Imagine a Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Debranded and Rooted. That would be the fastest phone on the market running 2.2 and the cool part is it would have multi touch.

@vampiresseT my x10 is debranded and rooted and it's still slow. this phone simply sucks, everything is the opposite of smooth, it's laggy and the touch screen SUCKS, it's very little responsive. it feels cheap when you hold it. it was my worst purchase in terms of phones.

The X10 has very similar specs as the Palm Pre' Plus, The Nexus One and The X10 are about neck and neck, but in my opinion the X10 screen resolution is much clearer and crisp. I'd love to see a camera test, then It'll be no comparison.

Bottom Line both of these phones have fast browsing speeds. We need to see another phone in the mix, by a remotely different OS to serve this video justice.

I choose HTC Desire coz its way more pocket friendly then SE Xperia X10, ofcourse u carry it in case on your belt or whatever, not bare in pocket , but still , better shape.

They seem to be on par with each other. There's really no sense in talking about how many tenths of seconds one was faster than another. They're both great phones, seeing as how they both run Android :p

they r both good, but personally i think the htc desire (which shud come out the same time as the x10) is better than both these models, its got better specs and it can even be €200 cheaper than the x10 according to pre orders.

i think the x10 isn't a bad choice.

at amazon. de the desire is about 25EUR cheaper. HTC isn't known for good audio players and good cameras, so if you want a good player and a good snapshot device, go for the x10.

@R06b3Rt i agree htc r not known for their cameras but when u hv a massive screen and a 65k color limitation bcos of winmo there is little incentive to improve the quality of ur cameras. on android htc hv 16mil now. wat u said about sound quality however is simply not true. the htc hd2 and the nexus 1 by htc both scored better in audio quality and loudness tests than the x10. i think the htc legend scored better in the audio quality test. also se confirmed that the x10 wont get multitouch.

@R06b3Rt also x10 doesnt hv double tap to zoom in so for web browsing ur stuck with those annoying +/- buttons (double tap was added in android 2.0). ur gna hv to w8 for se x10 to get upgraded to android 2.1 until then x10 only supports 65k. other missing features for x10 are the proximity sensor and a radio. htc desire has more ram and is expandable to more memory. so i fail to see why the x10 is more expensive than the htc desire.

Regarding the radio part, you get fm radio with the bluetooth headphones that are included in the package. works pretty good

It doesn't seem like there's much difference .. I could really care less if one loads the page 500ms faster than the other.... I personally would take the Nexus for faster Android OS updates.. the X10 has a larger display but the Nexus has much better color. And I think i'd rather the rounded corners of the Nexus in my pocket.. :)

@vaddy23 htc also make rly sensitive resistive touchscreens but resistive touchscreens r the worst kind of touchscreen used on phones. the main reason so many companies use them is bcos they r v cheap to produce. also there is a stylus that works with capacitive. see pogo stylus

@andyhwaiting As I own both devices, I don't have to choose ;) No, there's very little difference between 1.6 on the Xperia and 2.1 because SE integrated autofocus+flash for the camera and mircosoft exchange. The only two things you don't have is the newest webkit and live wallpapers (and some less important stuff) - nearly no difference. Please see in our forums (use google translate) for more informations (Thread: First impressions - it's sticky/on the top). I explained this with more detail.

Great movies, thanks for sharing. What I really would like to see (and have not seen anywhere) is how you could configure features in time and media-scape. Could you change colors? Decide what colors, what should be seen on each contact, remove individual contact and so on?

@zipppiz at the moment, you can't change colors and you can't remove individual contacts. But you can p.e. remove twitter or e-mails. You can see these settings in my movie "Xperia X10 Timescape als Homescreen und Homescreens"
