end something similar to the way the JP and Craig storyline from Hollyoaks did. In that storyline JP told Spike and later Keiron he loved them too but in the end he found that no matter how much he loved the two of them he just had a deeper connection with Craig.

I went to HappyChintz72 to request they call ATWT or visit cbs website to post for LuRe and they are responding....If they can respond, I would expect you guys to do the same...Aren't we, on this site as loyal to LuRe as those on HappyChintz72's site? Please, everyone make the call , then get at least one other person to do the same...pay it forward and this grassroots effort to save Reid might actually work. VERY easy to edit the dream scene at the end even though production is ended.

It is crazy to be so invested in these characters but the actors are so great they have really brought Luke and Reid to life and I feel as if I found out a very dear freind is going to die in a few weeks/days.

Ahh!! I'm so stupid. After watching this preview, all I could think about, was the next ep, but I knew I couldn't watch it until 3.9., cause I won't be at home till then. It was killing me. Then I managed to get distracted. And THEN I watched it again. I thought it was save- as I said I'm so stupid. Now it's killing me again, that I won't be able to see the whole Lure scene for soooo long:((((

@JRRDPR I love the way ESS explains this in interviews - that Reid prejudged Luke cause he had none of the qualities Reid would have looked for in a partner, but that he couldn't help falling for Luke because he was "ridiculously charming!"

However, drama and tragic events are to be expected in soap as well as in real life. We know that life is not fair, so why should we expect a fairy tale when the show is coming to an end? There is a lesson to learn and remember ATWT by (in Reid's words): "Nothing in this life is forever.".

I would have less trouble accepting the ending for Reid if I felt like other really well rounded characters like him, and straight characters (not like him), met such tragic endings as this show wraps up, somehow it seems out of balance. @mandrsol A few commenters have told me about other gay SL's. I have watched a couple of episodes of Christian & Oliver and Botineras. For me personally, it's all about Luke & Reid. I have never been into a soap couple gay or straight like I am with LuRe. After ATWT is over, I will see what else is availabe in this genre. :)

@rosepetal801 [spoilers in this post] a while back multiple "insiders" leaked that reid would be dying and recently one of the writers said luke and reid's story would have a TRAGIC end. it sucks :( but thats where it comes from

@skyemcleod1 Even though they HAVE finished production, they CAN easily edit the ending to suit the fans. IF you call 866-695-1860 you can make it happen...They are there, recording the calls and said the writers/producers are listening to them. Either it may get an edited ending or, maybe if enough calls are placed, somehow this soap or parts of it will be picked up by another affiliate.

YAY! I really hope that Luke realizes how much Reid does love him and does SOMETHING about it if you get my drift.
& on a side note: Chris HAS to come clean with Katie, how does he explain the Oxygen mask without having to tell her about his heart conditon? Reid is right (duh!) Chris has to tell Katie the truth. Reid was right in telling Luke about Chris, honesty is the only way to start a relationship & Reid is making sure that happens with him & Luke, Chris is gonna loose Katie with the lying.

so much for american soap drama actually i kind. of like the ending. Am from the greek school of drama acting, tears are always the prerequisite , someone has to die in the end thats what greek drama is all about or shakespear but with one condition the lovers die together if you american writers want a romeo juliet ending then luke has to die along with the love of his life.That i will call an ending.And the new wing or hospial will be the LURE neurocenter or something.Fairytale or drama?

The mere thought of Luke crying on Noah's shoulder & then leaving with him for L.A. is turning my stomach!

@09parisgirl I really dont believe Luke is going to LA with Noah. I believe Noah will come back, give up his film career to be with Luke during his time of grief. He will use that old line "you would do it for me" It would finally show him actually sacrifice something for Luke (same way Reid did by giving up his dream job for Luke). I am SURE they would never have Luke appear to get over Reid's death in a matter of days. Now, THAT would REALLY be an insult to their beautiful love story.

@reidstheman Frankly I think Noah being at Luke's side at "his time of need" is an insult to Reid and their relationship and when I'm completely honest no self respected person would depend on Noah after the way he had treated Reid. It feels like cheating but I might have an extreme perspective on this one.
And I think Luke going to L.A. with Noah is a possibility, not like "He Noah, hon, wanna move to the city of Angels to fuck our brains out", more like "Noah, I'll come when I'm ready"

What a shame. I still love it though. It's my favourite episode because Luke finally stood up for his man. It all went downhill from there. It would have been obvious back then that Reid is in love with Luke or why else would someone like him quit his job!?!? Earth to Luke!?
