I don't think the "Chinese hip-hop movement" is reported because ppl simply want to taste something "bizarre and out of ordinary". There can be something unique about a Chinese hip-hop song, for example, the intrument played at the beginning of the song in the video. But that's saying something of a strange culture (mine) to yours which does not necessarily prove to be "stereotypical" (always in a derogatory sense). Why not consider: "Chinese hip-hop" enlarges ppl's taste about hip-hop music!

I saw another story on chinese hiphip on a BBC docu. They get the point of music, that it's communication & art, as opposed to our attitude that it is only good if it makes Beyonce millions of dollars. If Americans were as serious about real music as young people in China, indie musicians like me wouldn't have to fear starving to death while making our music, and maybe even our YouTube channels might be watched, instead of being left to die in favor of the mindless garbage on the promoted list.
