its like she really gets into in the chorus... but then she tones way down and she is sitting down.... which affects her diaphram and vocals, I mean don't get me wrong, you sound great, but in the second verse you get up there which is awesome, but then you let me down when you get back into the chorus.... follow through with it and KEEP that energy!! Then settle at the end of the chorus with the calmness. But use dynamics, and I promise, your performances will sound and FEEL so much better.

no. ur in the wrong key for the whole first verse. it is a lot lower than that, or it is as high as you do it in the second verse.

you switch to the RIGHT key in the chorus.

@strauch2010 Indeed, the pitch is wrong for the first verse, it's not only the wrong octave, it's actually the completely wrong pitch. The second verse it has been fixed. Overall quite good, just needs some intonation help in the first verse.

@Imaslipper firstly, yes there is such thing as a wrong key. that's why keys were created... certain keys will produce certain overtones, and will harmonize better than others.

Even completely disregarding what i just said, she starts a full 4th higher than the actually picture for the first verse and continues to sing a 4th higher for that entire verse. that's what all of these people mean when they say "wrong key"

@pianomatteo no your wrong there is no such thing as a wrong key. They can play in whatever key pleases them as long as their playing the right forms of the chords. There IS a such thing as wrong pitch, chord whatever. They can play this song in D A or B#m

i get that its a cover hence the harder tone in the voice- nickle creek is great at having a soft tone throughout and not country.

but still, it's good.

fiddle as great tone on the lower notes and mandolin sounds good on its chords.

Sitting? Don't let your vocal instructor see that =P bad form! To the Violinist: Classically trained I'm guessing, so get a little fiddler attitude for these parts; namely your bowing -- try for more of a legato feeling with less direction changes -- it will help with songs like this, vs your Bach's and Brahm's styles. Still, no complaints at picking up the piece in general. Well done on the mandolin, as well -- even if you're no Chris Thile _just_ 'yet'. ;)
